Wild considering she hasn’t made music for a minute But I’m not surprised, a lot of her singles are still heavy in rotation for me

I’m not surprised. She’s the woman with the most monthly listeners on Spotify right now, and that’s with no new album in over 10 years.

Is this the album that required 30 people to work on or the 11 track album that took 40 people to work on? I would never foolishly deny Rihanna's star power, but I'm here to tell you that even you could be given a team of 30-40 industry people and make a hit selling record. Edit: mixed up a fact, as noted by another commentor and removed that portion

You’re confusing Rihanna for Beyoncé. And Beyoncé actually lost Album of the Year (in 2015 at the Grammys) to Beck. And the reason so many people get credited on Beyoncé’s songs (and the same for other hip-hop and R&B artists) is because they make heavier use of sampling.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the clearing up my confusion on the Beck thing. Wasn't sure if I was remembering that correctly. I'll fix that part. Both the Rihanna albums I mentioned took multiple songwriters, specifically, out of that mix of people. She didn't write any full album herself. So while I'd claim she's a fantastic singer and performer (I love her movie acting, actually) I'd say that she probably isn't able to actually write an album on her own.

Didn't Beck have help from the Dust Brothers or Aphex Twins or something?

The thing I prefer of Rihanna over her contemporaries is that I can listen to almost all of her albums front to back. So many great songs.
