I for one am loving this wave of gothic horror revival.

If you read, then there is a book you would probably like. "Between Two Fires." Medieval Gothic horror.

It would make for a great prestige TV show.

I'm personally excited for a werewolf movie that isn't any fun at all.

No fun, just men and cocks. My kind of movie.

Monster Squad! The movie that is playing in my house when the Goonies isn’t on.

Would that be considered a Nard Dog?

Robert eggers? More like Robert hang dongggers.

webtheg Apr 16, 2026 +5
He didn't let Dafoe do it. Probably because just like von Trier he was disturbed by its size

anonymous_pastrami Apr 16, 2026 +2
You’d have to bring an imax camera to film dafoes dong and Robert ain’t filming with those.

Could it be that then next few releases of gothic movies will have a dash of Wuthering Heights-iness?

Eggers hasn’t missed yet

How does this guy keep getting starring roles when everything he's in bombs and his acting is terrible?

riegspsych325 Apr 16, 2026 +10
he may need a new agent but I rather loved him in Kick-Ass, Bullet Train, and his small role in Tenet. I have yet to see Nocturnal Animals and Fall Guy though

I’d like to personally present you with this L because of your dogshit-ass take.

Here’s an Uno reverse card, because he isn’t wrong.

Kick Ass, 28 Years Later, Bullet Train, The Kings Man, all financially successful.

deadpatronus Apr 16, 2026 -10
Financially sure. Avengers 2 was financially successful too. Critical success, not so much.

aquasun666 Apr 16, 2026 +10
Nosferatu as well.

deadpatronus Apr 16, 2026 -12
Who could forget his phenomenal performance in the financially successful Nosferatu?!?
-12
aquasun666 Apr 16, 2026 +12
I’m just saying it’s a really great movie and a solid performance by him.

He's been great in everything I've seen him in. Plus he's hot. I've learned that 99% of people who criticize actors don't know anything about acting.

He’s not terrible. He’s just so dreadfully boring. His one role that everyone points to and says he’s great in? Nobody’s seen it. Bullet Train? He got carried hard by Brian Tyree. He’s not bad, just bland - he’s got zero charisma. He’s like the American Dad scene where Bill Pullman forgets what movies he was in.

Werwulf, Hamnet What is this nonsense?
-19
hillofjumpingbeans Apr 16, 2026 +8
Wolf was written as wulf before English standardised its spelling. Since the movie is set in the 13 century this spelling is correct.

orbjo Apr 16, 2026 +13
Hamnet was Shakespeares sons name, and the film is about him.  That’s really not hard to understand.

They learned from listnook that if you misspell a word in the title, people will buy tickets just to be able to gripe about it.

Ugh so tired of this guy.

swoopy_boy Apr 16, 2026 -17
Nosferatu was unwatchable, hot garbage. My sibling actually got up and walked out of the cinema it was so bad. I stayed as I payed the money to see it but I regret every second. Never watching another Eggers film in my life.

Camwi Apr 16, 2026 +6
LOL The hottest of hot takes.
