i\`m so fed up with this kind of politicians. prepared to burn a country down just to make a couple of bucks for themselves. the sad thing is the voting majority in romania votes blindly for the PSD.

As a Romanian, I'm truly fed up with these scums that they want to burn the country down just for them to be good and not giving a single f\*ck about inflation or average citizen needs. It reminds me on the famous quote: *An evil man will burn his own nation to the ground to rule over the ashes*

Pretty much every conservative ever. Prey on the fears and insecurity of people to get into power, then immediately ruin everything solely to keep yourself in power and reward your friends. Happens everywhere throughout history.

But somehow marginalized groups or disabled people on benefits are a problem. These people are so goddamn evil

That type exists in every country. The money and power are why a lot of then want to become politicians to begin with

This is made worse by our weak educational sistem that keeps the population dumb and unprepared for the modern world, and the leading party in pool is AUR, which is far right experiment of PSD that got out of control. A big chunk of the population is superstitious and consumes conspiracy theories for breakfast and hates intelectuals .Our politicians don't even bother to properly protects us from foreign propaganda. Romania is still a pro-trump country after all he has done. I don't think I see a fully developed and integrated Romania any time soon, worse, I might have pack my bags one day.

Thing is, this kind of people exist everywhere. But, and I might be wrong, corrupt politicians in other EU countries like Germany, the Netherlands or the Nordics siphon money as well. But they siphon like 20% off a project. I don't have a source, just vibes. In Romania these mfs want to siphon 50-70% and they throw a fit every time someone tells them to steal money but to at least be reasonable about it. The current PM cut a lot of "territorial" funding, but he also left a lot of it in place so these mfs shut up about it, and it still isn't enough. They are not content with pocketing what they perceive as change, they just want to rob us blind like they've been doing for 37 years.

not a couple of bucks, billions of euros. the majority is not PSD, the majority is AUR

The "social democrat" party was upset that they couldn't siphon SAFE funds because they give away the ministry prior to SAFE being announced. They kept asking for the party controlling it to be removed from the coalition. I hope that the European Union can see through the veneer of their lies, all they want to do is steal.

the EU has known this for a long time about PSD (and aligning with aur is a dead giveaway), just like about PNL - remember vote numbering in eu parliment done by Norica Nicolai? pathetic attitude.

Romania isn't like that, it will never be an Orban state. The one who tried to be like Orban in 2016 - 2018 ended up in jail after massive protests. In the last 80 years Romania had 2 dictators executed on TV ( Antonescu & Ceausescu ).

ChiefInternetSurfer Apr 28, 2026 +3
Not to mention the hate for Russia (in my experience (non-Romanian)).
3
Intelectualu Apr 28, 2026 +2
There are many people that actually love Russia or at least they would prefer Russia instead of the EU
2
Right_Ad_3782 Apr 28, 2026 +1
11% from the latest pools. Don't confuse idiots voting for far right with love for russia, they simply don't understand that the far right is sponsored and represents russia.

Intelectualu Apr 28, 2026 +1
it can still be an orban state with Georgescu, AUR and PSD

Right_Ad_3782 Apr 28, 2026 +1
For a maximum of 2 years ( if ever, the red pants won't ever be anything in RO ), until the next elections. Don't forget Dragnea had 46% and a guaranteed majority from the others and couldn't even come close to Orban.

You’re saying this now ? France is on the path to bankruptcy and might bring the EU down with it while Germany and France have worse unemployment and economic growth than the US.

I was referring to Romania.

Otherwise said : far left plus far right = love

europe2000 Apr 27, 2026 +8
Mind that in eastern Europe the big left is not actually left wing since ever.
8
Capable_Kiwi2514 Apr 27, 2026 +2
I mean this sort of "they're not actually left" argument just books down to "left wing == my culture's contemporary view of what left wing" is.  But it's a social construction --- to be left wing is simply to be recognized as the left wing.
2
europe2000 Apr 28, 2026 +2
No i mean it very literally, all left wing politicians active before the fall of communism are at best conservatives both economically ans socially

It's not even just about Russia. Look at Brexit. For some reason every EU country has an anti-EU party and they are almost always quite big too in terms of support. People in general are just hopeless.
12
Lintashi Apr 27, 2026 +2
Why you talk as if whole Europe is a singular country? What exactly hopeless about it? Why you ask if Russia feel great, if absolute majority of countries contribute to sanctions and have active stance against Russian politics? Why you think that Russia have Europe in its clutches- you talk about Poland? Or Sweden? Or Greece? Or France? Lithuania? Spain? There are at least 44 countries in Europe, and pro russian politics can be seen in 3 max.

Its a clickbait title. In fact none of these are anti EU. Yes they are super corrupt, thieves, demagogs, pro religion and nationalists but not anti-UE
-36
Dreamsyn Apr 27, 2026 +41
yeah, right. by your standards Orban wasn't anti EU either probably.
41
Kioz Apr 27, 2026 -30
They are as anti EU as Meloni

Natopor Apr 27, 2026 +8

If Romania fell off the earth, no one would notice.

Is this why they want UK to switch from first past the post to Proportional Representation like Romania?
-43
Mindless-Peak-1687 Apr 27, 2026 +36
Nope, First past the post sucks for all and is so flawed its antidemocratic.
36
mixxituk Apr 27, 2026 -27
Doesnt seem to help romania
-27
tegat Apr 27, 2026 +22
The point is not to "help", but to represent opinions and desires of all citizens. Times of enlightened monarch (or a minority), who decide what is good and helpful and what is not, are kind of over. Make better platform. Edit: Plus they wanted UK to switch to [Ranked-Choice Voting](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_United_Kingdom_Alternative_Vote_referendum), not proportional representation. AV is essentially multiple elections between candidates, but only one wins.

mixxituk Apr 27, 2026 -17
It helps the voter because it's a generally stronger government able to deliver policy than coalition fighting and shutdowns
-17
Mountain_rage Apr 27, 2026 +17
Or you end up with governments that use their weak mandate to destroy legacy as you see in the USA currently and/or with Brexit. In Canada conservatives sold off a bunch of crown corporations and programs for pennies on the dollar just to shut it down. That is much harder with coalition governments.  Edit: For a list just off the top of my head: - Candu Reactor sold off - Wheat Board sold off - Avro Aero destroyed - Experimental Lakes privatized - Oil sands: Privatized

The UK has had 6 different prime ministers over the last 10 years.
