That’s the beauty of it. He let the situation speak for itself. And it worked, everyone on social media is talking about it, more than if he had just come up with some soundbite. Piers Morgan is a t***, but that’s what makes him so entertaining. He’s aware he’s a t***, and he knows exactly what buttons to press to make fun of other twats.

Yeah, I didn’t think Brand was this dumb. Why wouldn’t he memorize a few passages just to have in his back pocket?

The thing that gets me is that this would be so easy to avoid. Just do the tiniest bit of research. I just googled "Bible verse righteous being persecuted" and this came up "Matthew 5:10–12. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." That would fit perfectly with him trying to play the victim. And he couldn't be bothered to do even that.

I think people have just been so willing to play ball with his bs before. If you’re attracted to his antics than you probably let him talk. But actually confronting him and bringing it to reality? Worst case scenario

In fairness, Morgan seems willing to interview absolutely anyone where others might balk at bringing someone like Brand on. It undermines the argument against deplatforming somewhat.

He's a grifter trying to do an image change as an "anti establishment conservative" who calls out bullshit.

It seems he is able to quickly figure out whether someone is an idiot or actually knows what they are talking about, and uses that to determine how much he should talk over them

Look up his time at Daily Mirror/phone hacking and say he seems tolerable.

It’s pretty easy for the public to forgive & forget when it comes to famous people. Give apologies that seem sincere, explain how you understand you were wrong, & back it up with actions + consistency, you can make a comeback. The problem is assholes are never able to make a sincere apology at all, let alone do all 3 of those things. That’s why when someone like Tucker not only says he doesn’t like Trump now, but actually apologizes for supporting Trump, it can soften empathetic people that had him on their shit list. I feel myself already doing it lol I have to keep that shit in check & remember all the damage he’s done. There was that time when RBG died & Trump learned about it on live TV & actually had one of the only human reactions I’ve ever seen from him. He seemed genuinely kinda sad & reflected on how important she was. Instantly softened me on him for 2 seconds lol

He lives near me and there’s a local restaurant that keeps booking him as a speaker for like Republican women’s groups and stuff. Every time they’ve posted a flyer for an event with him, people will comment “Russell Brand the rapist?” and then they take down the individual comments or turn comments off completely. I can’t believe anyone is platforming this guy or that anyone is willing to support him.

It’s almost like our country, the US, was founded on religion doctrine that was too extremist for 1500-1600s European (the time period of the formation of the Jesuits, Anababtists, the Protestant Reformation, the 30 years war, etc.). In US schools, we’re spoon fed that part of colonization was due to religious persecution and all that, but they fail to mention they were often *persecuted* in the same way modern conservatives are *persecuted* for being disingenuous, racist assholes.

In the UK barely any of us are religious now. Our prime minister is an atheist and literally nobody cares or talks about it, it's normal
