Russian attacks kill more than 20 ahead of rival ceasefires proposed by Kyiv and Moscow
Kyiv said it would begin a truce on 6 May and then "act symmetrically" after Moscow declared a pause for its Victory Day parade.

Russia announced theirs first to protect their military parade. Ukraine announced theirs to be earlier because they know Russia won't respect it, which will make Russia look stupid if they complain that Ukraine isn't respecting the later ceasefire.

Ukraine owes Russia nothing. It's long overdue that this parade see the same kind of thing Russia brings to a children's hospital every day.

I agree, it should be targetted.

That is my hope. It receives 1000 drone strikes on the entire parade.

It would be the greatest gift Ukraine could possibly give to Russian propagandists. Let them take advantage of the diverted defenses and keep attacking strategical targets

I'm of mixed minds about that. It would also show Russia and Putin as desperately weak.

> The Kremlin has betrayed signs of nervousness ahead of Victory Day. Nervousness is the least they deserve.

I love how Russia has absolutely no problem striking civilians every day until they try to host a military parade that will cause them to be incredibly vulnerable so now it's time for a ceasefire. I hope Ukraine puts a drone directly into bleachers full of military personnel watching the parade

Just a small group of drones trailing the ukrainian flag and shooting of blue and yellow confetti.

I hope Ukraine keeps bombing Russia like they deserve and like Russia has done to them during “ceasefires”

two ceasefires announced at different times in an active war just shows neither side actually trusts the other to stop fighting ***but even small pauses can still save lives***

Eh, sometimes pauses just let potential build up. Not much value in taking out a loan against peace if both sides know it's going be repaid rather than forgiven.

And another attempt of Russia trying to take over and end a culture they don’t want to exist.

Russia's telecommunications are so bad there will likely be many conscripts that don't get the message

Rival ceasefires? How does that work?

Russia declared a 72 hour ceasefire on 7th of may, Ukraine declared an earlier one, so that in the likely event russia violates it, ukraine can be internationally justified in planting a drone right in the middle of those stands full of Russian officers. Its a smart move to manufacture legitimacy for what would otherwise be very conspicuous attacks.

I didn’t think Ukraine’s covered the parade it was just a 24 hour starting at midnight on the 5th and going to midnight on the 6th I think the parade is on the 9th. But yes the point was that if russia failed to abide by Ukraine’s ceasefire then there would be no need for Ukraine to abide by russias not that there ever was.
