That’s like like rule number 1 in „russian politics” playbook. From beginning of 1900 era they had a specialized lab that was developing poisons and means of delivering them … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison\_laboratory\_of\_the\_Soviet\_secret\_services Yupp - those folks have a systemic enemy elimination solutions. Only thing that was decided is: do you go with a bang or silently…

Would you sir care for some polonium tea? The worst thing is they will give someone a very nasty radioactive isotope without instructing them just how dangerous it is.

Not surprised. Putin is evil incarnate.

A nuclear armed terrorist state

This is why it's so important to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from getting nuclear weapons. They will start acting more like Russia if they get nukes. They will murder, torture, r*** and kidnap with total impunity if they have nukes, just like Russia does every day, and there will be no way to hold them accountable.
-11
AnotherClimateRefuge May 7, 2026 +2
They would act like isreal acts. But, there is no credible evidence Iran was developing nuclear weapons.
2
Mad-Melvin May 8, 2026 +1
What is the current method we have for holding them accountable? Seems like they have us by the balls even without nukes.

msasti May 7, 2026 +19
This has been the norm since well before Putin and will continue to be the norm long after he's gone. The Russian people (and the Russian state by extension) cannot bear the fact that the world doesn't abide by their will. So they will throw tantrums, kill people who oppose them, lie and meddle in our affairs using whatever leverage remains. It's a nation with an imperialistic spirit which won't change soon, if ever. We can and should do everything in our power to isolate them from the civilised world.
19
Church_of_Aaargh May 7, 2026 +7
Imagine using all that effort to improve life for the Russian people instead …

Quick FYI, they’re laser focused right now on a few European elections, the smaller UK by-elections, and Macron is term-limited so FN is really aiming for a majority. After that they’re likely to switch back full to US midterms (we’ve had a pleasant lull so far but that will change), with Sweden (Sverige-demokratina are in a strong position sadly), Czechia and even Latvia (no chance to take it, but disruption matters here) as side targets. Swedish mischief is already ramping up btw, while there are probes in the midterms, mostly a lot of misogynist posts in more open forums, the theory is to energize the young, male vote while depressing women so much they stay home.

The French presidential elections are in 2027, after the midterms in the US.

For Latvia the russian bots on listnook are already going full swing, as well as other places. It will only get worse during the summer.

It's almost like we need to ID social media
-12
Vio_ May 7, 2026 +5
It's almost like the Russian bots will just fake it that much harder.

Da, comrade! We must use authoritarianism so that we don't fall to authoritarianism!

Luckily Orban got the boot finally and Russia ended up fumbling that bag. Good for Hungary. Worth noting they’re also currently backing Alberta seperatists in Canada, along with the US. Investigations are ongoing.

noir_lord May 7, 2026 +8
Also Brexit, UK national and local elections. To be fair the yanks (not all of them but the worst of them) are up to their "freedom loving" balls in that as well. Plus sustained attacks on women's rights over here.

sumregulaguy May 7, 2026 +34
Why are we allowing Russia to use our social media again?

noir_lord May 7, 2026 +16
Cui Bono? (who benefits) as always. Hint: it's not us (where us is the average citizen of the countries they are f****** about in).

Cool, so you can vote for S in the next election since their immigration policy is identical to SD at this point. (Reminder here that it was actually S that implemented most of the current rules that drastically reduced the immigration, not the current government).

Automatic-Wallaby761 May 7, 2026
Ehhh, no? They want to re-open our borders again to everyone without limits, nice try🤣 my vore will still go to SD

Cold War espionage really said ‘fine, let’s update to 2026 graphics’ 😬
71
totallyRebb May 7, 2026 +16
All Putin ever cared about was being able to live in his personal fantasy world. The Cold War was the only thing that ever gave his life any meaning. The whole world including Russia has to pay with lives and futures just so that one insane old psychopath who is stuck in the past can live out his nostalgic fantasies.
16
live-the-future May 8, 2026 +1
That is sadly applicable to so very many world leaders more obsessed with personal legacies and/or national (vain)glory instead of the future or the good of the people.
1
DrVagax May 7, 2026 +6
Well we are remaking and remastering a ton of games right now so why not the Cold War as well
6
Eastern_Hornet_6432 May 7, 2026 +9
Fun fact: apparently the West's opponents in this Second Cold War are referred to as "CRINK": China, Russia, Iran, North Korea.
9
noir_lord May 7, 2026 +2
CRINKY (the Y is for Yanks - not all of them, just the worst of them).
2
Eastern_Hornet_6432 May 7, 2026 +2
The Yanks were/are the good guys. It was the Rebs that were/are the bad guys.
2
noir_lord May 7, 2026 +3
Yank is slang for American here, yes it comes from Yankee (and predates the civil war) but no it doesn’t matter, you are yanks, whether great great grand pappy wore blue or grey. Just as we are limeys and most of us haven’t been on a Royal Navy ship.

\> Yank is slang for American here, yes it comes from Yankee (and predates the civil war) but no it doesn’t matter, you are yanks, whether great great grand pappy wore blue or grey. Oh, you just decided to fight nutjobs from about 10 different states day, I see.

so, all the nations within Europe need to pay in kind. . . .make friends with lots of Russian people, find ways in to the country, pay off Putins men and gut the f***** like a fish. . . .
18
live-the-future May 8, 2026 +3
Kinda surprised Zelenskiy hasn't tried flying a bunch of drones into and around Moscow, land them in discreet places, and just have them on standby for anytime Putie pokes his head out into public.

Great idea! Totally agree.

Russia is a malignant cancer to the world, spreading toxic hate, extremism, political upheaval, wars and misinformation.

Curious why they won't try the same with Trump /s
29
Key-Rough-8346 May 7, 2026 +49
I'm not sure I understand. Are you asking why Russia doesn't kill Trump? Trump is doing everything Putin could want a US president to do.

Sounds like Putin's chemo isn't going well.
3
Paatos May 7, 2026 +4
The difference is that if he snuffs some EU head of state, another will be elected to replace him/her. Dictators like Putin have to crawl and live in a hole somewhere in paranoid fear. And after he's gone, the whole system falls like a stack of cards (for the better or in Russia's case, even worse).
4
Aggressive_Noise6426 May 7, 2026 +2
…..why though. Can you just not?

Meanwhile, Europe continues to trade with Russia and refuses to expel the Russian ambassadors. Europe is funding its own destruction and having friendly chats with the regime that wants to destroy them. European leaders are incredibly stupid. It's time for them to impose severe diplomatic and financial consequences on Russia. It's the least they could do to defend themselves.

Lol, sure "intelligence officials"... Same ones that said Putin was dying of cancer, or gone mad and wants to expand ruzzias border to former glory, sending ukrainian children to north korea and also were running out of soldiers and materials like 3 years ago?
-6
Maxxetto May 7, 2026 -55
Probably some sort of fake propaganda. Europe is in murky waters right now, because of how compromised it is with its Israeli ties.

Well, Rothschild is Netanyahu's Lord and master, just as he was Epstein's as well, and he does pull the strings of the Global Financial industry, plus his lavish portfolio of every human trafficking and blackmail network in the world so... 🤷
