You can add the US government to that list. Weird, how the US and Putin seem to have more and more aligned goals...

the shared part there is Orban has massive links to Bibi, Orban is his man in the EU, and he Veto things for them. Kushner is doing work of Bibi, witkoff the work of putin.

I hate to defend, but it's not the US Gov. nor it's people-it's the GOP.

Turns out the Lion, while their views on sheep still need to be determined, does actually spend a lot of time being concerned with the mouse and the tangerine.

Odd that Vance just said something similar - it's almost like Russia and America are coordinating this

But of course, the American VP visiting to endorse Orban is not interferance at all, no siree!

If they didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any standards at all.

Rhetorical question, but why is Vance parading around and campaigning for foreign politicians? It’s America First I thought, not “right wingers first” They couldn’t be more blatant with their Russian sympathy if they tried
59
xpto_999 2 days ago +16
Both Russia and the US want the end of the EU. Russia backs every right wing party across Europe that is anti EU, and now the US is doing the same.

Lonely_Dingo1837 2 days ago +14
Rhetorical question but I’ll bite. It’s not specifically about Orbán but a large segment of the MAGA intelligentsia (such as they are 🙄) are based in Hungary, including political advisors to the Orbán regime. As such, Vance et al who have zero idea of the political realities in Europe think Hungary is a model to be followed for ‘conservative’ US politicians. By way of example, Orbán’s support base is largely down to corruption and diversion of state resources to buy off his voter base, and far-right ideas are prevalent but many of the regions in Europe with strong right wing support like eastern Germany were formerly communist or had large scale communist movements and this is largely a backlash against the withdrawal of a social democratic/socialist economy, which had guaranteed employment, strong social benefits, and an interventionist state that stood up for citizens. This is hardly fertile ground for blood and soil nationalism based on retrograde nationalism - in fact you can pretty well map out former strongholds for communist movements against the current far-right voter spread in Europe, but the right wing Yanks have a warped view based on what they’ve been fed by the current Hungarian regime.

I also want to add that the Republicans have a plan to dismantle the EU and replace it with their own version. Hungary is a critical base for that. Hungary is also the ideal form of democracy Republicans want: where the party wins with overwhelming majority again and again, entrenched deep and in a permanent position of power while still giving the seeming of a democracy by having opposition parties that you can technically vote for but are kept (by government money) to be always a minority and ineffectual. They want the same model that Hungary had during the Soviet Union where you can vote as long as it is for the ruling party and its selection of candidates. They think it's an actual democracy because there is slightly less theater. Orbán losing is a refutation of their ideas and models.

The Felon Administration's a puppet regime for Putin. You can see Putin's hand movements in Vance's mouth.

>Russia says some in EU are helping election rivals of Hungary's Orban Good. EU should have done more covert shit to oust Orban much earlier but, hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Viktor's gotta go. We're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past "we shouldn't interfere" part.
17
Dry_Support3290 2 days ago +14
JD Vance: Those damn Europeans doing election interference in Hungary. Also as Vice President of the US, please vote for Orban. The opposition is evil.
14
vossmanspal 2 days ago +13
If Orban does get re elected then the EU must take positive steps to change how its veto system works, one or two member countries should not be able to block what the other 25 or 26 vote for. Orban is a Russian puppet, all he wants from the EU is money.
13
Upset_Scientist3994 2 days ago +11
But then again USA interfering Hungary elections with their vice president flamboyantly doing it is at least proven. Back in good old days Kremlin was more concerned about USA interference - now it does not say a word about it, why?
11
TraditionalApricot60 2 days ago +20
The EU should do much more. The fact that people in 2026 still think of a Russian world in Europe is beyond absurd.

Russia, US, Musk, Theil, AfD and SD actively supporting Orban is fine though...just f****** fine....you know....for "reasons".

So the Russians, that are interfering to the benefit of Orban, are telling us that someone is interfering on the other side? Get the f*** out of here. And tell that eyeliner wearing, couch f***** to get back to work in the US where he belongs
5
ThePlasticSturgeons 2 days ago +5
So? Russia sent teams of people to directly influence the election in Orban’s favor. They even staged a false flag incident just days ago. This is the deep black, light absorbing pot calling the kettle black. And any way, why should any single person in the EU GAF what Peskov says?
5

3

Would be nice if Russia focused on its own problems for a change. Like the hand-mouth-foot epidemic, biblical spring floods in the poor areas of the country, oil terminals exploding on a daily basis, malfunctioning anti air missiles hitting their own civilians.

3
Karsh14 2 days ago +3
Russia and Vance and the Americans are going all out to get Orban reelected. All you need to know about him really. Literally paid EU Opposition intentionally working against his own country to the benefit of 2 outside hostile powers. It is pretty comical that Russia and America are both accusing the EU of interfering in the election process… while both are physically inserting themselves into the election process blatantly.

Is that strange to Russia that Hungary, part of the EU, is obliged to follow EU rules and be part of that community, while an outsider, a current invader of Europe who bombs hospitals deliberately, who steals children and brainwashes them, is considered an enemy and an outside hostile influencer in Hungary ?
1

Countries with no political opposition are not qualified to talk
1
H0163R 2 days ago +1
Whenever the Trump administration or Russia lies about someone doing something, it is often because they themselves are doing exactly that. That’s why the lie can seem so plausible and realistic - they know the full background and simply change who is responsible. In most cases, it is actually only Russia and/or Trump who are doing the very things they accuse others of.
1
Cultural_Time_6005 2 days ago +1
So are they, So what? Russia and their puppet US are meddling in Hungary for a long time, is it time for the EU to balance the scale?

i think ultimately EU should just kick Hungry out, it's a rotten apple, they are a RU and US asset, if they are so fond of Putin just leave and became a Russian state

1
RursusSiderspector 2 days ago +1
Yes, some. Journalists and "leaks" that are quite legal in EU, in contradistinction to what's the case in Russia. The "leaks" could perhaps be Hungarians that are annoyed by Fidesz people phoning Russia in the middle of secret EU negotiations. Almost everybody in EU are opposed to Orbán, in particular the common EU citizen, so they could be just everywhere.
