Nuclear tsunamis. Remember how they opened with that?
Or threatening north European countries that it would immediately regret it if they joined NATO. They joined NATO and there was no response.

We've already had to deal with (and laugh) at their claim that they can sink the entire UK with a sarmat missile.
This is nothing new. Putin raised the nuclear spectre at the start of the Ukraine war to try and scare countries off supporting Ukraine.

Putin is definitely insane, you don’t throw your own people into a meat grinder just to r***, murder and pillage another nation unless you’re batshit crazy. Trump is just so ridiculously incompetent he makes all the other dictators look good by comparison. They were at least qualified for their roles as evil despots, Trump was a trust fund baby whose greatest personal achievement was hosting a reality show.

Honestly, if Russia could have just sat peacefully over the last 15 years, continued to do extremely profitable business with Europe and just waited for the right moment, they would have been positioned extremely well to be a viable alternative to the US. It would have been the biggest “told you so” moment (kind of like France) and could have paved the way for integrating with the rest of Europe on an equal basis.
But they had to go for war of aggression…

Russia has half the population of the US and hardly has a middle class, so nowhere close to the same consumer base; it would never be a viable alternative to the US, economically speaking.

You have to treat Russian comments and motives like an electron: you can know where it is, but not what it's doing there; you can know what it's doing, but not who it's doing it for; or you can know where it's doing it, and who it's doing it for, but you don't know what it is.

You can't. If you don't understand that, then you are dumb. Ukraine does not have religious zealots in control of the government and Ukraine does not have any regional ambitions at all.

The issue is that Iran recognised they agreed to an end to hostilities in the 12 day war to easily. As it just allowed the US to regroup and strike again.
So they want the message to really arrive by drawing it out. Some reports say they want to drag it till the election in November.

Ultimatums are guaranteed to make things worse. Russia knows this. Russia also knows that telling trump he's doing it wrong will only cause him to double down to prove his rightness. Russia knows this also. Since Russia ultimately wants the outcome to be a more crippled US, this is a great play for them, they are playing trump like a fiddle and they'll achieve exactly what they want: a more crippled and less respected US in the end.
It's just unfortunate that the entire administration and half of America are too stupid to see it happening right before their eyes.

The entire power of ultimatums is that it forces the other party to act or else something bad happens. If they can be ignored because you go back to negotiating or move the deadline to another date, then it's not a real ultimatum.
