No Trump fixed this for them when he bombed Iran. 2026 is going to be a good year for russian oil

Thankfully the Ukranians burned all their Baltic export ports and are blockading their Black sea export hub.

I wish they could do something to the eastern delivery system.

Good thing about it is that, at least as far as gas is concerned, it is not as developed as the western one because EU used to be their best customers and building pipelines takes time.
19
socialistrob Apr 1, 2026 +1
> and building pipelines takes time. Also Siberia is vast. Historically Russia has also avoided linking too much of Eastern Siberia to the rest of Asia because they've also been worried about losing the region. The fastest way to develop Siberia would be to build a ton of roads, railways and pipelines to China and nearby countries while also allowing in immigrants from those countries yet Russia has refused to do this because Eastern Siberia is a lot closer to Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo than Moscow. If you'll look at a map there are very few north-south roads but tons of East-west roads. Also the Chinese cities around Vladivostok are typically bigger than Vladivostok despite not having coastal access.

Which one, the Iran War or Trump removing Russian oil sanctions?
2
Dark_World_Blues Apr 1, 2026 +93
Maybe now is a good time for Putin to give back Ukraine's lands and negotiate for peace.
93
AloneUA Apr 1, 2026 +53
Maybe it would've been if Trump didn't skyrocket the oil prices and lift the sanctions on Russia.
53
sumregulaguy Apr 1, 2026 +8
Russia never negotiates anything, it just waits for everyone to convince themselves that if they give Russia something, it will be satisfied.
8
Frequent-Biscotti472 Apr 1, 2026 +4
Nah, putin will put himself first before russia. This war preserves his power. The moment he shows signs of weakness or backing down, he's one bad decision away from a very unfortunate window accident.

That is kind of loss that higher revenue from selling oil can't cover the deficit.

...this accounting story seems timed to offset the current reality of unprecedented profitability
11
daHaus Apr 1, 2026 +11
It's just what's known as a lagging indicator. With all the extremely obvious conspiracies going on right now there's no need to make up pointless ones Unless maybe your conspiracy is just a red herring to distract people from the real ones going on?
11
causeimamoth Apr 1, 2026 -3
You gotta think critically about timing

GeraltTheOld Apr 1, 2026 +2
While income dropped significantly due to Russia taking a lot more from the company, the revenue only dropped by 18.8% since 2024. TBH I would expect a bigger drop due to all the sanctions and Ukraine bombing their production facilities.
2
PresidentKraznov Apr 1, 2026 +2
And they're going to be up by 500% in 2026, because 🤡🥭 handed them unlimited profits when he bombed Iran.

That's the money that the company can keep, the rest was taken by taxes for Kremlin. Says basically nothing.

foeg-88 Apr 1, 2026 +1
Rapidly going up probably. Our president is a Russian spy and is allowing them to sell oil again. Shameful.

blackbartimus Apr 1, 2026 -1
Europe is now in an energy crisis again and you’re all delusional if you think Russia isn’t going to be making bank off it. This is such a bad sub so not surprised but how are you all pretending the unprovoked war against Iran caused by Israel and The US doesn’t mean oil is going to skyrocket. Even beyond oil, now fertilizers and helium will both be in desperately low supply and Russia happens to also have both. Wish-casting for the Russian economy to magically collapse is going nowhere. There are no credible economic analysis’s who would state otherwise but it seems like this silly sub is still pretending things are going swell.

This is why Trump had to go to war with Iran to push up oil prices and create an excuse to un-embargo Russia. The country was going to go bankrupt.
