Much of this country rightfully understands that he would have likely been killed for doing anything more than he did while in office. Many wanted him dead before inauguration. He did mostly the best that he could with a party that didn’t always have his back the way that the Republican Party has had Trump’s. Making sure to do everything by the letter and spirit of the law resulted in less progress than could have been achieved. He wasn’t a saint and nobody believes that he was. He did the best that anyone could have expected of someone who most of the country wanted to see fail.
