I spurn the idea that Melania has anything that should be glorified with the term "vision."

I teach college. Every semester I ask my students what the most impactful class they’ve taken has been as an icebreaker. There’s a common thread in all their answers—the classes where they felt that they had an engaged teacher who encouraged them to do their best are rated the highest. Kids need to hear from a person that they are valuable. Human connection fosters resilience.

Oh yes. Let's entrust the most important job there is to ai. Not like its notorious for making shit up or pulling from joke sites because it can't tell the difference. And then there's the part where ai is the ultimate yes man. Some kid will argue with the "teacher" which will then be like "oh you're right. Monster is healthier for you than water."

> Let's entrust the most important job there is to ai Problem is too many don't see it as an important job, let alone the most important. Education of the massess is the last thing on the right's mind.

Well yeah. You have to be un- or poorly educated to be a right winger if you're not richer than Croesus. Or have brain damage i guess.

Monster is absolutely healthier for you They use water in toilets for a reason, plus it doesn't have the electrolytes plants crave

lol. Even regressives (at least some of them) wouldn't feel comfortable sending their kids to school to be looked after by Elon's fail robots.

They will just send their kids to private schools while advocating for robot teachers in public schools. Something like this will absolutely happen soon. I think the more likely scenario is video screens with pre scripted lessons replacing teachers. Every public school in Florida could be covered by a dozen or so of the same teachers on tv.

Private schools will brand it as having “organic teachers”.

Yet it will probably end up with just the public school kids knowing how to read and write.  And the terminators won’t let their wards get trafficked.

I dunno Robots are just a homeopathic form of teacher

Snoo-7943 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Huh? You think that republicans will somehow be able to afford to send all of their kids to private schools? Nah. They'll be just as affected.

Showing someone a glossy picture of robots does not give them "vision".

I've seen enough tv series with THAT kind of robots pictured as part of our future unfortunately.

Humans are evolutionarily designed to learn from other humans. The current disastrous state the Ipad AI generations are in terms of education is proof of that. These technologies have atrophied developing minds. Not helped them. There was some interviews with Sam Altman awhile ago that actually demonstrated this. He was talking about AI learning tools but revealed he personally takes notes. Because the act of writing things down actually improves your ability to memorize them. He f****** knows this and promotes the opposite. People who copy paste chatGPT? They memorize how to copy and paste. Not the information.

There's also the degrading of empathy. Machines don't take offense or look for underlying meaning in discussion. If you remove the primary interaction with adults out side the core family, children will develop a lopsided emotional response to others. It's the equivalent of "Lord of the Flies" with an electric referee.

"You have received an F." "no I did not, in fact, I received a perfect score" "You are absolutely correct, you received a perfect score. I am so sorry - let me amend my records to reflect your true score."

I hate this timeline so goddamn much. Every day. Every goddamn day i wake up and there is some new shit that is the worst thing ever. It just never stops. I want to live in the timeline where Obama never roasted trump at that event in 2011, trump never went into politics, and we elected democrats. Maybe in that shard of the multiverse we got universal healthcare…but even if we didnt, it would be a shitload better than this one.

RealGianath Mar 27, 2026 +5
The Trump roast really had nothing to do with Trump wanting to be president. He was already groomed by Putin and told he needs to start paying him back for all those favors and dirt he has on him, and destroying the country was what was agreed upon.

gunslinger_006 Mar 27, 2026 +2
I swear to the old gods that someone in 2011 made a wish that said “I wish trump would get roasted publicly by obama for the world to see” and the monkeys paw was like “hold my beer…”.

I have a vision of a robot replacing Melania Trump. It would be hard to find one with that little personality, though.

Any chance of AI replacing Congress?

Kids already break the calculators, laptops and every other piece of equipment that we give them. We are going to put a robot in the room with them? I am a teacher. Melania Trump is just as evil and stupid as her husband.

This is exactly what people with no humanity propose, like seriously, none. They are empty. My wife was a grade 2 teacher in an inner city US school. She has kids reaching out to her twenty years later on Facebook telling her what an inspiration she was on their life. She was a black woman standing up in a classroom showing (mostly) black kids what a role model looked like. Someone with kindness and care who could manage the behavioural issues, listen to the problems, and, oh my god, teach!! Do these people not understand children? What would they do with a robot? Teaching is often about discipline (and the best teachers do it with empathy, showing they care, and presenting models of humanity). Does the robot go scary red face? Does it activate discipline mode (what does that look like?) What happens if the kid tries to run or lashes out at the robot? What an utterly, utterly terrifying picture of the future. We are being led by soulless lizard peoples.
