As a Filipino, this matter gets even more infuriating when the current Senate that's suppose to handle the VP's impeachment gets "coup-ed" and replaced by pro-Duterte Senators in the "last minute". And our d******* Benito Mussolini here(Bato Dela Rosa) that didn't show up to work in the previous days(and now has an ICC arrest warrant) shows up just to help in said Senate coup.

How does the Senate get "coup-ed" at the last minute?  Aren't senators elected and not spur-of-the-moment appointed? Not familiar with Philippines politics are all

The block that supports Duterte are the majority block but only 12 of the 24 senators (the philippines only has 24 senators) were present so they couldn't pass a motion to replace the Senate president who would allow an impeachment hearing once the housed passed it. Cue Dela Rosa who's been absent from the Senate for months being the 13th vote to declare a majority vote to remove the Senate president and everyone else in major committees. The reason he's been absent for months is there's been a looming ICC arrest warrant for him which was served today and the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) was supposed to stop him from entering the chamber because of the warrant but he managed to make it into the Senate chamber (after a hilarious chase up the stairs where he even tripped as seen in the CCTV footage) to cast his vote. So now the Senate could shoot down the motion from the house as they have enough votes to basically pass whatever motion they want. And there's a Senate precedent as well that any senator has immunity from arrest so long as the Senate is in session. And with the Senate president now on their side, this could become a really long stand off.

It’s weird how people still follow decorum and procedures when what you said seems to be shit hitting the fan. “Awww shucks he was able to run upstairs and write his signature on a paper! I guess we gotta do what he wants now!”

What's worse the Senate had no power to protect him or anyone from arrest. 'The Senate reiterates that it possesses no constitutional or statutory authority to provide 'protective custody' or sanctuary from lawful arrest, surrender, or judicial processes,' the Senate resolution reads' The NBI and police is still outside and even had physical confrontation with the Sargent staff of Senate security This shit is embarrassing TBH. There are like 3 senators who aren't clowns there.

Nobody cares about Duterte and the Philippines. None of the monumental news of ICC arrest and impeachment involving the notorious Duterte has ever made it a huge world news headline.

The people of the country care enough to fight for their future.

Agree 100%. These are political games being played by the same feudal families that have centralized power and wealth over centuries. With good governance, the Philippines could have been a South Korea, Singapore, or Taiwan. Instead we're the laughingstock of Asia.
