Withheld from the US public. Foreign adversaries have their own satellites.

We will still get to see everything. They can't stop other countries normal news from making it onto the internet.

Miner_239 5 days ago +161
Oh they'll censor it in the name of foreign misinformation propaganda, don't you worry

If I was a three letter agency I would have bought up all the VPN companies and pretended they were functioning private entities like 20 years ago.

fishyhaworthia1 5 days ago +16
After it was found out the FBI starts tracking you the minute you sign up for a vpn ? Lmao
16
ViolettaQueso 5 days ago +15
Exactly. Not an accident I saw the VPN use triggers CIA tracking of US citizens this morning on multiple sources.
15
lonehorse1 5 days ago +24
All they’re going to find is me watching Canadian and British public television.
24
ViolettaQueso 5 days ago +21
Exactly. Just make sure you don’t accidentally watch Jimmy Kimmel on your vpn lol
21
lonehorse1 4 days ago +1
Oh I’ll turn off the VPN and blast it as loud as I can so they know full well where I’m located in those instances.

Stop using commercial VPNs and run your own. There are prebuilt images with Wireguard

They could censor what americans see sure but not the rest of us.

heeeeres_jonny 5 days ago +35
Are they really gonna Streisand effect themselves again? We all know how well it worked for them when they tried to censor Talarico when he went on Colbert's show. I had no interest in these satellite images before but now I kinda do...

Find_another_whey 5 days ago +18
So long as there are other countries Media freedom in Australia doesn't let us see these images We get a prime minister repeating Israeli talking points though

Lmao, remember when all the Republicans lost their shit over government overreach with regards to private companies? This certainly feels like the government trying to control what a private company does.

Seems like these companies will have a lot more business tomorrow morning: - Airbus Defence and Space: France/Germany; at least daily revisit capacity globally. - ICEYE: Finland; sub-daily (multiple times per day) persistent monitoring. - Satellogic: Uruguay; up to 4 times a day for specific points of interest. - Axelspace: Japan; aiming for 1–3 day revisits with their growing constellation. - Synspective: Japan; daily monitoring capabilities using SAR (radar) technology. - e-GEOS: Italy; daily revisit capabilities through the COSMO-SkyMed

This feels really stupid move because now my mind is filling in the "winning" we aren't being shown. USAs accuracy below expectation, more holes where schools used to be? USA's damage to their bases and equipment worse than we know? Some sort of environmental catastrophy about to happen due to war crimes? Masses of refugees heading out to another country? (Remember the hordes heading from south America to the US?) Iran has now got well defended sites moving quickly toward nukes? How badly did you scew up mr president?

Laundry fire in the Newest Carrier in the fleet. Multiple Reapers downed. Multiple F15s shot down. Munitions used more in a month of fighting than in decades of the War on Terror. Currently there are 3 f****** carrier strike Groups in the area.... These are levels of power projection that should bring a nation to its knees yet.... Going on 2 months. They fucked up massively. Legendary levels of bag fumbling

Oh so war crimes are being committed. Hegseth is doing a holy war because he is a religious nutjob.

100% this. The masks are coming off the Christian nationalists controlling this country.

This needs to be underlined by news agencies. This is a holy war crusade. Start calling it that.
4
Thunderclone_1 4 days ago +1
No, don't the edgy crusade larpers will join up in droves for their opprotunity to kill muslims.
1
techleopard 4 days ago +2
Good. Let them get a taste of what deployment actually is. An awful lot of millennial kids grew up during 9/11 talking about carpet bombing Afghanistan and then promptly discovered what war actually was when they turned 18-19 and signed up to serve.

This does not seem like an overreaching government at all
161
TheMightySet69 5 days ago +65
But a government simple asking social media companies to moderate content that was believed to be misinformation or disinformation about a global pandemic was tyranny.

Whatsamatter, scared that the true and ugly depths of our actual terrorism would come out and turn public opinion?
77
Impending_Dm 5 days ago +20
Nah, public opinion is already against them, and they are mentally incapable of ever acknowledging that the things they do could be immoral. What they're scared of is the public realizing they're losing and seeing them as weak.
20
UnitSmall2200 5 days ago +3
I'm afraid only about 57% are against them. About 40% still support them.

The US is about to unleash the most inhumane bombing of a civilian population since the fire bombing of Japan in March 1945. Can't have images of that circulating among the American populace.
18
luthier_john 5 days ago +5
So they're gonna censor the war from us? So we won't ever know what's going on. They know the people are against it, they know it's pointless. They had no other choice. This country is in the shitter and the way to take it out is to mobilize the superior military to seize resources and conquer foreign land. They tried with Greenland, they tested it out in Venezuela, now we're balls deep in Iran. Where's the domestic US manufacturing? This is a great time for alternative power sources to take off, for research to usher in the next era of prosperity, etc. Instead, we're wasting resources fighting needlessly amongst ourselves. Bad monkeys

US censorship at Trumps request of course

“War” images support the position that this is actually war, not a “military operation.” Can’t have that. Actual war requires proper oversight from elected officials.

Any free speachers want to chime in?

Imbendo 5 days ago +5
Planet labs is only one of over 26 different companies that provide satellite data to the private sector. And seeing how the majority of war images we get are filmed with cell phones or released by militaries, their gesture is largely symbolic.
