I know recency bias is a thing but that final scene between JD and Cox was one of my favourite scenes from the entire series. Beautiful and wonderful acting from Braff and McGinley.

My favorite scene is when Kelso kicks a door off its hinges to be emphatic and Turk goes, “sir, the door was open.” Or when the janitor asked where his “thank you” was for cleaning the bathrooms. >Turk: Janitor, the bathrooms are *filthy*. >Janitor: well no one was thanking me so I quit cleaning them!

They were both incredible. Some amazing acting and great lines. Also felt like quite a natural progression from the serious scenes they had in the original run.

clamroll Apr 10, 2026 +122
He was hard on JD because he saw potential in him. Cox's line that he's "the only person I trust to give a damn about this place" hit like a truck. Also hitting him with "oldie" instead of newbie was *chef's kiss* perfect lol

TheSwampThing1990 Apr 10, 2026 +45
100% this. It’s not even hidden from the audience at all. There is a moment within the first 10 episodes of season 1 where Cox is talking to a medical board about how amazing JD is and how he has the potential to be a fantastic doctor

sey1 Apr 10, 2026 +9
I feel like Gordon Ramsey is such a person. Sure he will shout at mistakes you make, but he is also the first to compliment somebody when he does a good job
9
TheSwampThing1990 Apr 10, 2026 +17
Gordon Ramsey is also hard because thats his USA personality. He is totally different if you watch a UK based show he is in. Nice and relaxed. Seems like a good guy. In the USA they make him play a character
17
prazulsaltaret Apr 10, 2026 +3
Anything that isn t live has a script. I am sure he is told what to do on UK TV as well.
3
swiftie_bestie Apr 10, 2026 +9
That 'oldie' line was a clean knockout.
9
appletinicyclone Apr 10, 2026 +1
The oldie bit was fantastic haha
1
Jeff-IT Apr 10, 2026 +24
And when he told Reed one of his biggest failures would have been her quitting. Was nice to see

Fire_Otter Apr 10, 2026 +8
I’m glad they had Recalibration of their relationship and that Elliot had a slight new found appreciation for Cox’s tough love teaching style I never really liked the direction they took in later seasons that Elliot believed Dr Cox was never there for her and never took the time to mentor her He punched Kelso because he was trying to bully Elliot into quitting. He helped her out and guided her multiple times. Yes not much as JD but that mainly because JD put so much effort into having a mentor relationship with Cox.

ich_bin_alkoholiker Apr 9, 2026 +20
I watched it before work this morning. Had a good cry.

rh_3 Apr 10, 2026 +8
Truly an amazing scene

DaveShadow Apr 10, 2026 +8
Man, I knew he'd be sick, the way the episode was progressing. But as someone with an auto-immune condition myself, it really hit like a tonne of bricks. Really appreciate it will shine more light onto autoimmune conditions though.
8
tarrsk Apr 10, 2026 +6
I really appreciated that they gave JD the line about modern treatment modalities and survivability of Cox’s autoimmune disorder. It reminded me of how The West Wing was able to help normalize multiple sclerosis.

Tbh I’ve been kind of shocked how much I liked this reboot. I fully expected it to be terrible and hateable, but it’s like 80-90% as good as the original IMO. Obviously the complete loss or limited appearances of some of the main side characters hurts it a bit, but the show was really always primarily about JD and Turk’s bromance and the new characters they’ve brought in have held their own to round out the rest of the storylines. And obviously Sarah Chalke is still great as the only other principal to come back full-time.

ryguy2 Apr 10, 2026 +22
Couldn’t have said it better. I think the T-Mobile ads made me start rolling my head at Zach & Donald and subconsciously thought this would be a money grab and they’d cheese it up. Never been more pleased to be wrong. The revival has been great!
22
coatimundos Apr 10, 2026 +14
The T-mobile ads are actually what gave the push for this reboot to happen.
14
Puzzleheaded_Fix594 Apr 10, 2026 +43
Maybe a hot take here, but I think the new side characters are up to par or even better than some of the characters in the original series. Vanessa Bayer's character in particular is great. Excellent replacement for Sam Lloyd. Easily the funniest character on the show. I also love the two nurses. Those two actors have such good chemistry playing off each other. I want more of them. My only real complaint is the pacing of the series. They're juggling so many different primary characters that they're shoving D, E, and F plots into each episode. Five interns is just way too many. They should've cut down on one or two. The only ones that feel that essential are the British doctor and the Homeschooled surgeon.
43
TheNerdChaplain Apr 10, 2026 +20
Vanessa Bayer only gets MAYBE one or two scenes per episode, but there's always at least one line that makes me absolutely crack up.
20
coatimundos Apr 10, 2026 +24
“He’s not an employee… I have no power over him” And “what if hell, is real” Both cracked me up.
24
Arafax Apr 10, 2026 +12
Or her talking about the British intern being exotic but safe!
12
LuckyLunayre Apr 10, 2026 +2
She is absolutely one of my favorite characters even including old scrubs. The what if hell is real line solidified her for me. I was laughing so hard during her meeting with Elliot where she switched to friend mode
2
sumadeumas Apr 10, 2026 +1
You can’t say that!
1
coatimundos Apr 10, 2026 +4
I actually love all the new interns. Shame they can’t get more focus.
4
Pool_Shark Apr 12, 2026 +1
Pacing is off because commercials eat up more time in 2026 and run time for a 30-min network show is lower than it used to be
1
dariusthegr8 Apr 10, 2026 -10
I like the show but I don’t like any of the interns. Like at all. Their characters and acting are just not doing it for me. All the new characters that are seasoned adults are good. I don’t like the sassy black nurses either. I’m basically watching for episodes like the first and this last one. That’s the scrubs I like. Ppl talk so bad about season 9 but I’d take those interns over these any day of the week. The acting alone was just better by them.
-10
coatimundos Apr 10, 2026 +5
I also didn’t like the nurses. Laverne was a much deeper character that filled the same role. These 2 feel more like stereotypes.
5
Puzzleheaded_Fix594 Apr 10, 2026 +6
Oh, I have the opposite opinion. I think the two nurses are great. They just took Nurse Roberts character and split it into two characters. The interns are fine acting wise. I particularly like Layla Mohammadi as Amara (had to look up her name though). She's far up and above the best of the bunch. My issue is that there's just too many of them. Should've focused on two or three.
6
dariusthegr8 Apr 10, 2026 +1
Laverne was a much more grounded person. She seemed like someone that could’ve been a part of my family rather than a sassy black caricature. They do waaaaaay too much neck rolling and tik tok talking for me. As far as the interns the only ones I even sorta like are the surgeons. Only when they are talking to each other or Turk though. The other three can disappear.
1
mist3rdragon Apr 10, 2026 +3
I think they've done a good job of walking the line between capturing the essence of the original show without just burying their heads in the sand and pretending that time hasn't passed or nothing has changed. Pretty rare with these sorts of continuations.

soopastar Apr 10, 2026 +2
Carla?
2
ill0gitech Apr 10, 2026 +18
Not back full time yet. She’s had commitments on High Potential
18
ian9outof10 Apr 10, 2026 +23
The episode she was in significantly was really good though. Classic scrubs managing to tackle a real issue and making it incredibly meaningful.
23
Sherringdom Apr 10, 2026 +2
Yeah it was brilliant. The last two eps have been genuinely up there with the original run
2
ScyllaOfTheDepths Apr 10, 2026 +4
She's really good on it. I like her against Jennifer Jason Leigh. There's nothing a subtly homoerotic antagonistic villain can't improve.
4
coatimundos Apr 10, 2026 +5
She’s in half the episodes, and next season Judy Reyes said she wants to be in full time
5
CarefulClassic9204 Apr 13, 2026 +1
I wish Carla was in it more. Loved the episode with her going through menopause.
1
ScyllaOfTheDepths Apr 10, 2026 -6
I just hate Vanessa Bayer in this. Her character is not funny and every bit she does is like a bad SNL skit. She's not funny, she's just loud and delivers all her lines in a projecting stage voice.

This'll fill the Shrinking void for me. I hope it doesn't take two years

PiFlavoredPie Apr 9, 2026 +78
Scrubs is a network TV show, so it’ll be in the next broadcast season.
78
yestobob Apr 9, 2026 +6
Is it still? Isn’t this revival for some streamer?
6
PiFlavoredPie Apr 9, 2026 +46
Nope it’s an ABC show.

yestobob Apr 10, 2026 +12
Oh nice

Dont_Eat_Apples Apr 10, 2026 +11
Is shrinking good? Been meaning to get into it. I know you probably love it but just wondering the vibe. I love scrubs and ted lasso and also loved Jason Segel in HIMYM. I am a little younger than the middle aged vibe that the show seems to have, so wondering it's still good ? (Not an age diss, just feels less relatable from what I've seen the topic is about).
11
ThatWasFred Apr 10, 2026 +28
It is uplifting and healing like Ted Lasso is. It is funny in a similar way to both Ted Lasso and Scrubs. The main characters span from ages 17-80, but are all relatable IMO. Since you love Scrubs, Ted Lasso, and Jason Segel, I think you will really like Shrinking. Just fair warning that the first episode or two are a little heavy due to the show’s initial premise, but it’s worth it.
28
ScyllaOfTheDepths Apr 10, 2026 +2
I had just experienced a loss when I started watching it and it was not a good decision. I'll see about going back to it at some point, bit  not right now. Not for a while.
2
floonrand Apr 10, 2026 +3
I was hit hard by the show at first, as it goes on it’s just felt like warm hug after warm hug. It’s one of my favorite shows now. I laugh, I cry, I laugh some more.
3
MyStationIsAbandoned Apr 10, 2026 +1
will it make me cry? i'm avoiding sad stuff. life is too hard and sad enough. i need happy, everything is okay always shows, lol.
1
ThatWasFred Apr 11, 2026 +2
It starts off sad, and may indeed make you cry. The catharsis of the show is how it shows the characters improving their lives. So it is not really a sad show. Personally I find a lot of comfort in seeing people reach toward happiness after a long time in darkness.
2
Nahdudeimdone Apr 10, 2026 +8
You'll love it probably. I think it gets a bit heavy on the toxic positivity, but I think for many people, considering the times, it's good with something uplifting and inspiring for once.
8
thisgrub4u Apr 10, 2026 +4
Shrinking is a win for me and am a fan of anything Bill Lawerence does!
4
yoycatt Apr 10, 2026 +4
Love Shrinking. It gets very heavy at points but much like scrubs maintains an air of levity throughout. My biggest criticism, genuinely as dumb as it sounds, is that they’ve had two season finales now that to me would have been perfect endings to the show. So when they do eventually end it, if they don’t manage to match either of those heights it’s going to be a disappointment.
4
LimeyOtoko Apr 10, 2026 +2
It’s really good - Bill Lawrence is also currently working on Rooster, which is ALSO really good, and is where John C. McGinley has been this year.
2
UntilTmrw Apr 10, 2026 +23
Shrinking is basically yearly. Season 1 aired from January-March 2023. Season 2 aired in the fall-winter of 2024 and would’ve prob come out sooner had it not been for the strikes delaying everything. Season 3 began airing 13 months after season 2 wrapped.
23
magicmukka Apr 10, 2026 +5
Rooster is doing a good job of that for me, Zac Braff directs a few episodes too.
5
guardian87 Apr 10, 2026 +1
I like the show as well, but the colour palette throws me off every time. I can’t put my finger on it, but the show looks so different. It looks more like true detective then a comedy show.

Makes sense. Both are produced by Bill Lawrence. You can add in Rooster too, his other show currently running.

Cheatercheaterbitch Apr 9, 2026 +2
I mean it definitely took less than 2 years between season 2 and 3
2
scottmacharvey Apr 10, 2026 +2
Check out Rooster

browncharliebrown Apr 9, 2026 +81
Zach Braff posted a picture of the Neil ( the Janitor in a suit). So I think it might be reveal that he might be the owner of the hospitial
81
24kevin Apr 10, 2026 +45
that would be a good twist! I for some reason always thought he would wind up being Harp Ladies Dad
45
Calm_Memories Apr 10, 2026 +15
Woah, that would be a twist.
15
NotInMyButt Apr 10, 2026 +29
I think he was in an episode of Shrinking that Zach directed and wore a suit in that.
29
KennyMoose32 Apr 10, 2026 +42
What? A janitor can’t wear a suit? Is that what you’re saying?
42
kirinmay Apr 10, 2026 +20
Does his Janitor wife and Janitor kids also wear a suit?
20
jenorama_CA Apr 10, 2026 +6
Maybe he really became Dr Jan Itor!
6
greendakota99 Apr 10, 2026 +1
From his The Fugitive residuals!

Fire_Otter Apr 10, 2026 +1
Could you imagine if he was chairman of the hospital board JD would essentially answer to him
1
soopastar Apr 10, 2026 +11
I f****** love this series.
11
TroublesomeTurnip Apr 10, 2026 +22
I find myself loving Dr. Park as an intelligent foil to JD, as opposed to Sibby.
22
coatimundos Apr 10, 2026 +7
I’m the opposite. I find Sibby hilarious, but Park is just so over the top mean in a way I don’t like.
7
CarefulClassic9204 Apr 13, 2026
Dr. Park is so arrogant and unlikable. Sibby is funny at least.
0
_LyleLanley_ Apr 10, 2026 +4
I think the reboot is incredibly savvy in the joke structure and writing. I’ve noticed the more millennial leaning jokes are between the older cast, and the more Gen Z jokes are between the younger cast. When they cross pollinate they do a good job. Example makes a joke about b**** to an older cast mate, but if he did it with a younger cast person it might come off creepy, or inappropriate. The balance has been really solid overall. The older cast acting has obviously gotten a lot better. Donald is always playing himself, but he’s just a super charismatic dude.
4
AwesomeScreenName Apr 11, 2026 +1
> the more millennial leaning jokes are between the older cast Gen X. Zach, Donald, and Sarah are all Gen X.
1
_LyleLanley_ Apr 11, 2026 +3
No shit. The prime demo of original show were people born in the early -mid 80s. Better luck next time though.
3
TBTrpt3 Apr 10, 2026 +12
My only complaint with this show is the amount of ADR in it. Once you notice it it is incredibly distracting.
12
Sherringdom Apr 10, 2026 +3
The delivery and mix is generally pretty good but they’ve got to stop using angles where you can see the actors mouth not moving. There were at least two shots of Turk in one of the recent eps that was so obvious
3
TBTrpt3 Apr 10, 2026 +1
Or when JD is hugging Carla and it is obviously a different person with a wig...
1
jenorama_CA Apr 10, 2026 +6
It was wild seeing him as Dr Cox because we immediately watched an ep of Rooster right after. Whiplash! Fun fact— the ep was directed by Zach Braff.
6
MarketingOne5455 Apr 10, 2026 +2
I miss the janitor

Just watched the first illness episode.  Anyone know what's happened to his voice? Seems pretty bad
1
wrathmont Apr 10, 2026 +1
I take that to mean he will be fine. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking though.
1
Sherringdom Apr 10, 2026 +1
I think it’s how they’ll keep him in the show regularly without having to undo JD as chief. He’ll be a regular patient
1
kirby2000 Apr 10, 2026 -1
It's a shame it won't be as a Doctor though. I like Doctor Cox better than Perry the (im)patient.
-1
ThatDudeKdoc13 Apr 10, 2026 -15
Glad he’s going to be coming back more. There’s a gap where he should be, and no one else has filled that in. Jorden? Eh, can take or leave. But it doesn’t feel right without Dr. Cox….and Ted.
-15
FloridaMMJInfo Apr 10, 2026 +24
Yeah well we definitely will not have any Ted in this revival
24
bigredthesnorer Apr 10, 2026 +6
I did not know that Ted is dead. I'm disappointed as I was hoping for his quartet to come back.
6
Fire_Otter Apr 10, 2026 +2
The new bar all the hospital staff frequent in the show is called Lloyd’s as a tribute to the actor who played Ted - Sam Lloyd
2
ThatDudeKdoc13 Apr 10, 2026 +6
Sadly, yes. But I still miss his presence.
6
AJayToRemember27 Apr 10, 2026 +5
I gotta say, I am really enjoying Sibby as a Ted replacement of sorts. Very different to Ted but Vanessa Bayer is great in the role!
5
wrathmont Apr 10, 2026 +9
Jordan’s semi-regular appearances are part of the DNA of this show
9
