That 'Summer Breeze' is a gorgeous song. Godspeed.

One of the best slow rock songs.

Love it and we call it yacht rock type of music

I tend to react more like Donald Fagen when he heard the term Yacht Rock in the documentary of the same title.

They did a fanatic live version on Old Grey Whistle Test.

Thank you. I just listened to it and it is fantastic. I love this stripped down version. A little more simple than the studio recording.

Summer Breeze was my mom and dad’s song. Mom passed away nearly 2 months ago. They were married 53 years. I can still hear my mom singing this song as she cooked or cleaned the house. Miss you, mom.

*See the smile awaitin' in the kitchen* *Food cookin' and the plates for two* *Feel the arms that reach out to hold me* *In the evening when the day is through* This is in our setlist, love the track.

So many will be the blessings and so short will the time, I'll stay with you.

Hummingbird is one of the most beautifully composed songs. Rest in peace.

Yeah that bridge with the "Don't fly away" modulations - good heavens - just gorgeous.

yes, what a cool and interesting song, definitely very experimental for the time period. I also love "diamond girl" for this reason. RIP Dash 💜

The Seals & Crofts band member was best known for creating the hit song, Summer Breeze, in the 1970s. His death was first announced by producer Louie Shelton early Thursday morning.

Their performance of Diamond Girl on The Midnight Special was so good.

What a blast from the past. I was not expecting to see Louis Shelton or Jeff Porcaro.

The Type O Negative cover of Summer Breeze is my favorite version aside from the original.

Why wouldn’t they use the first names if he went by Dash?! Jim and Dash > Seals and Croft

They second one is a real TIL.

Suspicious-Proposal3 Mar 26, 2026 +1
It was before? I thought Jim was the older brother.

Both were strong anti-abortion advocates. They wrote an entire album (Unborn Child) dedicated to this theme against the advice of their label.

What does this have to do with anything being said?

Summer Breeze is no more more.

Bummer. I know these guys were considered soft rock but they were excellent songwriters and musicians. Having Louie Shelton as their producer and guitarist really helped too

This truly saddens me. Their music was our soundtrack from the 60’s and 70’s.

His harmonies were glorious. One of my favourites is Don’t Fail from the album Get Closer.

The beatles are next. Oh no

For your reference. "Seals" cap. "Crofts" no cap.
