Potentially related news: break-in of an apartment in the same complex towards end of April 2026; suspect matches description of murder suspect in the current thread. https://www.fox13seattle.com/news/reak-in-suspect-matches-description

I hope they took fingerprints. Sounds like something was going to happen in that apartment complex with that person. Not sure if he was a tennant but truly got his hands on the first person they could get.

The scariest part is how quickly stories like this stop shocking people.

This happened twice at my college. Haruka Weiser and Harrison Brown. So yeah, not really shocked. Just saddened.

I went to Washington state university when that law student drove over to university of Idaho and killed 3 people in their home in the middle of the night. Idahos campus was like a 15minutes drive from WSU. So crazy how common it seems.

There were four U of I students he killed, not three.

Criminology student, and 4 students. He drove to Moscow. Please get your details right before commenting. I was also attending wsu at the time, getting a PhD in astrophysics. It was crazy and I have not forgotten how vigilant we all were that entire winter/spring.

Lmao you’re a dork. Law student criminology same difference it’s law… smh. And sorry I was off by 1. “He drove to Moscow” yeah I said that it’s like 15 min away??? Thanks for the reply tho… I guess

Unfortunately, the only thing shocking about it is that it was a stabbing and not a shooting.

There's 340 million people in the country, sometimes some of them will kill people.

> According to authorities, the suspect has a history of 'crises' and surrendered after being urged to do so by his family in Bellevue. Oh boy, here we go with the excuses...

Tbf, the dudes LinkedIn history does scream paranoid schizophrenic. Glad hes been turned in, too late for the victim but hope her family and community may still find some form of closure and justice.

I really hate that we just do anything for mentally unwell.  F*** Regan. Edit: I meant to say "dont do anything"

Pcriz 17 hr ago +20
I mean if we did do anything for them there wouldn’t be so many mentally unwell people on the street.

BillionDollarBalls 15 hr ago +11
Yeah i really should double check what I write.  I meant to say we dont do anything. Its just gonna get worse without serious help.

It happens and I totally agree with you

Uh I’m pretty sure the Reagan remark is based on him closing mental hospitals when he governor of California, and not funding community care fully, (and then going on a austerity crusade), so it wouldn’t impact Washington

Mental health issues are prevalent in black community yet are not discussed in their community because it is considered taboo.    It’s unfortunate

Same in Asian communities. A friend of mine had undiagnosed schizophrenia because his Chinese parents told him there's no such thing and he just needs to work and stop thinking too much about himself.

This happened in Guamanian family too. My dad was disowned for having schizophrenia and told he just needs to grow up and find God. Lots of my family members are schizophrenic or bipolar. They always end up being cut off with no support.

hyper_espace 19 hr ago +23
This happens in any community where mental health care is deemed a taboo, even among poorer white communities. I mean you literally have antivax people, do you really think the same people believe in psychotherapy or psychiatry?
23
Pcriz 17 hr ago +4
I don’t know if the numbers support prevalence in black community over other communities but access to health care, discrimination in the medical industry and social stigmas as factors that stand between people and getting help in minority communities.

I think a bigger issue is religiosity. If you're suffering a serious mental illness and your family/support is telling you God will cure you and he is your medication... It's probably going to deteriorate worse.

Cases like this are always heartbreaking, especially when it involves students who were literally just trying to live normal lives and get an education. It’s honestly disturbing how often violent incidents now become national headlines almost every week somewhere in the country. At least they caught a suspect quickly because those situations create so much fear in the local community when someone dangerous is still unidentified. Really tragic story overall, and I can’t even imagine what the victim’s family and friends are going through right now.

Over 40 wounds, this person was in a rage when they did this. I hope they go away forever.
