He was a recurring character across 13 episodes of Gilmore Girls from season 4 to season 7. He plays guitar in Lane’s band Hep Alien, but is only the frontman during a breakup when he and the bassist and some other drummer are playing a Bat Mitzvah

In his prime he was absolutely a piece of garbage, like most rock stars of the time. Bad with women and drugs and generally not thinking about anything other than the next hour. I think he matured much later than normal people and is now a pretty good guy

He was a total scumbag in the late 80s/early 90s (he was so toxic that his old bandmates in Skid Row still won’t reunite with him to this very day) but he does over the last decade seem genuinely apologetic about a lot of his worse tendencies, like when he wore an “AIDS kills f—s dead” t-shirt, an offense that he was profusely apologized for over and over again. So I guess he’s mellowed out with age.
Edit: here read this old interview with Skid Row’s Snake Sabo: https://metalsludge.tv/classic-20-questions-skid-row-guitarist-dave-the-snake-sabo-in-his-tell-all-interview-with-metal-sludge-back-on-april-4th-2000/

On the east coast circa like 2009 at a mall with a couple of friends at the food court.
We see this massive dude with huge blonde hair covering his face surrounded by a huge amount of security and fans.
Later on we passed by the hot topic and realized that it was Sebastian f****** Bach.

Make no mistake, in 1991 he was an absolutely majestic specimen.
Still to this day one of the best frontmen I’ve ever seen.

He’s profusely apologized for things he’s said and done in his past a LOT actually. It seems like he legitimately regrets it. He’s apologized over and over for the aids kills f*gs shirt, for example, and then he donated bunch of money to charities for those with AIDS. Doesn’t undo it, but he’s shown a lot of growth.

What the f*** I don’t know who this person is and didn’t expect his actions to have been that extreme. Sometimes even when you’ve changed for the better and feel regretful, the things you’ve done and the impact you’ve had on others exists separate from that personal redemption. In those cases, it’s best to just stay away from the effected communities rather than apologizing over and over again because your presence in and of itself is harmful. He should apologize as needed to individuals in private and stay out of the public eye.
-16
gothteen145Mar 14, 2026

I'd disagree there, if money is going towards causes that benefit people affected i'd say that's a good thing, and it also helps with any gay fans to know that someone they admire doesn't hold those views anymore.
Obviously the fact he did that in the first place sucks, but if he's genuinely improved then i'd say that's a good thing as if you don't give people the option to improve and always judge them at their worst, then people would lose motivation to change.
Also, if he only apologised in private, no doubt people online would call for him to make public apologies anyway, happens every time there's some form of controversy, if an artist doesn't immediately apologise online, they'll be hounded to apologise in public even if they've made a private apology.

I think it’s sincere considering all.
As far as 80s musician behavior…he honestly was still pretty bad compared to his contemporaries.
Yet a lot of them don’t even seem to feel bad for what they did, let alone are they able to publicly apologize for it. Some still act the same ghastly way when their aging bodies allow them to.

I try so, so painfully hard, to fight what feels like a losing battle, to remind people that we are all flawed. We all make mistakes. We are all always learning something still til the day we die. People on the internet act absolutely insane in how much they leave no room for human error. Some of it is normal. Way more people need to remember they're not perfect.

Online people don't actually want 'accountability' like they say they do. Because even when all the conditions of taking said accountability are met, they reject it all to keep putting the boot in. The entire point is to punish them forever. It's a sport.

Bach was gorgeous at that time. Dumping a bland Pitt for Bach makes complete sense. Applegate was still a teenager and Bach was 20, I think. Young, pretty, and horny.
6
RedpinMar 14, 2026
+20
> In her memoir, Applegate, 54, wrote that she attended the VMAs with Pitt when she was 17, but went home with Bach after spending the whole night “staring” at him.
> The Dead to Me actress included a diary entry in her book in which she wrote of feeling “out of control” after learning that Bach had a 1-year-old child.
> “What a d***… I had really started to like him,” she wrote. “What do I always attract the ‘winners.’”
> Applegate’s entry went on to say that she was grateful she hadn’t slept with Bach, and didn’t want to be his girlfriend, but was upset that he’d spent the night at her house and “befriended” her while having a long-term partner and child.
That doesn't sound like especially egregious behaviour from a rockstar in the 80s. She invited him over and he acted friendly and left.
