Secret Service agent who took bullet in Trump assassination attempt may have been hit by 'friendly fire'

in the bumrush video you can see a guy that has his back to the camera start firing and there's an officer/agent on the opposite wall that immediate goes down in pain while the perpetrator just keeps running

This guy managed to rush past the Secret Service and didn’t even get hit once? Maybe Naruto running does actually work.

I learned recently that bullets do in fact just disappear.

If the audio that was on twitter the night it happened is accurate none of those shots were from a shotgun

They've said he was armed but I haven't seen anyone say he fired any weapon, just that he tried to storm in and (an annoyingly passive) "shots were fired" during the ensuing scuffle.

It's hard to tell because the guy used disappearing bullets.

So yes - he was armed. Not clear I guess if he shot anyone or discharged his gun.

What bullets? Apparently they disappeared. As they seem to do, just ask the HSS secretary about his dad and uncle, bullets are notorious for suddenly disappearing indoors during high profile attempts on heads of state. My guess? This guy had a handler egging him on with false security info and giving him blanks the second they found out he was serious.

None of the charges against the guy have anything to do with firing a weapon or assaulting a police officer. He didn't fire a gun. This has been clear since the event. The cop shot towards him and missed and hit the agent.

He shot but the bullets disappeared like they do in most crime scenes according to AG. He was also 2 floors above the ball room where this all took place. He was as close to president as orange turd is to releasing trump-epstein files.

Couldn't get a shot at the guy yet tackled him easily. Maybe quickfiring isn't the best way to deal with this scenario Americans.

They were rushed by a teacher for heaven's sake. What would someone with training have done to them?

I'm pretty sure the Attorney general said that when shootings like this happen in indoor settings like hotels bullets just disappear. A quote I'm sure no defense attorneys are going to use going forward at all!

They're claiming he actually fired a shotgun (but they claim a lot of things that are occasionally true), but that doesn't especially strongly indicate the agent hit was hit from that shot.

White House correspondent came out and LITERALLY said, “sometimes when shots are fired in a hotel building they simply disappear and you’ll never find it. There’s no SCIENCE behind it.” Guess crime scene forensic science is just fake news.

So...they started shooting, missed the assassin entirely and shot one of themselves.  Sounds pretty accurate for this administration. 

I just see this as continuing this administration's pattern of lying about shit to make it seem more serious, for no goddamn reason. See: Was Trump shot in the ear or did he get hit with debris? Does it actually f****** matter? No, but they will lie and ignore contradictory evidence because he somehow *matters* how close Trump was to getting capped and they want their narrative of him being grazed by it. Did the assailant fire his weapon? Yes, of course he did. Why are you asking if he didn't? He did, look at all the bullets in the Kevlar. Who's bullets? I don't know, I'm not an expert. Trust me though he fired his weapon. Antifa nearly got us again. Did that cop actually die after being hit in the head with a fire extinguisher? No, DEFINITELY not, the autopsy says he just died. Stop looking into it, nobody died. We didn't do anything wrong, everything is fine, stop asking, it was a peaceful protest, shut up about it already. We gotta do something about those cement milkshakes and chemical substances they are throwing at us. Stop asking if those were real we said they were.

I know they have had their share of scandals even before the Trump administration but I do wonder if this is another symptom of the overall incompetence and mismanagement of this admin. I could certainly see how they might be losing some of their better folks, particularly if they remember the previous 4 years. Or all the ones who aren't yesmen/supporters aren't put on his detail. Or just the typical ignoring their advice and warnings and forcing them into a situation they said was bad.

Between this and the fact that some dipshit managed to get through the sweep and multiple security checks manned by the agency who’s only job is to protect the president, I’m starting to think the Secret Service was purged by the DOGE cuts last year. What we’re left with is a bunch of idiots who think COD is a valid training program.

I don't even think 5% of ss agents are on presidential protective duty Edit: I'm wrong, about 8-9% of total agents are on current presidential detail which is estimated at 300. Former presidents typically have 90-100 agents. Somewhere between 3200-3600 total agents.
