It's because of the underground rail system that is exclusive to government officials. It has multiple stops including the white house and other unamed buildings as basically both a way for them to get around away from public eyes and as a means of escaping should the worst come to pass. It's even said that one of the lines reaches all the way to the Pentagon.

TL;DR:
On May 4, 2026 (\~3:30 PM ET) near the Washington Monument, Secret Service spotted a suspicious armed man. On an attempt to make contact, the person tried flee, then drew a gun, and allegedly fired first at officers. They returned fire, wounding him (hospitalized). A 15-year-old bystander was also hit (officials say from suspect's shots). No agents were injured. The gun was recovered. White House was briefly locked down.

Yup. That one always stunk. Any remotely competent security would have just secured Trump while calling in help to walk up and detain the guy. So of course Trump's detail just started firing shots at the guy, allowing him to temporarily get away.

It's possible that the Secret Service also shot a kid, although this article glossed that over. This shows more careless bafoonary, if not incompetence by the Secret Service, if this is true. The New York Times reported this:
>The Secret Service shot and wounded an armed man on Monday afternoon just south of the White House in a burst of gunfire that also grazed a young bystander in an area packed with pedestrians, officials said.
>The condition of the armed man, who was not identified, is not known. A firearm was recovered at the scene. A 15-year-old boy who was shot was being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, officials said. Matt Quinn, the deputy director of the Secret Service, told reporters that investigators think the boy was shot by the gunman, but he later appeared to hedge his earlier statement when asked again.
>"We’ll let the doctors figure that out,” Mr. Quinn said during a news conference near the scene.

Republicans can destroy, they cannot build. See exhibit Ballroom for details.
~~More~~ government shutdowns than any other President in the history of the USA. Republicans cannot govern so they choose not too and blame anything but their own incompetence on all the issues they cause. The ball changes courts, Americans forget and lo and behold, we repeat the exact same horseshit the next election.

Suddenly there's an uptick in assassination attempts that are not actual threats.
It's like attention is being diverted from something else...

In unrelated news, the CIA needs new warehouses for all the impounded time machines it is accumulating.

ok but republicans are still in violation of the court order to release the rest of the epstein files that directly implicate donald trump and his cohorts in sexual abuse and trafficking of underage girls.

I used to think there was a limit..until Sandy Hook. We thoughts and prayered our way through that then Uvalde happened. When the slaughter of children only prompts tweets from adults, we're fucked.

It's scary to consider that the Secret Service returned fire considering how "well" they performed during the WH correspondents dinner.

Honestly, for all we know they heard a balloon pop and opened fire.

Honestly this hear. I don't believe a damn word out of the WH. Show us video or I assume they are lying.

A ballroom -- for a guy with no balls. It's another construction grift.
And as we all know, there's no place safer in an emergency than the nearest ballroom.
These multiple attempts. staged or not, have little to do with whether there's a ballroom or not. How they relate to each other is beyond me.

This president seems to draw hate like a bee to honey. Funny thing is most of the shooters were republicans.

The same secret service that keep letting people with guns enter the perimeter where the Epstein president is?
They stopped something? Yeah right

Ah yes the bought media pushing the victim complex of the most hostile president in modern history.
trump is like a meth head who stumbled into office, declared himself king and everyone just went with it.

I guess we're just counting all of DC as "near the White House" now.

Gunfire near the white house. Just 10000 miles away

The secret service and not the military guys or regular police who keep objects safe? How did the secret service even get to the Washington Monument without a person they protect being there?

So then I guess the ballroom wouldn’t help?

Yup. This was probably a run of the mill armed guy with mental illnesses.
Considering the distance from the pedo in chief, he could have been targeting anything.

This will be used as an excuse to expand the perimeter at The White House.

He will use this as an excuse to rename the Washington monument the Trump monument, cover it in gold leaf and make it taller (so a trump souvenir shop can be in the base).

Made sure to feature an "exchange" this time and not just SS agents shooting each other willy-nilly. I wonder what the angle is, still the ballroom?

The White House has snipers on top of it 24/7. Anywhere near it should not be a concern.

Sounds like a much less expensive show than Iran for them.
Release all of the files the videos of Trump with teens, etc… disgusting and disgraceful. A corrupt traitor 20 times over (or more, we won’t know until he is out of office just how corrupt he has been)… is running the US (into the ground)!

Someone needs attention again. I havent talked to my neighbors in a year and it was good to see them again but not directly talk to them. I may also have raccoons in the basement. Anyway I wish I could ignore the president more than anything, he can go flush himself.

He REALLY wants that ballroom/panic room. He needs somewhere to hide when his last constitutional term is up.
