I like that she wants to lean into the ugly side of healthcare instead of another saintly doctor show. Someone please pair this with a resident POV to really hurt.

FatWalcott Apr 19, 2026 +47
"This is going to Hurt" is exactly the show you're describing.

That show is fantastic but such a tough watch.

She and a doctor (I don’t recall the name) did an NPR interview the other day and it was interesting to hear her take on the character and how she worked to influence the writing. Mostly, they said women (doctors, in this instance) aren’t allowed to show true emotion or be vulnerable as leaders or else they’re judge more critically than male counterparts or outright dismissed.

Cosmic_Gumbo Apr 19, 2026 +134
For real. Imagine if roles were swapped when Robby chastised those EMTs for not providing proper care for the woman with the heart attack.

Podo13 Apr 19, 2026 +22
Yeah she did an episode with Dr. Mike on his YouTube channel this last week, too. It was cool to see her take on some stuff.

Downvote this comment if you think female characters are held to a higher standard and more easily judged and critizied by the general audience of The Pitt :)

Santos threatened to murder a patient last season and no one cares.
30
jdessy Apr 19, 2026 +9
I wouldn't say that's true. People REALLY went hard on Santos for that, and she was obviously wrong for doing that. It was a bad character moment and I still have no idea why the show wrote that scene in. It probably lost Isa Briones the chance to be nominated for any awards last season, quite frankly.

Downvote this comment if you agree that Langdon is an a******! 🥰🥰

They were making a point that the women get sympathy on the show too, sounds like you just have an agenda regardless of the facts.
27
Awkward_Bison_267 Apr 19, 2026 +8
That’s not true. Robbie, Santos, Whitaker and Victoria have been shitting on him all season. Robbie only stopped in Episode 14.
8
dangerislander Apr 19, 2026 +8
I'm reffering to to the viewers sorry should have clarified.
8
Awkward_Bison_267 Apr 19, 2026 +3
Fair enough.

SerDire Apr 19, 2026 +153
It was wild seeing her be mostly stoic all season to just completely unraveling in the final episode. She held her own all shift going toe to toe with Robbie and Abbott and then just fell apart at the end with the revelation of some serious past medical trauma.
153
J0E_SpRaY Apr 19, 2026 +110
It wasn’t just a revelation. She had two seizures in one shift, which could lead to her losing her medical license.
110
NCC75567 Apr 20, 2026 +3
That would be completely nuts if she loses her medical license, while Langdon stole drugs and kept his job at the same place from which he stole them (while also treating the same patients he stole from).
3
Depressed-Industry Apr 19, 2026 +15
Would it though? I'm asking. In her condition she's not suited for ED or surgery. But primary care or some specialty that's not time critical would be less of a danger.
15
thekillercook Apr 19, 2026 +44
Yes in COA America she would be viewed as a walking lawsuit waiting to happen and would be branded an HR risk. She would be removed from her job and given a role that isn’t patience facing
44
slappyredcheeks Apr 20, 2026 +1
HR doesn't issue medical licenses.
1
thekillercook Apr 20, 2026 +1
No but they do controll who works in what jobs
1
slappyredcheeks Apr 20, 2026
But you are responding to a comment specifically about whether she would lose her medical license.
0
thekillercook Apr 20, 2026
If it is reported, then it will be forwarded to the State Medical Board by HR, and it will impact her license. HR only exists to protect the hospital
0
jinx2004 Apr 19, 2026 -8
No, being sick is not a reason for someone to lose their license. But she also wouldn't be cleared for certain types of work and responsibilities. It's kinda like getting the flu, you shouldn't be working until you get it resolved. If new meds or procedures work she could be cleared to come back, but not until it's resolved.

moxieroxsox Apr 19, 2026 +114
She grew on me towards the end of the season when it became very clear something more was going on. She felt so robotic at the beginning. But I also think way too much time was spent on Robby’s emotional…hang ups, that she, like several other characters ended up with a truncated arc. Her situation is very interesting and real with ethical and personal implications but then after 15 episodes they just punted her stuff to the next season.
114
Depressed-Industry Apr 19, 2026 +40
Funny you should say she felt robotic. I felt there was a reason they made her the person pushing the AI tool that was accurate 98% of the time. Like there was a parallel with her redeveloping seizure disorder. Also noted was her hair and makeup developed over the season as a visual indication of her mental and physical condition.
40
bloodyturtle Apr 19, 2026 +45
Her arc this season had 3 acts; she entered as a disruptive force, got more comfortable and showed herself, and then got shanked three different ways. This isn’t a miniseries or a law and order episode, this is a normal tv show where characters grow and change over years.
45
danavoidscarbs Apr 19, 2026 +37
Years? The entire season is 1 day
37
grachi Apr 19, 2026 +7
And months have passed — in the shows timeframe — between season 1 and season 2. You don’t think they can time skip between season 2 and 3?
7
Depressed-Industry Apr 19, 2026 +9
The creator has stated Season 3 will be approximately 4 months from Season 2.
9
toughtacos Apr 19, 2026 +5
God, I wish it was actually just 4 months til next season. But I take comfort in there being 15 episodes to look forward to, each with interesting content from the first to the last minute, instead of just 8-10 episodes.
5
Depressed-Industry Apr 19, 2026 +1
It's 6, so not too much longer. New season was announced for January.
1
GamingTatertot Apr 19, 2026 +5
6 months from now is, uh, not January
5
Depressed-Industry Apr 19, 2026 +2
Dang it, you're right.
2
AddisonsContracture Apr 19, 2026 +2
Presumably when Robby comes back from his spirt quest
2
Pariell Apr 19, 2026 +16
There was apparently a cut scene in the final episode where she calls her ex-husband and asks to take her daughter for the weekend, then breaks down because she realizes she cant drive safely and risk her daughters life. Feels like that would have added a lot of depth to her.
16
azul360 Apr 19, 2026 +1
That makes the crying in the car scene make way more sense
1
EmperorAcinonyx Apr 19, 2026 +20
it already made sense. it's not safe for her to drive because of her seizure disorder.
20
GamingTatertot Apr 19, 2026 +13
Yeah I've seen people saying they wish they kept the ex-husband call in because they didn't "get" the scene otherwise...but I felt the purpose and meaning of the scene was pretty well-telegraphed as is, and certainly not some hidden subtle idea
13
EmperorAcinonyx Apr 19, 2026 +2
right. there is certainly something to be said about al-hashimi's plotline feeling unsatisfying, and something like this would have improved it, but her final scene was basically fine
2
azul360 Apr 19, 2026
Sorry I didn't mean that her crying didn't make sense I meant that the scene itself felt like there was more to it and that it was missing something that had been cut. It felt that way to me anyway so if that is true that there was more to the scene then it makes a lot of sense.

EmperorAcinonyx Apr 19, 2026 +4
yeah that's valid, i found this entire season to be a noticeable step down from the first and a lot of that came from the characters just not being utilized very well
4
Churchbushonk Apr 19, 2026 +8
I thought she was going to get in her car and have a devastating seizure causing a wreck.
8
grachi Apr 19, 2026 +4
Both times it happened in the ER were 5 seconds each . Definitely more than enough time to not make turn, drive off a cliff, go through a building, etc.
4
jor1ss Apr 19, 2026 +2
It would have felt a bit c**** to me tbh. I like to imagine she parked her car again and called a taxi to get home.
2
exmachina64 Apr 19, 2026 -2
Given that her SUV is newer, safety features would likely prevent the worst possible outcomes (emergency braking, lane assist, etc.).

Double_Cow_8238 Apr 20, 2026
You mean the show was about the main character. I don’t know why people are so confused that the Robby show is about Robby. They explicitly told us this in season 1 when there isn’t a leading actress. The graphics for the season are just him. The original pitch was Noah Wyle medical show.

Her character was so competent this season that they basically never gave her anything dramatic until the last episode. I saw someone describe the show as filled with scenes of Emmy-offs, but she never really had hers outside of one moment. I know the competence and calmness were what they were aiming for, but it seems like Dana had most of the big scenes this season. A little odd considering they introduced a new character to the main cast. We'll see further development next season I suspect.

spate42 Apr 19, 2026 +11
Funny how her AI charting subplot just vanished, they put a lot of emphasis in the first few eps but never mentioned again after the cyber attack was resolved.
11
daone1008 Apr 19, 2026 +9
That plotline ended when someone came to complain about the charts
9
PenisOfTheJaniculum Apr 19, 2026 +4
It’s a John Wells show. Things just vanish from time to time.

it was meant to show the spectrum of technology. from ultra advanced to pen and paper after going dark.

I don’t understand how this happens every time a popular show happens Happened with the first season of fallout, andor, the boys season 1 and 2 etc. people complaining about a popular tv show getting posts is so weird

This is how I felt about Andor posts here, and then I watched Andor. If a single show is getting this many posts (with actual people engaging in the comments), it's probably a sign that the show is good. Or at least popular with the r/television demo, which you always have the option of leaving.

What did you mean by this?
1
catnip_varnish Apr 20, 2026
The show is awkward and preachy and has a self-gratulatory overtone that makes me feel like the target audience is the kids in school who would remind the teacher of homework that was due when they were the only one in the class who did it
0
Calm_Canary Apr 20, 2026 +1
It’s just a tv show though, you may be thinking too deeply about this. It’s people pretending to be other people acting out a story written by some other people for the enjoyment of some other people.
1
catnip_varnish Apr 20, 2026
I didn't have to think that deeply about it to have that reaction but I still think your point is beyond stupid. Like yeah stories written by other people famously one of the things you shouldn't think deeply about. I can tell you're a huge fan of HBO's the Pitt

Calm_Canary Apr 20, 2026 +1
Yea I think doing your homework is important too.
