I think that’s the goal. This is just a cover for getting the technology and start mass producing these killing machines.

Thats completely wrong. Serbs are quite pro-Palestine and Serbia recognized Palestine a long time ago. The only reason why Vucic cooperates with Israel is because they sell him spy software and other dissent suppression tech he can than use to suppress opposition in Serbia. Hopefully Vucic will be ousted in the next elections overall the situation aint really looking good for him. Edit: Also Vucic probably sees Israel as a shortcut to the White House and of course winning the support of the US would be great for his regime. And it wouldnt be the first time the US backed a dictator.

I have an serbian coworker that came back from maternity leave and on the first day she started "I would kill all these migrants, disgusting smelly browns" and a couple of years before that she was saying to me (for context, I'm an metalhead) "I would kill all these metalheads and those shiptar cunts". Are Serbs just born with genocidal tendencies or something? They had an small empire 600 years ago that lasted a couple of generations and they still can't get over it.

You hope for an event that will kill scores of innocent people not associated with the conflict? Seek help. Immediately..
-17
Notorious_Chonk_23 3 days ago +6
Wait, is building the weapons being used explicitly for this war somehow "not associated with war"?
6
IrishVictim88270 3 days ago -9
So engineers, mechanics, the cleaners, the admin staff, the guy who does security, working for a private drone engineering company, are perfectly legitimate targets to you? The business I work for has some contracts with the Israelis. Does that make me a legit target to the lefts antisemitic death squads?
-9
MaserZ7 3 days ago +6
Dude if you actually care about the people who work in these fields maybe you should start advocating for governments to stop developing weapons of war using them to massacre populations across the world, developments like this only escalate conflict and perpetuate more violence

When did I say that? military factories are targets during war time, where as those drones are going to be used in the genocide of unarmed civilians, I’m just pointing out that it’s a little weird you’re crying over someone saying mean things about a factory yet you are completely ambivalent about the atrocities those weapons will be used to commit

The goal is 80,000 combat drones within 2 years. The Balkan country’s Yugoimport SDPR state arms producer will open a drone plant with Elbit Systems, according to Serbia’s BIRN news service. The report said the Israeli company will own 51% of the future plant.
70
Aptosauras 4 days ago +89
The majority owner is an Israeli company, so all of the drones made in Serbia will be going to Israel - paid for by the USA. Sounds grand.
89
PoseidonMax 4 days ago -29
So you don’t know how that works at all. The money the US gives Israel is spent on US military equipment and research. Also the missile defense program is a massive portion of that because. It costs 100,000 to 150,000 each time to knock out those rockets targeting cities and towns for the vast majority. The US also gets a lot of that research back for its own defense. They can buy a small percentage of Israeli stuff, but that is only in Israel and is being phased out.

Why does Israel keep it's military bases in the middle of its cities?
17
Fantastic-Bee4197 3 days ago -8
Does it really? Any evidence for that claim?
-8
BeIgnored 3 days ago +14
There are a few. HaKirya (Camp Rabin) in Tel Aviv. It's the central military headquarters and I believe also serves as a base. It's located in the heart of Tel Aviv, surrounded by residential towers, Ichilov Hospital, and the HaShalom train station, and Azraeli Center (which contains a large shopping center among other things). Glilot Base - Herzliya: Located less than 2 km from northern Tel Aviv residential zones, it has military intelligence units, including Unit 8200, and the National Defense College. Tel HaShomer Base - Ramat Gan: Located near the city of Ramat Gan and bordering the Sheba Medical Center, which is Israel's largest hospital. Haifa Naval Base: Situated in a densely populated metropolitan area in Haifa, near the Rambam Healthcare Campus and public beaches.
14
Fantastic-Bee4197 3 days ago -14
That’s wonderful. And do you honestly believe that the terrorists attacking Israel have any compunction attacking these sites due to the fact they’re supposedly in the middle of cities? The cluster munitions used by the IRGC spread over wide areas and are intended to maximize civilian casualties, while Hamas and Hezbollah regularly target civilians as well.

O_PLUTO_O 3 days ago +3
Whoops you moved the goals posts from “any evidence of military bases in cities?” to “so what if their in cities the terrorist will bomb them anyway!”
3
PoseidonMax 3 days ago -12
Where I don’t know any military base in Tel Aviv? Really seem to be spread out protecting people from those targets. I see a clinic, some administration buildings, nothing that would be a military target. You are acting like they can target a rocket at a facility with any accuracy. They are blind firing at civilians in the hopes of killing them.
-12
TheManlyManperor 3 days ago +9
HaKirya is literally on f****** kaplan street lmao. Smack dab in the city center.
9
PoseidonMax 3 days ago -7
Wait you think that is a target they could hit? It has a massive bunker underneath. They have no chance of killing anyone in that facility with all the warning systems and protocol. Iran hit near it, but they aren’t firing dumb rockets into the city as much. Clinic only popped up when I searched. It was on the outskirts. But Tel Aviv has boomed since then and grown massively.
-7
TheManlyManperor 3 days ago +7
Keep moving them goalposts
7
PoseidonMax 3 days ago -1
No, goalpost I admitted I was wrong in that one instance. Why don’t you name other ones though? Not command centers where no weapons are kept. Keep pretending its military bases are in the center of cities. Which infers most. They built them away because people don’t like tanks and jets breaking their ear drums. I mean their society is built around people firing rockets. Places of safety are littered around Israel. The coast of Tel Aviv is the center of the city. Just like all port cities in the world. That’s where everything is. Hamas and Hezbollah rarely target anything militarily. Hamas was targeting civilians for the most part on Oct 7th. Just went to villages to go on psychotic sprees and steal bodies with a few captives. Your statement was incorrect just like the last guy.

Keep in mind that Serbia is under a dictatorship by this guy. This isn't the will of the people. It is the will of the corrupted to steal more money and stay as long as possible in power. Regardless of how it affects the world. Just check how they treat their own people, and you won't find compassion for human life.  Since they are close to losing, the safest bet is to make good with the Israeli, and they are safe. US won't interfere, EU won't interfere, as they kill their own people, and the good people of Palestine.

Didn’t serbia commit a genocide of its own?
129
oKINGDANo 4 days ago +42
And before that they suffered genocide at the hands of the Ustaše regime during WWII. Honestly, they seem like birds of a feather with Israel in that regard, going from victim to oppressor at different points in time. More so if you take into account the victim complex that people of both countries so often seem to carry, despite their current circumstances. Edit: Also having land disputes with neighboring countries/people, i.e. Kosovo and Palestine. Not the same situations, but they rhyme.
42

Shhh, don't mention the word genocide because the bots will argue that what serbs did in the 90s was not genocide at all.
22
SaphirRose 3 days ago -9
[No it didn't.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnian_genocide_case) And it's not an opinion but proven it court. Although the narrative that it did is still very present and pushed. Serbia is also not in NATO so it's security depends on it's own capabilities alone, so this kind of policies make perfect sense. But again, that is not the narrative.
-9
lollythepop7 3 days ago +1
From the link: > Serbia has violated the obligation to prevent the Srebrenica genocide; Serbia has violated its obligations under the Genocide Convention by having failed to transfer Ratko Mladić to ICTY; Serbia has violated its obligation to comply with the provisional measures ordered by the Court So it’s just a matter of technicality then. And if perhaps Serbia’s security is so important to it then perhaps it should adopt policies more favorable to NATO rather than going against the grain of NATO’s policy direction every single time.
1
SaphirRose 3 days ago +2
1. It's not a matter of technicalities. There is a huge difference between Serbia could have done more to dissuade the foreign Government in Pale not to commit war crimes, and "Serbia committed a genocide". Plus the two governments did not like eachother to put it kindly, and there was even a blockade and sanctions at the time from Serbia's side. 2. At the time of judgement Ratko Mladić was indeed not found, but he was found later and immediately transferred to Hague. So it was corrected. 3. Serbia actually does have favourable policies towards NATO, in fact there are combined military drills every year, sometimes multiples between NATO and Serbian Armed forces. Also NATO and Israel are very close as well... So nothing is actually being crossed here.

Serbias has been going through major re armament for the last decade outspending all their neighbours. I guess the logic is that Israel has advanced drones they wouldn’t have access to. For Israel, a factory out of the country is one less target you need to defend.

bullshit walks money talks Israel is extremely USEFUL as an ally due to their regional influence, high technology, and military experience, and intelligence assets. Israel has [already](https://oilchange.org/news/countries-fueling-gaza-genocide/) been buying tons of Russian oil. They been doing it for years despite ‘sanctions.’ > Twenty-five countries delivered 323 shipments of crude oil and refined products to Israel, totaling 21.2 million tonnes. > Azerbaijan (via Turkey) and Kazakhstan (via Russia) supplied around 70% of crude oil. > Russia was the largest supplier of refined fuels, accounting for nearly half of total refined products.

I think you are misunderstanding my point. Not pointing out that they are allies, but that Israel has connections with more than just the West, especially since you listed Russia in your post.
2
xmuskorx 4 days ago +8
Many countries do. Buying energy has always been a connection of convenience. But it's pretty clear that Israel broadly aligns with USA and the West in general. This does not have to continue being the case. Israel can re-align at Russia/China side
8
eriverside 3 days ago +2
No no, you don't get it. EU is anti-EU because they are allied with Russia, since they buy energy from Russia. And pretty soon the EU-Russian Alliance will crush the EU. Isn't it obvious? /S

Surely it's the reverse. It's a perfect reason for Serbia to be in EU because then it wouldn't bring Israel, Russia, China and others to Europe right? Even if it was genocide, it was specifically ruled to have been done by a handful of people, not the whole country so say Ratko Mladić did the genocide, not Serbia.
