Absolute cinema. Ukraine repairs their side of the pipeline as part of the agreement for the EU loan, then blows up Russia's end a day later.

ru started the mess, hope they sink in it... eu thought if they bought oil from ru, that it would make ru a better neighbor.

That's a clever troll move. I believe Russia had damaged the Ukraine part, and expected them to pay the bill and resources of fixing it. They finally did and now returned the favor by damaging the Russia part, leaving it to them to be fixed with their own bill and resources...

> agreement for the EU loan, then blows up Russia's end a day later. They did also two days before (https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-hits-russian-oil-pumping-station-part-druzhba-pipeline-2026-04-21/), it's not that they were waiting first for loan approval to do it.

Love this idea, they don't believe in the negative effects of that stuff in our oceans anyway. They can compete with the other animals out there.

It's not even the ones at the top who you mentioned but the power structures that put them there and keep them there. People like Trump, Putin and Netanyahu will always exist but they should be kept far away from any positions of power. The fact that they all won elections and then have been able to use their positions to empower themselves further while still retaining a lot of popular support speaks poorly both of the systems in place and the people in those countries who let them get away with it.

This is fundamentally why the world has no chance to survive long term - good people do not seek power at all cost, they focus on work, productivity and prosperity. Bad people seek for power without any rules. At the end of the day they will prevail sooner or later, through deception and lies. Sad, but nothing you can do about it. At some moment there will be someone crazy enough to go that one step too far.

The Russian economy is decaying. It's a slow moving collapse that's been going on for years and we're currently in the middle of it. To be clear I'm not saying "they will collapse any day now" I am saying "they have been collapsing for years and the only people who think the Russian economy is doing great are the people who aren't paying attention." Even Nabiullina and Putin are openly talking about a recession. These strikes on Russian energy have been very disruptive and meant that Russia doesn't get the money they need to buy the weapons to win the war. The full scale invasion of Ukraine has been going on for longer than the Eastern front of WWII and you don't send soldiers to storm fortified positions in minivans if you have tanks or armored vehicles available. You don't fire a few thousand artillery shells a day if you can manufacture millions. Russian territorial progress has largely stalled this year even compared to the slow progress of 2024 and 205 and we've even started to see some months where they lost more than they gained. The Ukrainian strikes on Russia and the aid that European countries have donated to Ukraine is working.

They've been collapsing as a *none* resource economy since the late 1960's/1970's, they are a gas station with nukes, they don't make anything the world wants other than weapons and after watching Ukraine ratfuck them with drones and NATO cast-offs I doubt there is the demand for their weapons there was.. even if they could make enough to sell in addition to their own needs which they can't. Everyone seemed to expect it'd be a "boom" when all they've done with this stupidity is accelerate their decline in myriad ways.

Awesome. Great strategy. Every petrodollar they don't get is another bullet they can't fire.

One thing I do not understand. Ukraine has been bombing the f*** out of russias oil infrastructure. And people say "this will only slightly harm russias war economy. They arent about to collapse anytime soon". "They will repair things and it will only be a temporary delay" Iran bombs a few things in UAE and Oman 1 time, news reports that we will now have massive fuel cost increase for years due to the damaged infrastructure taking years to repair, and fuel shortages are going to be coming soon.

The real evil empire that needs to collapse is Israel US politicians under Israel's control are getting called out now, it's great seeing more aware of the control Israel has over the US.

I doubt this blockade will cause Iran's downfall, but Tehran's water reservoirs running out would. Iran's goal is to cause as much anxiety as possible to their surrounding neighbors that the US pulls its bases and retreats from the Middle East. The flip side of that is that it seems to be speed running the US' retreat as a leading superpower with countries distancing themselves from reliance of the US.

You could tell the Russian population to practice that mindset for the next century. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Russia#Russian_Federation_(1991%E2%80%93present)

The russian government can surrender at any time and end the war.
16
noir_lord 2 days ago +10
They don't even need to surrender, call a cease fire and move troops back behind the 2014 borders. Then Russia can claim it's done whatever it was claiming was the reason, no one would give a shit *as long as they are gone*.
