These settlers are utterly despicable human beings. This isn’t an agrarian frontier world of over 500 years ago.

Israel: "how are we losing the pr war?"

I honestly don't understand how anyone can support Israel and actions like this anymore unless they think Palestinians don't deserve any home. It's crazy how hard they've swung from the abused to the abuser and defend their actions without any hint of irony.

People can support Israel and oppose settler extremists.  Just like someone can support Palestine but oppose hamas How is that complicated?

susulaima 3 days ago +21
Except Israel supports these settlers and so do their courts. So it is a bit more complicated than that.

And a few comments later you admitted Palestine supports Hamas, so what’s your point? It’s a blatant double standard. How can you argue that you can’t support Israel without supporting settlers? A significant of Israelis both citizens and in government are against them. It’s exactly the same as saying you can’t support Palestine without supporting Hamas.

Not at all, and clearly you're missing the point or just being disingenuous.

Whereas Palestine doesn't support Hamas in any way? It's literally the elected government.

You seriously want to compare the ethical and functioning democracy of Israel to the clusterfuck terrorist government they have in Palestine? That's how low your bar is for Israel? If that's the standard you think they should adhere to, then that explains a lot in your reasoning.

Adiligian 2 days ago -8
What are you on about?  I said Palestine supports hamas. Do you disagree?
-8
susulaima 2 days ago +3
No I don't. What I'm disagreeing to is your comparison as if it's relevant when Israel should be held to a much higher standard than a bunch of terrorists. Unless you're claiming Israel are also a bunch of terrorists?

Adiligian 2 days ago -2
What are you on about now? All countries should be held to a high standard. Your insinuation that Palestine is 'a bunch of terrorists' is highly bigoted
-2
susulaima 2 days ago +11
I am Palestinian and think the current government of Palestine is a terrorist regime. Do you think the current Israeli government is a terrorist regime and that's why they should be held to the same standard as the terrorist regime of Palestine?

Israel is supposed go be a democracy so the people have a voice. Palestine is run by terrorists

Democratically elected terrorists who still have widespread political support... I'm sure your democracy has people doing things you don't like too.

This is a ridiculous comparision and you know it. At least you dont get murdered by the government if you have an opposing opinion in Israel

I don't think they care about that anymore, they're just cashing out political capital as fast as possible before their allies freeze the accounts, so to speak.

It's crazy how religious extremism is uniquely successful in turning human beings into living trash.

Can we please replace the word “settler”? They are annexing territory.

Would 'invader' be appropriate?

phoenix25 3 days ago +26
I think so. If you were to replace the countries with Ukraine and Russia, how do you think the media would frame it? What about US and Greenland?

OutoftheCold125 3 days ago +21
Russians have been moving into Ukrainians' 'vacated' houses [for a while](https://archive.is/Sxwbz). How do I think the media frames it? They mostly don't talk about it.

I hadn't heard that either, I don't know why (I know some media sources are just straight up propaganda but even the most well respected and reliable ones don't seem to mention this) so it's important we point it out here

I've seen a vid of an Israeli guy viewing a house while a Palestinian lady was super upset saying he had no right to take her house and he said "If I do not, someone else will" actually I think this was in the West Bank so not sure if that's Palestine or if that refers to just Gaza but my point is it's messed up I have nothing against Jewish people, the state of Israel is doing some messed up stuff tho and I have to point out I'm not anti-Semitic because any criticism of Israel gets one accused of hating Jews (Israel's government and other people oppressing others are the only ones I'm hating on here)

This is how I feel too. The worst is that I started out feeling like I was being anti-semetic by having an opinion, so for the longest time I just told myself it was a complex situation that I didn’t understand so it would be best to not form an opinion on it. After a lot of time, reading, and watching videos from before 2020 to educate myself, I realized I was being stupid. You can condemn the actions of a country without it being hatred of their religion or race. The programming online is crazy, you can very easily become radicalized on either side of the spectrum.

The difference is that there are established territories between to established states. West Bank isn’t a state

Thats what settling means though. A settler almost always steals land so I'm confused why you dont like the term? No one is going to use the term settler to describe someone making a platform in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to live on even though theyd technically be a settler. It's exclusively a term for someone who steals land.

Snoutysensations 3 days ago +10
Uh, no. Just look up "who were the first settlers of Ireland" or similar.   Settler doesn't inherently mean stealing land. Nowadays we mostly associate it with colonial activity, but it doesn't always mean land theft.

Can you point out what territory has been annexed so far ?
-33
DisastrousIncident75 2 days ago
Hahaha, somehow I guessed you wouldn't want to answer, since zero territory has actually been annexed.

DisastrousIncident75 1 day ago
Oops… your claim they are annexing territory is completely false and baseless, and you haven’t responded with any evidence to try and defend your fraudulently misleading delusional claims. Therefore you will be reported for egregious misinformation and banned.

God I wait to vote out the current government. "Morally abysmal" would be an understatement. And I hope a politician with a conscious and a spine will be given Minister of Police and start taking this seriously (my current best hope seems to be Ya'ir Golan). October can't come soon enough.
