So now you just have to turn up and fail, and you get nominated?

Any world leader can nominate anyone for the peace prize, and they very often nominate their controversial friends for political reasons. The shortlist is usually 300-400 people or so, it is highly unlikely they will win the award, the committee in Norway is not completely stupid.

It's so much dumber than that. Any college professor or member of parliament can nominate anyone for the peace prize. It means nothing.

Getting nominated for the Peace Prize means NOTHING. Thousands of people get nominated by thousands of morons.

Yeah but how funny would the reaction be if Vance won it given how emotional certain other people were about missing out on it last year.

That was always the case. Getting nominated for the prize is just a matter of sending an email.

Obama did nothing for his. The Prize has devolved into virtue signaling for lost causes over the years.

Last time the prize was given to someone deserving it was Martti Ahtisaari.

Khalistan propaganda is funded by Pakistan's ISI. Of course they would nominate their boss. This is just like Pakistan PM nominating trump.

Asim Munir is literally the military dictator of pakistan& their most popular political leader (Imran Khan) has been in prison since the past 3-4 years on fabricated charges. But hey, who cares about freedom & democracy as long as he’s willing to bend over for trump & co

The charges of embezzlement are real. He did steal gifts given to him by other heads of states which according to law are a property of State of Pakistan.

The nomination cites several factors, including the prevention of a large-scale armed conflict, containment of regional instability, and contributions to global security and energy stability.
Do these people not keep up with the news or something? But literally i'm 100% for giving Vance a nobel, just because trump would probably have him charlie kirked or someshit the next day

You know what, I think I deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. Mind you, I haven't done anything to contribute to world peace, but I also haven't done anything to endanger it unlike these assholes who keep getting nominated.

>The U.S.-based Sikh advocacy group has nominated Pakistan’s army chief and the U.S. vice president for the 2027 Nobel Peace Prize, citing their roles in facilitating a reported ceasefire between the United States and Iran during a period of heightened tensions in the Middle East.
The only thing this ceasefire would have facilitated is the continued oppression of the people of Iran by the illegitimate regime that occupies Iran. They do not deserve the peace prize for trying to extend the Islamic Republic's reign of terror, mass murder, torture and r***. The Islamic Republic must be stopped as soon as possible or more Iranians will be murdered, tortured and raped by the regime.
