Call me cynical, but I'm surprised anyone who works for a giant multi-national thinks they work for the good guys. I hope she wins her lawsuit.

There's a reason for the existence of the phrase, "There is no ethical consumption under capitalism". Money doesn't care who's pocket it goes into and most people care even less so long as money makes it's way into their pocket. It's how all of society ends up as an accessory to a crime against itself, you gotta have money to live, you gotta work for money, so you punch in for satan just to feed your family.

The fact that most people’s reactions to the Iran war is that they worry about gas prices speaks volumes. We don’t live in a good world.

One might say that, in America, money=religion.

I think most people's reactions are more "how badly is this administration going to f*** up something that demands an attention to detail much greater than anyone at the highest levels of our government are capable of"
And gas prices are just the first signal. I think what people are actually worried about are the potential unforseen consequences going forward.
I think the potential consequences of this entire saga aren't talked about as much because there are soooo many, and they are all extremely depressing, so we try and focus on the best case scenario for now, which is still looking less and less likely every day.

She got in the way of the companies revenue stream. That will get anyone canned. Thompson Reuters is a publicly traded company. The only thing they care about is making money.

True in most companies. Stand on the tracks in front of the money train, you will be crushed.
How to get crushed faster? Try and recruit others to impede company business objectives or cash flow.

Companies that work with ICE need to be crushed.

Great, but if I'm already going to make a purchase, I'd like to know who to avoid. My kids still need food, clothing, school supplies, etc.

There are WAY too many companies operating that way. I was always told capitalism encouraged competition.

Quite the opposite really. Capitalism will always result in oligopolies which then devolve into monopolies unless it is restrained by law.
At least that has been the warning of pretty much every major economic school since the very early days and is the observable outcome of real-world implementations.
