Shower at night or in the morning?

Posted by petpman

I'm a shower at night person, I just can't bring myself to get in the bed if I haven't had a shower. I just feel dirty. If I'm feeling too lazy for a shower I sleep vertically at the end of the bed so I don't 'taint' the main part. Is that weird?

Both! Granted, I use showers to both unwind, and wake up. A long warm steaming shower/bath is always a highlight for my days. Both options have important points to them. Taking a shower at night cleans the day off of you, and makes certain you go into a clean bed.  Taking a shower in the morning is refreshing and helps people get ready for the day to come.

I try to get as much sleep as possible so I don't usually have time in the morning for a shower, plus I hate brushing my hair when it's wet. Definitely agree that both ways are great though!

NeoChrisOmega Apr 3, 2026 +7
Yeah, when I had longer hair, it did take up a LOT more time to deal with it afterwards.  For me I have waterproof technology and notebooks so that I can dedicate some of my personal time to it. So I can still get a lot of sleep.

Ok-Zookeepergame5245 Apr 3, 2026 +4
Same, I do both aswell, I’m surprised that not more people do too.

Responsible_Ask3976 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Depends on if I missed the night when I was supposed to wash my hair because I was too tired so I do it in the morning

MyDamnCoffee Apr 3, 2026 +43
I also prefer to shower at night but if I don't, I just make sure like, my feet are clean. Dirty feet in a bed is disgusting
43
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +11
Agreed! I wear shoes everywhere. I got bit on the foot by bug as a child and it traumatized me lol

FreshBuilder118 Apr 3, 2026 +13
I like showering at night so I can take my time. But I prefer morning showers if I have a long day outside ahead of me, so I'm fresh. I mix it up.
13
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +2
I'm usually pretty quick in the shower, sometimes I do kind of zone out just thinking though. I swear I have my best ideas in there!
2
FreshBuilder118 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Me too! Also, when I have the time, I play music and sing along and I'm not in the mood for that in the morning
1
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +3
Yes!! I love listening to music while I'm showering.
3
npdady Apr 3, 2026 +25
Depends on where you are in the world.
25
world-class-cheese Apr 3, 2026 +7
This is true. Generally speaking, humid climate = shower at night, dry climate = shower in the morning
7
npdady Apr 3, 2026 +30
I've lived in Kansas before and currently in Malaysia. In Kansas, night showers only. In Malaysia, twice, sometimes thrice a day. Morning and night is compulsory. You don't know humid until you live in place where year round humidity is around 90%.
30
llIIIlIllII Apr 3, 2026 +3
Are they full showers or are you just rinsing off?
3
npdady Apr 3, 2026 +9
Full blown showers. You get so oily and sticky from sweat overnight, so morning showers are so important. A lot of westerners who come here to vacation do not know this. They just don't realize how smelly they are in the morning and continue with, not showering in the morning. So much so that there is a stereotype of white tourists being smelly here.
9
Shadowpad1986 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Given coming from a place somewhat arid by comparison can kind of understand. I grew up in Florida so Malaysia is not too different for me. I have been there and loved the weather humidity and all. I prefer humid over dry any day.
1
npdady Apr 3, 2026 +3
Oh if you love humid you'd love Malaysia. It's much more humid and always hot. It's so humid you can't leave a box of cereal out in the open for even half an hour before it turns stale.
3
Shadowpad1986 Apr 3, 2026 +2
I have been to Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Japan. Also was stationed in Cuba when in the US Navy so familiar with humidity outside the states.
2
npdady Apr 3, 2026 +2
That's awesome man.
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +9
Very fair! I think both ways are good, my brain just won't let me sleep with my comfy blankets if I haven't cleaned myself. If I go out in public and sit anywhere for instance, I consider myself dirty. Especially after covid, gotta wash off the public.
9
Pleasant_Pen8744 Apr 3, 2026 +8
Thailand is 3 showers per day  minimum.

bubblegumpunk69 Apr 3, 2026 +3
I’m from Canada and I do a switcheroo halfway through the year lol
3
WaffleClown1 Apr 3, 2026 +19
I prefer to shower at night. I sleep better clean, and the sheets stay cleaner. If I don't shower at night a few times, I'm more likely to wash my sheets soon.
19
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +7
Good point, I do really enjoy the feeling of clean sheets. Its such a hassle to wash them but the reward is so good.
7
EhMapleMoose Apr 3, 2026 +6
I’ve a dog, my sheets are probably dirty. I shower in the morning.
6
TraditionalEvent6102 Apr 3, 2026 +10
yes, it's weird--the lay across the bed part, not the didn't take a shower before bed part
10
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +3
That's the crazy side of me poking out I guess. The real weird part is usually I'm sore if I sleep that way because I guess my bed isn't as comfy down there, plus it's cold because I'll just use my throw blankets so I dont get my main one dirty. More motivation to take a shower I guess.
3
What_Scripture_Saith Apr 3, 2026 +8
I personally prefer morning myself.
8
Guiltypleasure2451 Apr 3, 2026 +7
Shower in the morning, w**** bath at night—face, neck, arms, feet and privates. I don’t like going g to bed with wet hair
7
TenMoon Apr 3, 2026 +5
I have long hair, so morning showers are a must. If I go to sleep with damp hair, I wake up looking like Joey Ramone. Or, now that I've gone gray, maybe Joey Ramone's grandma.
5
ayeyoualreadyknow Apr 3, 2026 +1
I take my shower at night, I blow dry my hair as soon as I get out the shower. I definitely wouldn't want to get my mattress/pillow moldy plus if I don't blow dry it it looks super oily
1
Unfair_Finger5531 Apr 3, 2026 +2
My hair needs to be styled wet (I don’t use styling tools), so morning showers are a must for me. I take showers at night too, and I’ve been going to sleep with damp hair for 40 years without once getting a moldy pillow.
2
Annihilator4life Apr 3, 2026 +9
I can’t sleep if I don’t shower at night. So night.
9
whimsical_spider Apr 3, 2026 +3
I’m complete opposite. Showers are what wake me up!
3
The_Mountaineer_ Apr 3, 2026 +5
Honestly, it depends on the day-- on the weekends or on my days off from work, I'll shower at night or in the afternoon, but during the majority of the work week, I actually prefer to shower in the morning. It's become an indelible part of my morning routine and plus, on days when I have work, I like to work out in the morning since I'll usually be too tired afterwards, so at that point, a morningshower is necessary.
5
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +3
I just got a gym membership and I'm trying to figure out a good time to actually use it. So far I've been going after work days where I get out early that way I'm already dirty and I can just shower afterwards.
3
The_Mountaineer_ Apr 3, 2026 +2
That's not a bad idea. A couple of my friends who also have gym memberships do that if we get out of work early. I try to fit in a small hike if I get out early enough. Sometimes, just a walk in the woods.
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +2
Id be too scared to walk in the woods, plus I hate bugs!! I've also been told I'm pretty oblivious to my surroundings so if anyone was following me or acting crazy Id have no idea. I guess I have the same risk at a gym, but at least that's a public place.
2
Agreatusername68 Apr 3, 2026 +4
Mostly at night, to wash the grime of the day off so I dont put it all over my bed. I also have really oily skin, so it helps a lot to do it at night. If im particularly exhausted, I'll just scrub my face/neck really well before bed. And shower before work.
4
brittttx Apr 3, 2026 +4
I don't have a physically demanding job, so I don't feel dirty at the end of the day. If I work out in the evening, then I shower after. If I don't work out evening, I shower in the morning. I wash my sheets weekly though, so everything balances out, I guess lol 🤷‍♀️
4
GWindborn Apr 3, 2026 +4
Morning, always. Wakes me up and leaves me fresh for the day. Showering at night and then sweating in bed is just weird to me. Plus my hair gets all flattened or weird.
4
Unfair_Finger5531 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Morning shower is my favorite part of the day:). I can’t get started without one.
2
aphrodites_candy Apr 3, 2026 +3
Shower in the morning, quick rinse at night
3
WesternAnxious2750 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Shower at night, obviously to be clean before you sleep and to wash off pollen and allergens. I wash my hair in the morning though, always had short hair which can’t brush and go.
3
ricorette Apr 3, 2026 +3
In the morning because I need it to wake me up! At night, I only wash my face, feet and private parts.
3
whimsical_spider Apr 3, 2026 +2
Yep! I’m exactly the same. I hate mornings, I have to shower to wake up. My nighttime skincare routine is lengthy enough to put me to sleep lol.
2
Relevant_Wedding3812 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Tbh, nothing stops you from doing both. Quick rinse in the morning, proper shower at night. Best of both worlds.
3
crepesarentpancakes Apr 3, 2026 +3
I depends for me. If I did a lot of activity during the day, I definitely shower before bed. Otherwise morning showers. Like some have stated, climate is a big factor too. When I lived in a very humid climate, I usually showered morning and evening cause I was so dang sweaty!
3
MaleficentCover9859 Apr 3, 2026 +3
I cannot start my day without a shower so if I shower at night, it’s my second one for that day.
3
Ad3quat3 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Morning cause I sleep naked and I sweat during the night so I wanna be clean for the day I shower in the morning and it doesn't matter how dirty my bed is
3
Cultural_Comfort5894 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Sleep normally and change the sheets
3
Unfair_Finger5531 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Lololol, such a simple solution.
1
PrestigiousPut6165 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Morning shower. Night shower gives me the dreaded **bed head** I cannot sleep in wet hair!
3
honorspren000 Apr 3, 2026 +3
I have shoulder length hair and it takes two hours to dry, so I shower in the morning. My scalp gets itchy if I don’t wash my hair every day.
3
hungryforknoweledge Apr 3, 2026 +3
Cold showers in the morning and warm showers in the evening.
3
TastyTarget3i Apr 3, 2026 +2
yes
2
LegitimateTater Apr 3, 2026 +2
Shower at night during the work week, and shower in the morning on weekends.
2
mossoak Apr 3, 2026 +2
night ...and sometimes after spending the day doing yard work
2
shortifiable Apr 3, 2026 +2
My personal preference is a bath in the morning but a shower at night.
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
Now this sounds like a good idea! Really relax in the morning.
1
mr_why_no Apr 3, 2026 +2
I love to wake up with a shower, I have a very solid routine because I wake up very early and need to be on autopilot some days. If I workout I will catch a quick shower to wash off the sweat at night, or if it’s a particularly hot day, my job is not very labor intensive most days , but on the ones where I’m out and about I definitely will do a quick shower.
2
FriedTorchic Apr 3, 2026 +2
My hair gets greasy if I only shower before bed, so I have to shower in the morning. If I were doing intensive sports or yard work where I'd get really dirty or sweaty, I'd probably do two a day. But I sit at a desk all day and live in a dry cold environment, so I'm not super dirty when I get down. If anything, I sweat more in my sleep.
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
I dont really sweat that much at night, but I do have two baby fans blowing at me that probably help keep me cool. Mainly I like it for the airflow, if the air is too still it's like I can't breathe 🤣
1
Advanced_Tackle_9723 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Both.
2
Intelligent_Humor_63 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Sleeping vertically?? What, like a horse??? Or do you mean diagonally??
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
Ok like you know the normal way you sleep on a bed, say hot dog style. When I'm sleeping the other way I'm sleeping at the very end of my bed hamburger style like where my feet would normally be. I use a different pillow and different blankets I keep down there too. Diagonally was probably the better and correct word, I'm just tired and didn't think of it oops
1
Intelligent_Humor_63 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Ah, okay... so like horizontally? I mean, You do You, but this raises so many questions. Is your bed crazy wide? Are you like 4 ft tall? Do your legs hang over the end (side????) Are you tired because of the way you're sleeping????
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +2
Its a full size bed, but I sleep kind of curled up so my feet don't really hang off that much when I'm sleeping that way. I'm 5'2 ft tall, and I'm not tired because of that, I've just been up since super early this morning and instead of sleeping I'm playing on my phone lol
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
On second thought I don't think diagonally works because it's not like from one corner to the other, it's straight across at the bottom. I dunno
1
DragonflyFluid8581 Apr 3, 2026 +3
I think horizontal is the word here. But like a horse made me laugh out loud
3
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +2
Yes! Figures this would be the post that gets a lot of comments when I make a typo like that 🤣 didnt mean to tell strangers I sleep standing up lol I swear I don't!
2
DragonflyFluid8581 Apr 3, 2026 +2
A laugh is good for us all! Haha
2
LazyGhoooost Apr 3, 2026 +2
Living in a hot and humid environment, I need to shower every morning and before bed most days
2
Dove-a-DeeDoo Apr 3, 2026 +2
I used to be shower in the morning. I started working out after school, though, so now I shower at night.
2
The_Pharoah Apr 3, 2026 +2
Porque no los dos? I do both - shower in the morning really wakes you up and gets you ready for the day, shower at night before bed cleans you up and gets you ready for sleep.
2
Brilliant_Tutor3725 Apr 3, 2026 +2
warning: autism and ADHD💀 both. i don't like daily routines bc it feels unnatural (3 square meals a day, shower every morning/every night, same tasks, etc). i often shower in the middle on the day, as i get off work an hour or two after 12 (depends on the day). if i have plans with friends/family, i'll shower and wash my hair the night before. if i have plans at night, sometimes i'll shower whenever i wake up🤷‍♀️ i'll shower whenever i can fit it in tbh, and it always depends on whether i'm washing my hair (about once a week) and/or shaving (and *what* i'm shaving). overall, i agree with showering at night bc it keeps the sheets cleaner (afaik), and also i don't like showering with a time limit :)
2
sighologist Apr 3, 2026 +2
usually in the morning. doing it at night results in the best sleep though
2
mjh8212 Apr 3, 2026 +2
I was a night shower person for most of my life. I’m having health issues and I’m doing morning showers cause my symptoms are usually mild in the morning and I actually enjoy it. I’m home all day I’m disabled. Don’t go out much.
2
Elementium Apr 3, 2026 +2
I prefer night showers for the same reason.. but since I work late I just haven't liked getting home, getting in the shower and going to bed.  I also wake up with serious bed hair so a morning shower helps with that..
2
fuckybitchyshitfuck Apr 3, 2026 +2
I have to shower in the morning because if I don't, my hair looks like I'm a homeless schizophrenic. If I'm feeling dirty I'll also shower at night, but it's often not necessary
2
USMCdrTexian Apr 3, 2026 +2
I’m such a hot sleeper - plus my face/neck/ears are just . . . oily? I just can’t greet the day without a shower. If I don’t shower at night ( also ) i do the standard face wash then I do a lean over the edge of the tub quick shampoo ( dude/short hair ) and a quick foot wash.
2
shawtystrawberry Apr 3, 2026 +2
both
2
Ultimatelee Apr 3, 2026 +2
Both
2
Hezekiah_the_Judean Apr 3, 2026 +2
Sometimes both, especially after I work out in the evenings. But I always shower in the morning--I like feeling clean at the start of the day.
2
OSUfirebird18 Apr 3, 2026 +2
If you work an office job, you can choose to shower at night or in the morning. If you work a blue collar (or grey collar job), you can only shower at night. I have to shower at night, I don’t really have a choice.
2
whimsical_spider Apr 3, 2026 +2
I can’t wake up fully in the mornings until I shower (I am by nature very much a night owl and not a morning person). The path from the bed to the shower is an agonizing one lol. I’m a different person when I emerge. If I feel especially yucky from being active or outdoors, I’ll shower before bed, but even then I still have to shower in the morning.
2
InfamousChannel2407 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Only in the morning. Or after I've cut the grass if it's somewhere in the middle of the day or the afternoon.
2
ThunderFireStorm Apr 3, 2026 +5
I prefer shower at night.
5
LG_Psychologist Apr 3, 2026 +2
Night. Clean for bed. Wash the day off. Wash face in the morning.
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
I need to get into washing my face in the morning again, I'm usually rushing out the door so I dont even think about it. I do moisturize though!
1
VanyaStarling Apr 3, 2026 +2
nah the “sleeping vertically so you don’t contaminate the bed” part took me out but I get it, night showers just hit different. morning people be raw dogging the day straight outta bed and I don’t trust that energy tbh
2
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
🤣
1
turn_it_down Apr 3, 2026 +1
Depends on your job.
1
llIIIlIllII Apr 3, 2026 +1
After work because I work on cars all day.
1
SqueeTrashPanda Apr 3, 2026 +1
I think it really depends on your schedule and what you do for work. I have kind of a dirty job so for me it makes more sense to shower at the end of the day, but my partner has a job where he needs to look fresh and presentable so he showers in the morning. Bonus points for us not having to worry about hogging each other's hot water.
1
Katy-Moon Apr 3, 2026 +1
I work out at the gym most mornings so I take a quick shower there but I prefer to have a thorough shower at night before going to bed.
1
NetFu Apr 3, 2026 +1
I'm a shower at noon person. It just fits my work.
1
TheMrsH1124 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Me imagining the Turians sleeping vertically 😂
1
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +2
Ok I think maybe horizontal was a better word for it 🤣
2
TheMrsH1124 Apr 3, 2026 +2
😂😂😂 I totally got what you meant it was just such a funny mental image haha
2
gandalfhurstfrodo-42 Apr 3, 2026 +1
No I do the same thing
1
Maronita2025 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I’m a shower in the middle of the day gal.
1
DragonflyFluid8581 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Me too honestly. I can’t during the week but on the weekends I find myself doing this more often.
2
Maronita2025 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I just work weekends so most days I am just casually hanging around the house all day.
1
PleasedPeas Apr 3, 2026 +1
Morning when I was in my 20’s. Whenever I could find a time, as a mom in my 30’s. Night in my 40’s and mid afternoon now in my 50’s.
1
PhotonDealer2067 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Twice a day. After the gym and before work in the morning and then at night right before bed.
1
Erickajade1 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Both
1
R_Soul_ Apr 3, 2026 +1
Nope!
1
DragonflyFluid8581 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I’m either way and I don’t think the idea of needing a shower at night before bed is so odd. I giggled at the idea of you sleeping at the end of your bed if you don’t though - so thanks for that!
1
masterjon_3 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I'm going to blow your mind and say I shower only every other day. Showering every day is bad for your skin, and I also have a lot of people in the house, so it saves on water. But do I stink? No. Trust me, if I did, someone would let me know. Hell, my wife doesn't let me hug her after a work out until I shower, which I also don't do every day. And you may also be thinking, "what if they're just used to a specific level of stink." Dude, I'm so paranoid about smelling bad, I have asked plenty of people. Trust me. Unless you live in a warm environment, or it's summer, you really don't need to shower every day. ["The soap industry poured a fortune into advertising the idea that daily showering was essential for health, and by the eighties, 90% of Americans said they showered every day."](https://a.co/d/04Zeiwo3)
1
Unfair_Finger5531 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Showering daily is not bad for your skin if you use gentle body cleansers. Harsh surfactants like sodium laureth sulfate, however, are stripping, and they can cause dryness if used daily. People who shower 1-2x daily should avoid cleansers with the ingredients. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with showering every day. If you prefer every other day, that’s valid too. But removing grime and bacteria from your body daily is perfectly normal hygiene practice.
1
masterjon_3 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Hey, I'm not saying you should stop doing what you're doing. I just wanted to share a fun fact
1
FroggiJoy87 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Depends on your job and what you do during the day. I prefer to "rinse off the day" after work, while my husband needs one to wake up. Neither of us have very physically demanding jobs right now and it's a convenient system that works, no fighting over hot water.
1
SkittlesMcgriddles42 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I wfh so I usually shower after my workout, usually midday around 12. If I feel excessively sweaty/dirty, i’ll shower again before bed too but that’s pretty rare.
1
MikoSkyns Apr 3, 2026 +1
I'm blue collar. If I don't wash before bed my sheets would be disgusting
1
Ghost-Raven-666 Apr 3, 2026 +1
No way I’m going to sleep dirty/sweaty
1
motion_pictures Apr 3, 2026 +1
Used to shower in the morning but i love getting into bed freshly cleaned. In the summer sometimes I’ll do a quick cold shower just to feel fresh
1
iceunelle Apr 3, 2026 +1
Night. It just feels gross to get into bed without showering.
1
Unfair_Finger5531 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I shower in the morning and evening. The evening shower is super-quick, just a quick wash and out. The morning shower is when I wash my hair and stuff like that. I live in a desert, and the grime, sand, dust, and heat can make you pretty funky by the end of the day. But I also like to begin the day with clean hair and body; it makes me feel better. So I just do both.
1
Cellar_Door40 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Why not both?
1
Shadowpad1986 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Night showers for me and I grew up in Florida. I need the shower to clean up, unwind, and because our house is a bit dry in the winter (currently live in Kentucky) helps me hydrate my skin some.
1
PM_ME_PREQUELMEMES Apr 3, 2026 +1
Showering in the morning helps me feel awake and ready for the day, but I don’t like to go to bed feeling dirty at all, so I’ve been taking a shower at night and then a quick rinse in the morning, sometimes just my head/hair, and sometimes I’ll actually hop in the shower quick.
1
Thoughtful-Pig Apr 3, 2026 +1
Night. Cleanliness is paramount. But if I could, I would in the morning too. Doing my hair after a shower takes time but looks far better.
1
ltoka00 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Nope, not weird. As kids we all had a bath before bedtime - to clean sure, but the warm water relaxes us too.
1
yutaogoatsu Apr 3, 2026 +1
Minimum night. I can’t ever understand how people shower only in the mornings go about their day get dirty and roll into bed
1
Blodeuyn13 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I always shower at night and then wash my face after brushing my teeth in the morning. If I feel a bit grungy after that, I will stick my head under the shower and wash my hair really quick.
1
tmorse85 Apr 3, 2026 +1
At night. I'm physically disabled, and bathing is exhausting and painful for me. Also, I can't actually take showers because I can't safely stand long enough, nor can I fit a shower chair in my very narrow tub. I take regular baths when I am physically up to it, and I do basically sponge baths at other times.
1
DirtyBirdDawg Apr 3, 2026 +1
I do both, mainly because I work out at different times of day during the week. If I plan on running the in the morning before work then I don't shower the night before. If I run in the evening after work, then I shower afterwards and probably won't shower before work the next day.
1
genital_lesions Apr 3, 2026 +1
Late morning/afternoon. I work from home. It's awesome.
1
Zarchiball Apr 3, 2026 +1
Rinse at night, shower in the morning, I like to start my day super fresh and I don’t like putting on deodorant just to go to sleep

Both if I can. If only one - it's right before bed, always. My skin is so dry that I have to exfoliate in the shower & then use oil. Otherwise I will be itchy the rest of the night.

More evening shower than night for me as I will usually shower when I get home from work/gym.

frink99887 Apr 3, 2026 +1
I work from home, so I like to shower on my lunch break. I get to sleep in a bit more and it gives my hair plenty of time to dry before I go out and do anything after work.

Both.

NixLucida Apr 3, 2026 +1
Sleeping at the end of the bed to keep it “clean” is actually next level logic 😂

Middle-Firefighter52 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Evening. Or straight after getting home from work because I bike. I’m not dirty in the morning again. I don’t sweat. Never smell bad.

If I’ve had a long day, shower at night. If I’m gonna have a long day, shower in the morning.
1
No-Permission1716 Apr 3, 2026 +1
It depends. If I’ve spiraled or dissociated long enough, I wash my face and shower in the morning. I do move the blanket. Otherwise, I usually shower at night.

Both. Sometimes three times if I worked hard.

Night time to reset to clean state before bed. I will shower during the day if i exercise or whatever, and that *might* suffice for my "night" shower it i maintain a clean state. Meaning didnt go outside, didnt cook, didnt interact with rubbish bins etc. I dont shower in the morning. I'm still clean from my night shower. Asian so dont smell much from sweat or BO

night shower gang. crawling into bed clean is one of life's simple pleasures and morning showers just feel like wasting the first 20 minutes of the day standing in steam
1
veebles89 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Normally at night before bed, I don't want to be dirty and get into my nice clean bed. But morning showers when I didn't get good sleep are a necessity to wake me up. I also just don't like being sweaty, so quick day showers in the summer are a thing for me, too. 😂

JustQuestioningCosas Apr 3, 2026 +1
At night. I have long, curly hair and I let it dry overnight and then style it in the morning. Plus, I don’t like to get in bed with the dirt of the day on me.

Bueno yo me ducho en la mañana cuando llevo a mi bebé al colegio, y en la tarde vuelvo y me ducho

Honest-Government967 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Shower at night. I, too, feel a little icky if I don't go to bed clean. Less frequent bed sheet changes need led too.

Night. Who wants to get in bed dirty?
1
jmjessie89 Apr 3, 2026 +1
Night I don’t like getting up earlier than I have to
1
petpman Apr 3, 2026 +1
Exactly, I try to plan things where I get 8 hours of sleep and when I get up I have an hour to get to work. Its like 30 minutes away and I like to have some time to just chill in my car before I go in.

jmjessie89 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Gotta mentally prepare yourself totally get it and eat and relax before going to work too

After a long day of working in the World's pollutants, it's not unusual for the first want is to be clean. Morning brushing your face and washing your teeth can wake you up, maybe doing a bidet, if things got frisky, to make you feel fresh and ready to face the day.

leahwilloww Apr 3, 2026 +1
sleeping vertically at the edge of the bed like you’re quarantining yourself is kinda wild ngl but nah night showers make sense, getting into bed clean just hits different. morning shower people just raw dog the day from sleep sweat and vibes

Night shower person here and I will die on this hill. The logic is simple: you spend all day collecting the world on your skin — commute grime, office air, whatever you touched — and then you're going to bring all of that into your bed? Into your clean sheets? The morning shower people I know argue it "wakes them up" and I get that, but that's what cold water on your face is for. A shower is for washing, not for caffeine substitution. Night shower + fresh sheets is genuinely one of life's underrated pleasures.

Maybe morning showers just aren’t your thing. I sweat at night, and I like to start the day with a clean body and clean hair. So I shower in the morning. Cold face on my water is not adequate for me. The shower does help me wake up, but it’s not the sole reason I shower in the morning. No need to make a case *against* morning showerers to justify your preference for evening showers. We are all different. Your way is not better. It’s just better for you.

Night. Why would I go in my bed dirty?
0
NeekA8822 Apr 3, 2026
If you shower at night you are getting into bed clean and have no need to shower in the morning. Who showers in the morning then goes around allllll day and doesn’t shower before getting into bed? Y’all nasty
0
DragonflyFluid8581 Apr 3, 2026 +2
I’m t try ing to figure out what people are doing to get themselves so nasty?! lol. Sure there are days I feel gross and will shower. But if I’m just at my office or home I don’t feel this need. I guess it depends on the persons job/day.

NeekA8822 Apr 3, 2026
You’re walking around and working and moving all day you’re going to develop some sweat and stank in your groin area and especially in your pits and your hair will hold onto dirt and grease from the day and the back of your neck too. Like who doesn’t shower before bed that’s so gross

SnooMacarons9729 Apr 3, 2026
In the summer I shower at night because you get sweaty during the day and I can’t sleep if I am sweaty. In the winter I shower in the morning so I’m fresh for the day.

vanetti Apr 3, 2026
I shower whenever I feel like it. That is almost never going to be first thing in the morning. It’s also almost never going to be at night before bed. My ideal shower time is somewhere between 4-7 PM, I think.

International_Week60 Apr 3, 2026
Mostly at night except when I was swimming at the pool late evening. Or in the summer if I walk my dog and get sweaty I’ll have a quick shower, and then shower one more time before sleep

BeautifulChaosEnergy Apr 3, 2026
I shower at night. I need to wash the “ick” of the day off. Even if I’ve only been watching Netflix all day lol. Then I just was my face, pits, privates and feet
0
Perfect_Reply6261 Apr 3, 2026
Same here. Night time makes me sleep so much better. I have done both but nighttime shower is a must.
0
Character_Focus_2201 Apr 3, 2026
I shower at night, mostly because I have long, thick hair that takes hours to dry and is much harder to brush when it’s wet. Showering in the morning would be a nightmare for me.
0
Innocent-Lifeline Apr 3, 2026
Honestly that is so relatable. I do the same thing and honestly just laying in bed feeling gross is way worse than the effort of taking a shower anyway. Youre definitely not alone on this one!
