Random observation: both Signal (K‑drama, 2016) and Frequency (US series, 2016) aired the same year and use the same basic trope—people communicating across different timelines via a device (walkie‑talkie / radio), with changes in the past affecting the present.
The execution’s pretty different though. Frequency plays it more as sci‑fi + family/crime procedural, while Signal goes darker and heavier on consequences.
Not comparing quality or recommending—just thought it was interesting that two shows in the same year tackled the same idea in totally different ways.
Anyone else notice this, or know other shows that use the same trope?
That’s the film. What i’m saying is the TV series aired in 2016. Try to search that lol.

I think they responded with that because it uses the same concept, not because they thought you were talking about the film.

Yeah, that year was wild for time radios. If you liked Signal’s darker vibe, you might enjoy Dark or the British Life on Mars for similar time‑bending misery.

There's a Korean version of Life on Mars? OK well I need to watch that to complete my collection of different countries' adaptations of the original

I will compare quality gladly lol Frequency was typical network trash (kudos for at least filming an ending when it was binned though) whereas Signal is genuinely enjoyable, exciting and emotional.
