“The streamer revealed the 10-episode third season will premiere with the first episode on July 3, followed by one new episode every Friday through September 4.”

Is Common in the books because if so I don’t think I can handle it
32
x_lincoln_x 2 days ago +24
No. They invented the entire Judicial department for the show.

Wild.. I thought that was a core part of the world and story building. Insane that was made up.

Did you read book 3? It literally explains everything about how the world ended up where it is.

Lol maybe don’t make authoritative statements on what is or isn’t in a series you haven’t even finished
2
OinkMcOink 2 days ago +3
Rest assured, him and his immaculate leather jacket isn't in the books.
3
Elegant_Worry_9525 2 days ago -5
You sure you read the books?
-5
TLAU5 2 days ago +3
I did. He’s in the books. Has like 5 lines. Only legitimate contribution to the story was in Book 3
3
OinkMcOink 2 days ago +1
I did but I admit it's been a while and looking at the other comment, I might have forgotten he did exist. In my defense, it was a very very minor character.
1
Elegant_Worry_9525 2 days ago +2
Everyone who is saying he is not in the books is wrong. His character is in the books, but is an incredibly minor character. "Judicial" was made up for the show; in the books Sims is the head of IT Security and barely has any speaking lines. But he is there.

What’s everyone’s beef with Common when the main character can’t hold an accent???
-14
odaal 2 days ago +10
because his acting is that of a stiff slice of bread
10
grandladdydonglegs 2 days ago +2
He's only bad in the scenes that he acts tough and serious.

The wool series? Those books were pretty damn awesome.

I quit after the first book. The show has much better worldbuilding and character development.
10
Ashutor 3 days ago +17
I read them all and I agree. This is a rare case where the adaptation is better than the source material.
17
meatball77 2 days ago +4
The books are obviously self published which has pros and cons.

I only read second book and loved it. Completely readable on its own

Ordinary-Egg-56 2 days ago -4
you’re 100% right. i’m a huge fan of this show and it’s one of the rare instances when the show is better than the movie. i couldn’t help myself and read through the whole series. i got bored thru season 2 and stopped watching so honestly it’s a pretty mixed bag with the show now. but absolutely read the books and i’m looking forwards to hearing reviews for season 3

Mozzafella 2 days ago +1
You good bro?
1
DelcoInDaHouse 2 days ago -2
Then DO NOT watch Foundation!
-2
Ashutor 2 days ago +3
I have read and watched both. I actually like what they did in the show with the Cleon clones. This makes it much easier for continuity in story telling with a story that has by nature enormous time jumps. Books remain better imo but I have not read them for a while.
3
TheCultofJanus 1 day ago +1
I agree. It may not be true to the books but it's still really great sci fi.
1
hungariannastyboy 3 days ago -6
They get progressively worse and the ending/reveal is a total letdown.

donvito716 3 days ago +1
So wrong as the second book is by FAR the best of the three. Then the third is ok.
1
TyrusX 2 days ago +3
Jesus.. I found the second book horrible…
3
mmkaywhatevers 3 days ago +59
I'll be watching but I hope the story moves throughout the season. It's been nothing happening until the last 10 mins of season finale so far.
59
Former_Island_4730 3 days ago +57
The first two seasons were the first book stretched out (with some extra storylines added). The third season will be book 2, and the final season will be book 3. They should move faster. There’s tons of exposition to get through.
57
IntrepidDreams 3 days ago +29
I think they'll combine book 2 and 3 into season 3 and 4 and work through the timeline a little differently, otherwise we don't see the cast from the first two seasons at all for season 3.
29
Interesting_Past 3 days ago +14
Agreed, you wouldn't have Juliette in the promo for this season if they were only covering book 2
14
DGSmith2 3 days ago +1
Juliet is at the end of book 2 isn’t she?

TheFlameosTsungiHorn 3 days ago +4
There is this thing called a story, and you have to tell it in order for it to make sense
4
mmkaywhatevers 3 days ago +5
There's this thing called story telling and there's more effective ways to go about it to keep the engagement.
5
TheFlameosTsungiHorn 3 days ago +2
Your inability to remain engaged is not the fault of the storytellers You need moments of exposition or else it’s just a montage of action scenes, that doesn’t make a good story
2
mmkaywhatevers 3 days ago +3
When there's many others that feel the same way as I do, then it becomes the fault of the storytellers. Not everybody is a homer like you.

Art isn’t a democratic process, especially in an age where media literacy is at an all-time low Y’all are just media illiterate
2
gaytechdadwithson 2 days ago +1
yeah, this show is boring AF. how can they make murders and setting like that entirely boring and drawn out so much?
1
shouldehwouldehcould 2 days ago +1
2nd season was an unbearable slog dragged out. i felt totally taken for granted. if i get a hint of the same behaviour in s3, im done with it all.
1
AgentPoYo 3 days ago
It's going to premiere with a big hook, Jules is going to faff about for 8 episodes before addressing the initial hook then end in a big cliffhanger for the next season... just like the last two seasons.
0
mmkaywhatevers 3 days ago +1
yup that's how it's been for me as well but those final cliffhangers have been bangers, so I am still watching.
1
Reggaeton_Historian 2 days ago +5
Quite a lot of people upset that this show is being called a slog. It's an interesting show, but it's absolutely a slow burn and people are allowed to call it as such. The pilot was very interesting to me and then it switches and you're left slow burning through a mystery for a handful of episodes. Season 2 was no different. Good show. Just felt incredibly dragged out.

Can’t wait to watch this in September. Don’t care for weekly drops now that I have a choice and am so far behind on other series I can afford to wait.
25
Pretend-Break-6046 3 days ago +24
I've always felt this is such a strange way to watch mystery box shows like Silo or Severance or Lost. The theorizing and clue spotting is literally half the fun! You're missing out on so much if you just binge watch these sorts of shows
24
Steve_didit 3 days ago +9
Couldn’t agree more. The social aspect of it too, discussing theories and clues with other people. This has really been lost with streaming.

DNihilus 3 days ago +3
if its anything like season 2's pacing you are not missing anything more like you are gaining something
3
AHRA1225 3 days ago -2
This is me with any show. It comes out I wait about 6 months and then binge for freee on some stream website. Ya ya hurting companies by not paying. But honestly paying for stream services(cable 2.0) is dumb ass hell
-2
brianstormIRL 3 days ago +7
Ive done this basically since GOT ended, but me and my girlfriend started watching the Pitt and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms weekly and I have to say, its really nice having something to look forward to at the same time every week. We turned it into a mini date night where we order takeout, get some wine and its been glorious.

gatsome 3 days ago +2
This is why reactivating for a month at a time is the best way. If you’re still watching it, keep it. Otherwise going over to Prime or Hulu or Netflix to get a month or two out of them is simple and you can rotate onward. At most you’re out the $15-20 a month depending.
2
Noarchsf 3 days ago +1
Totally this. I’m more than happy to pay for what I watch. But only for what I watch. One streamer at a time, cancel and switch to the next one.
1
AHRA1225 3 days ago
Or you can just use the endlesss free streaming sites that exist on the internet. Shit I’ll wait a year plus to binge watch a show for free. F*** cable 2.0

gatsome 3 days ago +3
Yes we know because you just got done saying that

ex0thermist 3 days ago +2
Talk yourself into whatever delusion you want. Streaming services are nothing like cable.

I did this for years. Apple broke me. No app for android (at least back when silo s1 came out). When i ended the subscription 2 weeks before the the finale, i could not sign in anymore. It required me to activate my account again, even tough i had paid in advance. I still pay for HBO max because i got the -50% deal. I would gladly pay 30-40 euros for a monthly subscription for a service that offers everything for one screen. An X amount of money would be paid up front for big library providers and the rest would be divided to according to who´s content I´m consuming. But there is no service like this, so i buy a prepaid sim every month. Its 20 euros for 100/100mb and use a software that basically does what i described but its all torrents and only the ISP gets my money.

Hopefully it's a lot better paced than season 2 which was an absolute snore fest.

vortexnl 3 days ago +3
I let my girlfriend watch it with me and she fell asleep almost every episode, I have no idea how they can manage to release episodes where nothing happens 💀
3
NotAnotherBlingBlop 3 days ago +2
Seriously. I could not give less of a shit about anyone in the silo except the main character and yet she barely gets any screen time.

sounds like season 1

hipstrionic 3 days ago +3
I wanted so badly to get into it but it feels so bland and generic.
3
themagictoast 3 days ago +3
Both seasons so far have had great starts, slow middles, and great ends. So definitely one to binge rather than watch weekly.
3
Joe434 3 days ago +1
same, its my genre, and i tried sooooo hard but stretches of it were soooo boring. The ending of season 1 did make me want binge season 2, but sounds like its more of the same
1
Illuvatar08 3 days ago +1
Generic? Are you sure you watched the right show?
1
hipstrionic 3 days ago +2
It's the same dystopian story all the time. It just happens to be in a silo this time.
2
jimohagan 3 days ago -6
The whole show has been more disappointing than Foundation.
-6
NotAnotherBlingBlop 3 days ago +2
I like Foundation...
2
TheFlameosTsungiHorn 3 days ago +1
Foundation was good until the Season 3 finale, that was GOT S8 levels bad
1
jimohagan 3 days ago +1
I want to like it but I can’t. I read the books and it could have been a really neat way to introduce great actors to the universe… like with Fargo. Heck the Empire doesn’t really do much after they first land on Terminus.

Yes. I'd call it a relatively normal pacing drop for a season 2 given the nature of season 1. When you plan season 1 for getting greenlit for season 2, it often requires an unfortunate amount of setup because that wasn't made a priority. The extra 12 months of waiting is weighing on people imo.
2
Pretend-Break-6046 3 days ago +1
It's certainly a downgrade on season 1 in every way possible. It could easily have been condensed into 4 episodes. It picks up towards the end but a few of the episodes were definitely a slog to get through
1
iwant2be5again 2 days ago +1
Do you suggest I just watch a recap of the episodes in the first half of the season, and then watch the last few episodes start to finish? I personally have a hard time committing to sitting in front of a tv for hours watching something subpar.
1
Pretend-Break-6046 1 day ago +1
Yes you can do that and not really miss anything lol
1
newaccount721 3 days ago +1
I thought it was ok but nothin much happens. I am hoping it pays off because they're not stretching the source books into multiple seasons for season & 4 so hoping it's a bit faster. We will see
1
Lucky-Access8399 3 days ago -2
If it’s a slog like season 2 then pass. Season 1 was riveting and excellent storytelling but season 2 was ass.
