Monkberry moon delight may kill him at this age. Ram on, on the other hand he often plays at sound check and would be pretty sweet.

Legit my favorite song any Beatle has done.

cavity-canal Apr 8, 2026 +4
May I suggest the band Man Man if you are a fan of that sound

CunninghamsLawmaker Apr 9, 2026 +1
Great band. Giant pain in the ass to search for though.
1
lylelanley- Apr 8, 2026 +3
Ram on or MMD?
3
SlowmoSauce Apr 8, 2026 +4
Monkberry.

*Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey* was trending on TikTok a while ago. Give the children hands across the water!

I’d rather these him break out “Love Take Me Down (To The Streets?” from his Wings days

The 10-minute long Secret Friend from the McCartney II bonus tracks.

They took his performance at the SNL 50th off YouTube 😭

TyposIncoming Apr 8, 2026 +39
That will be Olivia Rodrigo's first time hosting, Matt Damon's 3rd time hosting with his most recent prior was 12/15/2018, and Will Ferrell's 6th time as a host with the most recent prior being 11/23/2019.
39
Own_Citron6260 Apr 8, 2026 +117
excited to see Olivia host. And she’ll be singing two new songs when only one will be released by then likely. That’s interesting

Mistrblank Apr 8, 2026 -123
Is she acting in something or are we just at a point where we put young female singers on SNL like YouTube thumbnail clickbait? I’m not complaining, just asking. For a friend.
-123
Vet_Leeber Apr 8, 2026 +33
>Is she acting in something or are we just at a point where we put young female singers on SNL like YouTube thumbnail clickbait? SNL has had non-actors appear since ***literally the second episode ever filmed***. Paul Simon hosted the second episode. So why exactly do you have a problem with a _young female_ singer doing so?
33
ascagnel____ Apr 9, 2026 +2
The first episode (before it had the name "Saturday Night Live") was hosted by George Carlin.
2
Vet_Leeber Apr 9, 2026 +5
Yes, but George Carlin already had acting credits in '75, so I skipped him to make a point.
5
Locke108 Apr 8, 2026 +48
She was on two Disney shows.
48
bananaslug178 Apr 8, 2026 +34
She was an actress before she was a singer.
34
Own_Citron6260 Apr 8, 2026 +40
She’s done acting but SNL has always had singers host. If dua lipa, charli xcx, Sabrina carpenter can do it why not her.
40
Mistrblank Apr 8, 2026 -45
Sabrina has had a little wider of an acting career than just Disney and her TV credit under Disney is a slightly larger Girl Meets World than most Disney. Dua Lipa was breaking into acting at the time of her hosting gig with Barbie already and Argyle. It make sense to pull her in if she's trying to go mainstream acting. And Charli XCX has had random voice credits and several films pushing into acting. Olivia is currently just singing and focused on singing. Two Disney shows in the past and an American Girl Doll movie before that are fine, but not exactly like she's pushing her acting role in anything recently. I'm not trying to say she's bad, just seems like an odd choice.
-45
sloppyjo12 Apr 8, 2026 +45
I mean that’s still more acting experience than when Elon Musk, Charles Barkley, Travis Kelce, the Manning brothers, or a whole bunch of others hosted. She’ll be fine
45
rutfilthygers Apr 8, 2026 +23
Dua Lipa is in Barbie for six seconds and Argyle for a couple of scenes.
23
i_dunnoman Apr 8, 2026 +13
I mean she’s a massive megastar SNL would be stupid not to go for it.
13
jwhollan Apr 8, 2026 +12
She has a album coming out like a month later or something
12
bluehawk232 Apr 8, 2026 +7
Acting isn't much of a factor for SNL guests I mean they've had Trump and Musk on they just need someone to stand and read cards
7
mlorusso4 Apr 8, 2026 +2
Why does acting experience count? The SNL host is just has to be a celebrity. They have non actors host all the time, mostly athletes, but also comedians, singers, and every once in a while a politician
2
3-orange-whips Apr 8, 2026 -15
Disney kids are famously bad at acting. Disney is SO lenient.
-15
DoopSlayer Apr 8, 2026 +26
I hope Paul participates in a skit
26
tetoffens Apr 8, 2026 +8
Hope so. He was actually really funny in Spinal Tap 2.

I'm not the biggest fan of Will Ferrel's movies, but by god I love him on SNL
36
acciopizza_ Apr 8, 2026 +21
Same. His comedy style works a lot better in sketches than films. That’s just my opinion though. Obviously he has a big audience because his movies have done well.
21
Vintrial Apr 8, 2026 +2
will ferrel is the type of comedian that would've thrived in the social media age from short media content
2
billmurrayspokenword Apr 8, 2026 +9
See: Funny or Die
9
mlorusso4 Apr 8, 2026 +8
Are you trying to imply he didn’t thrive without it? Because he was one of the most successful comedy actor/writer of the 00’s and 10’s. If anything you could argue short form content killed his career
8
mdlinc Apr 10, 2026 +1
His shrts with his daughter landlord and police. LMAO
1
Vintrial Apr 8, 2026
i never implied that lol
0
Mattyzooks Apr 9, 2026 +1
Well he probably would've agreed since he did co-found Funny or Die a short media content comedy site/page in 2007. It was quite a successful venture. Granted, by 2010, he had well begun his comedic decline from being on top of the zeitgeist (will defend The Other Guys to anyone though).

> Olivia Rodrigo will pull double duty as both host and musical guest on May 2; Matt Damon will host the May 9 episode with Noah Kahan serving as musical guest; and the season finale on May 16 will be headlined by Will Ferrell as host and Paul McCartney as musical guest.
28
Undeniably_Awesome Apr 9, 2026 +5
So excited for Noah Kahan. His new album is going SLAP (while being incredibly depressing)
5
PeeFarts Apr 8, 2026 -49
It used to be a special, rarity when the Host and Musical guest were shared. Now it happens 2-3 times per season. It sort of lost its charm for me.
-49
jwhollan Apr 8, 2026 +16
It may have been less common in the past for someone to have both a musical and acting background. I mean, Disney has kinda made that their thing so it’s pretty common these days. Idon’t think it’s meant to be like “check out this rare special event!” It’s just “oh, she can do both? Ok cool, let’s just have her fill both spots then”
16
PeeFarts Apr 8, 2026 +3
That’s a great point about Disney.

Djo you will be a musical guest one day💔 Great lineup for May tho
27
ROBtimusPrime1995 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Excited to see him live with Tame Impala this summer. Hopefully, he gets his time to shine on SNL someday.
3
BurgerNugget12 Apr 8, 2026 +2
Yeah I have tickets for Boston! Excited, am a bit shocked ngl that he hasn’t been a musical guest yet, thought it would’ve been perfect when Finn Wolfhard hosted
2
Raptorpicklezz Apr 8, 2026 +1
No offence, Djo is great, but when you have one of the guys who very clearly influenced Djo still alive and performing, you milk that until he’s done and ready to fully pass the torch to Djo

TheBr0fessor Apr 8, 2026 +5
Oh hell yeah!!! Matt Damon 100% gonna be back as Todd #rideordieforweezer
5
ILoveRegenHealth Apr 8, 2026 +2
Would be hilarious if Leslie Jones surprise cameos here just to come back and argue with Matt Damon's character again. Their Weezer beef was never squashed. Underrated Kenan line in that sketch: "I *will* testify this time"
2
TheBr0fessor Apr 8, 2026 +3
At this point, I’m convinced one of the SNL writers is a mod on the Weezer sub because that exact argument has happened 100s of times there
3

Olivia rodrigo double duty yup wbk

Hopefully more celebrity jeopardy

masterz13 Apr 9, 2026 +1
I had to stop watching a few years ago. Most of the skits just suck and don't know how to properly end...they almost always end as an ad for a random product.
1
Calfzilla2000 Apr 8, 2026
I don't know Olivia. Matt Damon will be great at least. He's on that Ryan Gosling level for me, in terms of his ability to go all-in on sketches and he has great instincts. Will is hit or miss. His comedy instincts aren't what they once were. But hope he does well.

/r/SNL was right about Sir Paul!

Fussy_Fucker Apr 8, 2026 -4
Now if they can just be funny again, I’m there.

rautx15 Apr 8, 2026 -19
How do people still get excited for SNL, or any syndicated television for that matter?
-19
tetoffens Apr 8, 2026 +12
SNL is not syndicated television. The term syndicated in this context comes from journalism where the same content would appear in multiple publications in different markets. In television, it took on the meaning of multiple networks where a show doesn't have an exclusive home. SNL is first run exclusive to NBC.
12
rautx15 Apr 8, 2026 -7
Ahhh fair enough my mistake. I guess I ment “network” or “network exclusive” television. But my question still stands. I don’t know how people can watch shows like 9-1-1 or The Rookie for instance.
-7
LindsayDuck Apr 8, 2026 +3
I agree with those, but SNL is kind of the exception for me. It’s timely and while sometimes it’s hit and miss I like pop culture. But I’m starting to prefer the new SNL UK surprisingly.
3
The-Big-Bad Apr 8, 2026 +3
SNL has some hits. And comfort shows are a thing, where you can just turn it on and have fun. My brother and law loves the rookie and all those procedural shows. Some people just love to watch something easy
3
Mental-Rush2011 Apr 8, 2026 -17
Because everyone wants to see an 80 year old musical that they already have seen 100 times

I DO!! Anyone have tickets they want to sell???? :)

Who????
-8
zgrizz Apr 8, 2026 -48
It's SNL. Hasn't been funny for 30 years. Why change now?
-48
I-Have-Mono Apr 8, 2026 +21
This is like an amalgamation of what a bot would say about /r/SNL. Or a played out human.
21
ILoveRegenHealth Apr 8, 2026 +4
This guy above is a Trump sheep according to his post history. No wonder he mad. They make fun of his pedo-rapist President. Imagine being dumb enough to try to defend the indefensible.
4
Mrchristopherrr Apr 8, 2026 +5
SNL was only funny during the years I was 13-23, as it was for my father and as it will be for my son.
