I’ve seen the original mummy at least 2-3 times before this trilogy run. So mummy returns and mummy tomb of the dragon hunter were all new experiences as for my reviews here they are. The mummy-1999 It’s a classic, dare I say more of a horror movie than adventure I mean it’s seriously horrifying how much horror element there is in this. Best story by far, great acting from most cast and it was actually enjoyable. The mummy returns-2001 Boy this is when uh things start to take a wrong turn for some reason the mummy is back and he wants revenge rightfully so lol, anyways it’s a decent story with some funny jokes here and there but it was so dumb of them to pretend Evelyn died and then surprise! Not really she won’t!. Just Ugh and that Dwayne Johnson scorpion king cgi was just wow really bad and laughable no kidding I laughed for a hard minute there. And finally the unspeakable pile of shite The mummy- Tomb of the dragon emperor-2008 Yea dude just uh what the f***? Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse boy oh boy did it. The new Alex actor is god awful and insufferable hes an arrogant and hot headed prick. The changed Evelyn actress is annoying and I wanted to gouge my eyes out every time she appeared in a scene to deliver a line or share a moment with another character. Not only that what the f*** genuinely happened?! We went from mummies to yetis to f****** dragons?! Like yes I know he’s a dragon emperor or whatever but ok? lol?? It still doesn’t make sense and then he shapeshifts into a beast with idk what the hell name to give it. Anyway God awful end to a trilogy! All that yap being said, let me know what your favourite is and why.

Yea I can imagine. To be fair as much as I want to make fun of it there comes a point. Since the cgi team had to cut corners and rush to meet the deadline for the movie to be realised. But in all seriousness it really goes to show what happens when a company rushes stuff to get it out.

I like Mummy 1 and 2 but I tried to watch Mummy 3 literally two days ago and I had to stop before I even got 20 minutes in. Maria Bello’s English accent just isn’t it.

Mummy Returns plot is absolute nonsense and the Scorpion King CGI is legendarily bad but it’s I think it’s so much fun and is pretty much non stop big action set pieces. I think it’s aged great because it’s so much better than 98% of the action movies that we get today even if it was pretty average in 2001.

Just got finished watching The Mummy Returns in the theater. Sure it’s got its issues but it was so much fun and I haven’t seen it in ages. It amazes me now the huge difference we have between then and now. I feel like I got more than my moneys worth from this movie. It had the perfect amount of action, drama, adventure and humor. But the humor isn’t suffocating like it is now in most movies. I had a smile on my face the whole time. They just don’t make movies like this anymore.

True it isn’t as bad as I probably said it was just a major letdown from the first.

I like the first one, but The Mummy Returns is my favorite. It's a fun dumb movie. I think the third one is ok, but it's definitely the weakest of the trilogy. I also enjoy The Scorpion King spin off movie with The Rock Johnson. Anyway, I love these movies.

I know he was the bad guy but to this day I still feel bad for Imhotep when he and Rick are hanging on to the edge of the cliff and Evie saves har man but Anck-su-namun turns chicken shit and nopes tf out. Imhotep looks genuinely hurt and realizes he's cooked and is basically like f*** it and lets go. It's crazy because all of the stuff he did was because he loved her. But now that I'm thinking about it I don't think she had her soul or whatever so she wasn't fully her. I can't remember if that was the case or not. Maybe if she was truly Anck-su-namun she would've tried to save him.

Haha funny thing is before I even saw mummy returns I saw this exact scene with a caption “true love” or something and it is quite sad because he realises she was only with Him for what he could give her she did not truly love him and ran the first chance she got.

As for her soul being back it was. He brought her original soul back she genuinely just up and ran 😭

Once the new Mummy movie comes out in a couple of years, Stephen Sommers is not going to count the dragon one as canon. On another note, Brendan, Rachel, and John are all coming back for the 4th.

I know this. Thankfully all the original cast is coming back I’m hoping it’s not bad 🙏😭

Mummy 3 is a guilty pleasure of mine and [the main theme](https://youtu.be/21QTPgHo16c) is pretty much permanently stuck in my head. Also loved Mummy Returns and all its stupidity. They also somehow managed to not make the kid insanely annoying.

wild how the first one is such a classic and then it just falls off a cliff. mummy returns had its moments, but dragon emperor was a total disaster. for me, the original is the GOAT, hands down!

Yea that’s exactly how I feel, I mean Stephen sommers did direct the first 2 and then produced the third but I feel like even if he did direct the last one it wouldn’t have been great either way.

Might I add, the best part about tomb of the dragon cornball would be when one of the brought back soldiers that died and were awaken to fight the emperor slice a head of their fellow soldier and the he tries to get it back on i was laughing quite a bit in that. Someone had funny editing that in for sure! 🤣

The reason why the CGI was terrible for the Scorpion King is because with Dwayne's crazy wrestling schedule, they couldn't get a proper body scan.

Apparently I've gone my entire life thinking that The Scorpion King (2002) was the end of the trilogy and I had no idea they even made an actual third one.
