I held off on the latest season, and finally got to it. I guess I forgot what drew me to it (or at least kept me tuned in) in the first place, i think, is in the way this show handles the 'little moments'. Not many big things happen, or at least happen at random, messily in a way that not many other show do. Like a different overall approach to the acting method for the entirety of the show. Everyone feels like theyre in the same world. The interactions have stumbles, interruptions, talking over one other by mistake, longer stares when thinking of responses, and a pleasing editing rhythm too that will linger on things for some time while also not being overly indulgent. I realize these things (among probably some others) have been what keep me seated, and a lot of moments in the show I've found have actually brought me to tears almost inexplicably..not so much about the what of the matter between characters, but the how..how they respond to one another and so forth in subtle ways.
I guess at this point it's kind of spinning its wheels plot wise (is this resto gonna hit some kind of stride or what?) but despite that I find I enjoy watching the characters shoot the shit STILL, which imo says a lot for it, especially when it doesnt 'go' many places and even keeps circling back to the same struggles. Wondering if anyone else shares this thought and finds it equally effective in doing at least that much right?!
