Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen

Posted by Naive_Temporary1244

I recently binged this show in two days and I very much enjoyed it! As someone who loves horror genre type TV shows this was right up my alley! I read that a lot of people didn’t enjoy the ending and you could figure it out halfway through but I thought it was great! Anyone else watch it? What are your thoughts?? I thought it was such a fun watch! Edit: typo

Biggest takeaway was how captivating and good performance the lead had.

Why are positive reviews for this show so similar here? It's suspicious. I saw it. It's not a great show, but it had its moments here and there, it was enjoyable. For example, I liked "one cut" episode about commotion before the wedding: that episode was very atmospheric. Most of acting was good to great too (Victoria Pedretti stole the show despite being a guest actress). The FL is definitely better than she was in season of The Night Manager this winter (by the way, she is Al Pacino's stepdaughter and used to be a girlfriend of DiCaprio). But she isn't even in Top-5 pf the best actors of the show. But yeah, it was, like, two different shows in one, and a viewer can predict the ending after episode 4 immediately. Which happened to me. I hoped for them to subvert my expectations (in a good way), but, alas, no. I guess, reserves of bait and swith were spent in previous episodes, and there was a lot of bait and switch.

Probably because when everybody binges something in a couple days, it doesn't give much room to focus on specifics and you end up with everybody saying the same things. And even still it's not like there's that much to it past unpacking the possibly nonsensical mechanics of the curse, fun horror ride but nothing life changing.

Who in their right mind choses to cut off their toe instead of pull out a tooth?!! That part pissed me off lol.

A tooth doesn't qualify as a bone. Given the circumstances, I wouldn't have taken a chance on a technicality either.

Maybe it will get better but I'm still struggling to get through it. Finished Detective Hole in the same time frame

How was Detective Hole?? I’m intrigued but don’t want to commit yet.

I liked it but the last couple episodes things started to get a bit lame. Didn’t like the ending, and it started to feel a bit stranger things-esque. Spoiler: I didn’t like how cut off her toe just to not drink the concoction before the wedding. Could she not have made that decision before severing a toe 😭

That infuriated me lol. Whhhhy would you do all of that just to change your mind?!

It felt like the writers didn’t fully flesh that part out, which is why it was giving me stranger things vibes lol

2 hour movie in an 8 episode bag. Solid acting, creepy tone, wild plot...and absolutely a grind to get through.

I thought the acting was one of the best things about it. Especially all of the nonverbal acting, you don't always get a lot of that in this genre. Whispering is also done really poorly in a lot of things, it was done very well here.
