Life gets to be so busy. I never realized how nice it can be to roll into the weekend not having any plans after weeks and weeks of relentless “things.” Work, activities, parties, celebrations, get togethers. Looking forward to nothing this weekend!
My exciting Friday night plans were cancelled and I couldn’t be happier

Every couple of months or so my wife and I will have a no plans weekend. Put the phones on do not disturb we sit around eat foods we shouldn't and just chill go to the movies or whatever we feel like. The kids and grand kids get snippy but hey we're entitled to our space.

I love this. We need to make it part of our routine and not wait for it to happen.

Unfortunately I work second shift 1p - 11p, and W-M. So to say I miss out on a lot is an understatement, because when I'm not working, I'm trying to catch up on sleep, waking up with just enough time to go back to work.
On my weekdays off - I spend the first day catching up on sleep, and the second day doing chores like cleaning and laundry so I return to work exhausted.
I said all that to say this - I only actually get rest when I'm sick and call off work. Like this week. I was sick for four days, by day 3, I was finally feeling better and rested. Just in time to return to work. Sad when one has to be sick, just to get some rest.

I only get a single day off a week. Zero plans except it will include a home cooked dinner and a walk with my dogs. Everything else will be by whim!

Yes it might be a lie that we must treasure the time or we must do something on weekends, doing nothing is actually a big doing.

God yes. I spent years feeling guilty if I didn't have something "productive" planned for the weekend. Now? A whole Saturday with nowhere to be and no alarm set is basically luxury. Might even turn my phone off.

Absolutely, it's great to just decompress, hang around the house in sweats, spend time with family, and just do absolutely whatever you want

I love lazy days... Never get time to think... so when I do, thats when I get inspired to make great things.

I agree. In a society when we need to perform everyday that is necessary

The only thing better than a weekend with zero plans is a weekend where you had plans, but the other person canceled at the last minute.

I’m unfortunately in the opposite situation- I’ve had too many weekends with no plans unfortunately. Wish I had more to do where I live.
