“Why would he step down? In his leadership manual, ‘ignore impeachment calls and hope accountability gets bored’ is page one.”

How very American of you. Corruption is not unique to the USA.

I didn't say it was...and, actually, I could have seen, for example, a Canadian making the same comment.

"Squirrel" Ramaphosa living up to his nickname by squirreling US$ away in his couch!

Why was he hoarding money in his furniture? Most people keep their money in a bank. This story is kind of weird.

It's possible that nothing illegal happened. The farm is supposedly remote and highway robberies are not uncommon in South Africa, so could be they had to wait for a properly secured transport to pick up the money. But we know way too little about the whole incident. We don't even know for sure how much money was stolen and for how long it was hidden in furniture on the farm before the robbery.

Your suggestion about highway robberies is very valid. But that then begs the question why not pay for the animals via bank transfer, and why pay in $US when our legal tender is the Rand?

For the same reason Zuma got the firepool.

Lmfao. You sound like an ANC cadre with your reply. It's not possible that "nothing illegal" happened. If it was legal why would Ramaphosa not declare the foreign currency as is required by SA law?

Nice, excited for another decade of rolling brownouts, rampant corruption and slide back to pre-modern standard of living

I know of a guy twice impeached and then he was reelected for President, so this doesn't surprise me.
