“Officers are currently suspended from their job.” This happened in 2019. Have these guys been on paid vacation for seven years? (sigh)

Is this that one where some thieves were in the truck and took the driver hostage or something like that, and the police, knowing this, shot like 1000 bullets or something insane at the truck?

Yes, they also killed another innocent motorist.

Absolutely ridiculous. Stand your ground laws wouldn’t protect a regular Joe firing at a criminal surrounded by innocent people.

Absolutely crazy that shooting innocent bystanders is going to be considered okay because this ruling sets a precedent and a bad one.

would this not open the door to blowing cops away in (precieved) self defence also?!

Yes, but no. Rules for me but not for thee.

Well if it’s go to jail or get killed, I have an idea of which I’d pick

This law would allow a mass shooter to gun down a bunch of people then make the argument that he felt threatened as justification for the shooting spree, i believe. Completely bonkers.

The average citizen is held to a higher standard than the police in the US.

Actually .... In Kansas City, someone fired in a crowd at a massive Super Bowl gathering, killed a bystander, recently acquitted because it couldn't be proven that they weren't standing their ground (I'm sure I'm generalizing, but that's the understanding I got).

Lmao, stand your ground laws now protect against shooting admittedly totally innocent bystanders, amazing.

It's even worse than that. These hogs used MULTIPLE cars full of innocent bystanders as cover and shot multiple innocent people to include the poor UPS driver who was taken hostage. The video is a sickening example of the cowardice of modern police officers.

OMG this is THAT one! Hostage and bystander dead, both by police bullets.

Yup, and a bunch of other drivers hit by police bullets and I believe the pigs even shot each other. All because of one man with a pistol. That 'profession' is a f****** joke.

Yeah the video is one of the most egregious cases of disregarding public safety I've ever seen. It's a natural consequence of the cases that the police have no duty to protect.

Cops can kill innocent people. But a doctor has a patient die, and they can no longer be a doctor.

F***, modern police forces in the US need liquidated as an organization. They’ve lost all semblance of a purpose in our society. Rebuild the group from the ground up. Take all firearms, less-lethals, and general weapons away from them. If criminals require more than a revolver to handle, police are not the solution. Call in specifically trained individuals equipped to handle the escalation. Police unions need eliminated. The only reason they still exist is due to the guns we allow them to have. If you armed every USW or teamsters member with similar equipment I imagine steel mills might negotiate differently. Police are no different at all. What an absolute failure of leadership, training, and accountability.

Legal precedent has literally ruled that they are not responsible for protecting people. What is the point of them other than as a civilian-aimed non-military army?

Then we need to set a new legal precedent.

Hahahaha the laws are a joke. Cops get away with murder again. Negligence and incompetence abound.

Somehow, the words, responsibility, accountability, and police are never put together. I guess all the good cops in America must be on vacation this week because you don’t hear a peep from them about this,f****** cowards.

Police cleared in shooting death, that’s so routine that it is hardly surprising. An Officer being tried, let alone convicted, would be a news worthy event.

On the bright side it'll force an appeals court to look at this....

In many red states if a woman is told by professionals her life is in absolute danger from a fetus, she can be jailed from terminating the pregnancy. But if someone simply fears for their life without a second opinion. they are allowed tun gun down and kill the threat.

Thisareor Apr 1, 2026 +2
Clear answer all pregnant people become cops so they can fear for their life and kill the fetus.
