Spain was one of the OG financial backers of a fledgling America. No surprise they're helping Ukraine.

As a Belgian. We do not have the funds for this.
But as our government usually does, we will just raise taxes on the already highest taxed people in the world.

Don’t complain. All people from my country go to work and live in Belgium. According to them it is a good life, clean and tidy.

It is. Most Belgians just like to complain a lot. For no good reason.

Ah yes, that's why all the rich people in the Netherlands move to Belgium, because the taxes are higher in Belgium /s

Not even top 5 most taxed.
[Taxed highly per income/sales tax, sure, but that is returned via a pretty dope f****** way of living. Corporate tax is far lower in regards to the top other countries, only 4 percent higher than that if the USA, 25-21 percent. ](https://share.google/T1Lq46MBtWaLIipaM)
The point was that Spain (not nearly as affluent nor capable) is nearly as unwilling as Belgium (who have the means, by all seeming means) but generally dont do such a thing for other countries.
Belgium specifically has come across as a Switzerland-Lite for decades.

Thats just the top tax bracket, completely irrelevant. Here are the actual stats, belgium is in fact #1 in the oecd: https://www.oecd.org/content/dam/oecd/en/publications/reports/2025/04/taxing-wages-2025-country-notes_16d47563/austria_c1a885f9/54dd00e1-en.pdf

Nothing I said nor linked is wrong. You just linked a combo of the average which includes employer and worker (wit, for some reason, a hyper specific 2 adults 2 children with only one adult getting an income?) chart.
And that what you provided is highlighting Austiran stats ignoring the matter entirely. While I acknowledge Belgium is listed in the graphs.
You provided nothing of worth to the conversation.
Belgium doesn't do this kind of thing. They much more often specifically avoid doing so *and halt* the EU from doing so as well.

It's not wrong, just irrelevant.
I linked the version highlighting Austria because I'm Austrian and that's what I had at hand, the statistics are the same.
It's not my job to educate you. I gave you the data, do with it what you will. If not you someone else will appreciate it.

Plenty of sources and shipping lanes are still open. It just became more expensive globally. Europe has the cash, other regions are under much more pressure.
