I suspect they are just guessing where the attacks are likely to come. I wish for the safety of every civilian in Iran - Indian or otherwise.

Indian Embassy warns it's citizens, to avoid electric infrastructure and travel by road or rail. Also to avoid top floors of a building. Incoming carpet bombings?

Top floors get bombed and will collapse down. There is really nowhere to run.

Avoid electric infrastructure? Another EMP blasts like they did in Venezuela? But who are they going to extract? Maybe they will ravage the entire power infra?

I think US or Israel is gonna bomb electric infrastructure, so Indian embassy is just asking to avoid it's proximity.

Can that also kill off electricity in hospitals? That would be a war crime

At this point it’s just the war crime equivalent of Pokemon. “Gotta catch ‘em all!”

Well, at least they are not advising to hide under a desk or inside a fridge, so it won't be *that* bad! /s

If the bomber is threatening all infrastructure and saying the civilization will die, where is actually safe in Iran?

Have most countries evacuated completely from Iran? I know some countries had planes and stuff bringing back students and expats. My father was a diplomat and they are generally the last to leave a country during a crisis. Embassies are not shut down till the worst possible moment.

Exactly, diplomatic channels need to be open even the worst of cases because otherwise how can aid or negotiations take place.

It would seem that Iranian oil is more important to India's government than the safety of its citizens and diplomatic staff in Iran... IMO the embassy should have been evacuated weeks ago when it became clear that the war wasn't going to be over in a week or two.

It would seem that you don't understand how diplomats and embassies work. Diplomats often remain in place until the very last moment. Even US diplomats were on the ground at Kabul airport until the very last moment working out safe passages and visas.

No, I think we're simply long past the point where everyone including diplomats should have been pulled out of Iran for safety reasons. Once dual use infrastructure starts getting hit, getting out will become exponentially more difficult, expensive, and dangerous.

Why does India have embassy in Iran? Indians willingly live in Iran?

FlyConfident6622 3 days ago +54
Because they have friendly -neutrsl relations? Culturally a lot of Iranian culture has seeped into india due to migration .many Iranian students are in India and there is mutual trade between both countries. Iran is also friendly to pak and act as mediator for india-pak tensions globally. While india is friendly with both Iran and Israel ... Shits complicated.

Iran also has great higher education and good universities. Contrary to what westerners might believe, Iran actually has a disproportionately well educated population with a huge number of engineers, doctors, etc and even a culture for cracking International Olympiads.  That's why alot of Indians pursue higher education in Iran. Of course, there's all the other stuff that comes with living in Iran so the Indians that do go are mostly from the Muslim community.

Modi is like nosy Auntie who attends every wedding to get tea on others 😂

Nothing in this conversation thread is related to Modi. Why try to drag him into it unnecessarily?

A lot of young Indian students (usually from Kashmir) go to study in Iran. India was helping Iran build the Chabahar port. 15-20% of Indian muslims are Shia, and consider Iran as a sort of religious figure head for Shia Islam. India also was one of the first countries to send humanitarian aid to Iran.
