I guess giving republicans control of everything was a big mistake.
Again..

Yes and also capitalism was the biggest mistake. I'm not saying both parties are the same BUT it is the same people and special interests funding both parties.

Maybe, but the republicans are clearly worse than democrats. If you can't see that you are blind. George W. Bush had two recessions(one was more like economic collapse), two needless wars in the middle east and blew up the deficit. The country still hasn't, and likely will never recover from his presidency. Then they elected Trump who is somehow worse. This presidency is on track to be up their with the most disastrous in US history.

For sure, you won't see any defense of the Republicans from me. It just seems like the Democrats do JUST enough for the working class while still functioning in the best interest of the rich/ruling class. I think both things can be true

I don't understand how people come to these mindsets. Democrats are corrupt and have tons of issues, yes. But somehow when America is being ruled by a fascist, the main statement I keep hearing are "both sides are bad".
One of those sides isn't defending murder in the streets by their task force, threatening allies, or even American companies (look at Anthropic.) This is like, the tiniest amount of example of what theyre doing out of the fascist playbook. So why is the basic corrupt Democrat party being constantly treated like this is their doing?
America had every piece of info they needed to vote against him, or to even raise hell when the anomalies on the swing states started popping up.
Dems are corrupt, for sure. But what's happening with the Republicans is open fascism. These are not the same.

Democrats aren’t a third party operating in a vacuum. They’re a big part of the reason we’re in this mess to begin with.
Hillary elevated Trump to begin with as part of her pied-piper strategy. What the Hell was Merrick Garland doing as Attorney General for 4 years? Why does Nancy Pelosi want a “strong Republican party”? Why does Chuck Schumer want war with Iran as much as Trump does? How come the Democrats didn’t have a true open Primary in 2024? How did Obama fail to capitalize on the biggest political movement of the 21st century? You could write a book about the Democratic Party’s failures and self-owns the past two decades.

I agree completely. I don't think both sides are the same, just that they are bankrolled by the same people. I see the problem not as Dem v Rep but is working class v the ruling class. It's capitalism that is the problem. Fascism is inevitable in capitalism. What is fascism but imperialism turned inward?
Capitalism requires more and more to exploit. Always more. So yeah, while I see the gestapo in the streets and terrible things our military is doing at the behest of the current Republican scumbag regime. This is the most American capitalist administration ever. Dem v rep is just a way to keep us arguing. Us workers are all on the same team.
I agree, I was coming off as saying "both sides are the same". I thought I was being a bit more nuanced but I really wasn't.

I think you might be missing their point. The Republicans aren't a consequence of crony or corrupt or unregulated capitalism. They're just capitalism. Even if a miracle happened, and the Democrats got everything they (or at least the actually progressive leaning ones) say they want, the very first thing that ideal capitalist system would do is start degrading. Then one Reagan later, one Bush later, one Trump later, we'd be right back here.
Let me put it this way, if your had a choice between having your house on fire or having your house drenched in gasoline with an orange pyromaniac outside giving it funny looks, you'd choose the second thing, because that is clearly better. But if you said both options are bad and someone angrily corrected you, you probably wouldn't be too happy to hear that either.
If you support capitalism, you're getting what you supported. And all major political bodies in the US do support capitalism, even if that support takes the form of "Don't abandon it, don't follow those guys, we promise we can fix it!" It's a ideology of power and domination, this was the only consequence it was ever going to yield.

Hey, I bought a big block of Francium with my oil money, but it's been 22 minutes and it's half as big as it was!
Also I seem to have acute radiation poisoning, but I think that's unrelat

Wait until Russia\`s plan to turn off the taps comes into operation.
The Iranians have to control the straits of hormuz to mess with the oil prices, Russia only has to turn off *Or* on a tap ..
They're gonna make a killing on the stock markets, bank that.. then decide which direction the tap goes is more profitable.
If a ship were to accidently go on fire & sink in the Suez canal i wonder would it have global consequences? ..
The Suez is just a tap by other means.

Don’t panic. Tomorrow Trump will call CNBC again and say that Iran just surrendered, gave him control of the Strait and everything is over now so oil should be c**** by lunchtime. And the markets will lap that BS up like it’s gospel from on high.

Day trading has created incredibly perverse incentives to chase superior market positions, reality be damned.
Traders should be required to hold their positions for some significant amount of time to force them to care about the medium and long term prospects of their positions.

We absolutely need to stabilize the markets somehow 100%. This shit is ridiculous. The president threatens war crimes then pulls back just to manipulate stocks and make money.

The US knows they have to draw a line under this & the genocide in Gaza.
The only realistic way they can do this to be able to hold their head high is to hand over Trump to the International Criminal Court ..
The Israeli\`s will have no problem handing over Netanyahu.
First on the list after genocide & the aiding & abetting of it, is the murder of 175 Primary School Girls on the first day of the Illegal War ..
Thats just for starters.

The key variable isn’t what’s happening today, it’s how long this lasts. Short conflicts usually don’t affect markets long-term, but sustained high oil prices can push inflation and drag everything down.
