When I was going through Chemo a little over a decade ago I watched an ungodly amount of this show. It was always on. Rest easy

I’ve been sitting in the hospital waiting for my wife to give birth watching this show all morning. I hadn’t seen it in probably 10 years but it’s been on all day.

BallinBrown23 Apr 22, 2026 +104
Best of luck to you, your wife and your future little one!

It’s so funny a show about storage container had a villain with a catchphrase. Honestly some god tier stuff can be cooked up by trash reality TV.
19
LutanHojef Apr 23, 2026 +8
It worked though, and I loved how much drama there was over lockers filled with random stuff.

Look into her v***** and say. Everything’s all worn out, nothing of value. I’ll see what’s in the next unit.
10
mynextfourty Apr 23, 2026 +2
Me and the Mrs watched the show for hours on end when our daughter was born in 2024. You have plenty more to watch. That’s worth a $7.25 bill right there, easily.
2
Mistrblank Apr 22, 2026 +91
Yeah, hope his son and family are doing well. I know the show was a farce, but I still laughed my ass off at some of the stuff. It's fake, but this was my "Wrestling" for a time. Sorry he didn't have more help.
91
DogAlternative340 Apr 22, 2026 +39
I worked the show the units are not fake or planted just the shitty dialogue Rip
39
GhenghisK Apr 22, 2026 +35
I think there's more than enough articles video and media to prove that some of the unit were indeed planted
35
Vincenza2023 Apr 22, 2026 +17
Yeah but Dave is the source. And he’s the worst.
17
Triggerunhappy Apr 22, 2026 +17
Yuuuuuuuuuuuup

starky411 Apr 22, 2026 +21
Interesting, my brother watched an Herculean amount of bar rescue and kitchen nightmares during his chemotherapy . Something about staged reality tv must be comforting during chemo
21
BallinBrown23 Apr 22, 2026 +16
Yeah I don’t know how to explain it but when I was doing chemo all I wanted to watch was storage wars and cops haha. Hope your brother is doing okay
16
Vincenza2023 Apr 22, 2026 +8
I wasn’t going through chemo, but the week I was in the hospital being diagnosed and initial treatment of MS, I watched a lot of man v food.
8
FurdTerguson__ Apr 22, 2026 +5
It was this and Impractical Jokers. Everywhere lmao.
5
ConsequenceNormal773 Apr 22, 2026 +3
Good luck to you and your family. I have had relatives suffer through Chemo and know how difficult it can be.
3
armedohiocitizen Apr 25, 2026 +2
Hope your cancer had its ass kicked!
2
lottolser Apr 22, 2026 +266
Damn, shot himself in the head. Thats incredibly sad, so sorry for his family and friends loss. Can't imagine theres an easy way to find this out.
266
MakeupMama68 Apr 23, 2026 +34
One of my best friends took his life the same way in 2012. His wife found him. Just brutal.
34
lottolser Apr 23, 2026 +27
My father in law found his father at age 9. More brutal tho, shotgun. He's still fucked up about it at age 68
27
MakeupMama68 Apr 23, 2026 +16
That shit never leaves you. I wasn’t even there with my friend but we texted the day before and he seemed fine. I went through hundreds of our texts looking for answers and all I got were even more questions. 💔. I still don’t know why and probably never will. I miss him every single day.
16
Gootangus Apr 23, 2026 +7
My brother did the same, just passed the year anniversary. In front of his wife, my sister in law
7

Tragic ending, talk to one another and be kind, mental health is not a joke.
235
Broken_By_Default Apr 22, 2026 +76
Sometimes it's not mental health, but a cost/benefit analysis. My friend's father had als. My friend watched his father's body betray him, locking a fully aware human in a body that would not move. When my friend started showing ALS symptoms, he made a hard decision. I don't blame him for it one bit.
76
IllystAnalyst Apr 22, 2026 +38
I strongly believe assisted suicide should be legal. And it is a mental health issue. For chronic patients, it’s paired as physical and mental, which is why both psychiatrists and physical health doctors sign off on it. I don’t think theres anything wrong with admitting that the emotional and mental pain that a prolonged and terminal illness has on the patient, family and friends could all be avoided.
38
Broken_By_Default Apr 22, 2026 +11
I mostly agree. But I do think a person can make a rational choice. Doesn’t necessarily imply mental health issue. But that’s just like my opinion, man.
11
IllystAnalyst Apr 23, 2026 +6
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. It’s an issue as in, it needs to be related to mental health policy. Mental health policies should include assisted suicide as an option for those with a terminal diagnosis. Your friend acted entirely rationally and I’m sorry there wasn’t more support for his decision. I hope he and his friends and family found comfort knowing he avoided so much pain.

AdorableStaff246 Apr 22, 2026 +6
It is in Canada, it’s called M.a.i.d

In Australia we have legal VAD (Voluntary Assisted Dying) in certain cases. The applicant must have an advanced, progressive, and incurable illness that causes intolerable suffering and is expected to cause death within 6–12 months.
3
chaoslorduk Apr 22, 2026 +5
Also being America a long term or Chronic Illness can be financially ruinous. We have the NHS and it's allowed me to live with my disability not brilliantly but enough I can cope day to day.
5
nthensome Apr 22, 2026 +300
F***. He shot himself? RIP, bro

modernknightly Apr 22, 2026 +89
Apparently he was a victim of cyber bullying, there are posts on Facebook calling out his cyber bully stalker.
89
can_a_mod_suck_me Apr 22, 2026 +39
Hope that’s not true…for Darrell’s sake.
39
XpertSpike Apr 23, 2026 +12
I highly doubt a 67y old dude commits suicide because of a cyber bully. Seems there is more to the story
12
Yamatoman9 Apr 23, 2026 +2
He had also had a heart attack in 2019.
2
PM_ME_UR_HIP_DIMPLES Apr 23, 2026 +8
Yet another reason to not be on TV
8
princessxunicorn Apr 23, 2026 +13
I think bullying celebrities or anyone for that matter needs to become seen as the harassment it is. Snark subs, I'm talking to you
13
sofritomcgee Apr 22, 2026 +85
Hope his son has a lot of support around him.

nascarworker Apr 22, 2026 +49
4 years ago I was celebrating my bday at a restaurant. I saw him and took a pic with him. Later on he paid for the whole table. He paid my $400 bday dinner. Nice man.
49
thekingbun Apr 22, 2026 +18
12 years back I ran into him in a California mall and he shook my hand after I told him I was a fan. His reaction also made it feel like I made his day. Good guy

Tacubo_91 Apr 22, 2026 +36
Didn't his son also appeared with him on some of the episodes?
36
BallinBrown23 Apr 22, 2026 +39
Yeah I think his son’s name was Brandon. He was a semi regular on the show
39
heyitsmemaya Apr 23, 2026 +2
Yea and his granddaughter Zoe
2
Ths-Fkin-Guy Apr 22, 2026 +24
He seemed like he had a ton of interesting stories, tid bits or comments about things. Would've absolutely been fun to just have a beer and a convo. Hate to see people go out like this
24
thekingbun Apr 22, 2026 +11
He was a nice guy too. I ran into him at a mall and he shook my hand and was genuinely happy to talk to me for a min.
11
tinosaladbar Apr 22, 2026 +94
He was known as The Gambler on Storage Wars, hope he's finding all the good loot in the next life, that's a $500 bill right there. And remember boys that it's okay to reach out to your homies or your family if you're feeling stuck in your thoughts. We've all been there. *group hug*
94
masterhogbographer Apr 22, 2026 +5
> He was known as The Gambler  Sometimes it isn’t just random mental health, sometimes there’s a catalyst.  If you or someone you know may have a gambling problem there is help out there.  F*** sports betting. F*** everyone who has let it get to where it has.  The U.S. National Problem Gambling Helpline is 1-800-522-4700 or 1-800-GAMBLER, providing 24/7, confidential, and free support via phone, text, and chat. Operated by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), it connects callers to local resources. For immediate help by state, use the NCPG's Help by State tool.
5
Some_Signal_6866 Apr 22, 2026 +22
While I agree with everything you just said I don’t believe a gambling addiction is what killed this man. He reported having an online stalker that was using his name to ruin us reputation around town. Possibly hacking into his information among other things.
22
LeoOtis5150 Apr 23, 2026 +1
It’s typically multiple issues that add up which leads to a terrible decision
1
Beautiful-Night1485 Apr 22, 2026 +40
That's a million dollar bill right there 😢 not making light of it, just quoting his non-existent dollar bill comments when he was going through containers. He was one of my favorites on the show.
40
moderatenerd Apr 22, 2026 +15
lolz. i remember him pricing old craptastic crt monitors for like $20. i'm like dude no way
15
Embarrassed-Dust718 Apr 22, 2026 +28
*used condoms on the floor* That’s a $20 bill right there
28
moderatenerd Apr 22, 2026 +3
you must be having an interesting cake day...
3
That-Makes-Sense Apr 24, 2026 +2
Didn't he also call him and his son "Team tank top"? I watch my fair share of that show. RIP.
2
Free_Hat_McCullough Apr 22, 2026 +30
I feel sorry for his son, that is a tough way to lose a parent.

Designer-String3569 Apr 22, 2026 +256
Darrell was the "heel" of storage wars. He made the show fun to watch. Rest in peace.
256
TheRealThordic Apr 22, 2026 +282
Dave was the heel. Darrel was more of a wild card.

I had forgotten about this show. That Yeeeeeeep flooded my memory and made me immediately want to punch that guy in his smug face.
18
Worldly-Bear-4318 Apr 22, 2026 +25
I saw Dave at a swapmeet once. I don't know the term for the opposite of 'starstruck' but thats how I felt seeing him
25
BigBuford1337 Apr 22, 2026 +6
The wow factor baby. RIP to one of the greatest to ever do it.
6
Ok-Street7504 Apr 22, 2026 +5
The gambler I believe.
5
Designer-String3569 Apr 22, 2026 +13
Both heels. Lol.
13
sheJaMyMorant Apr 22, 2026 +68
Idk Daryl always seemed like a nice guy just kinda wacky. Dave showed up to every auction as a menace.
68
Vincenza2023 Apr 22, 2026 +28
Darrell even helped Brandi and Jarrod in an episode, which was so sweet.
28
Intelligent_Local_38 Apr 22, 2026 +32
I seem to remember Darrel becoming more of a heel once Dave left. He kind of filled that void, I recall. The early seasons were definitely everyone vs Dave lol.
32
TasteTheBiscuit1810 Apr 22, 2026 +17
Everyone vs Dave seemed fair. Dave was a good villain you rooted against.
17
Soliloquitude Apr 22, 2026 +6
I haven't watched many episodes in a while but this and the food network are my hotel binged every time. The episodes with Dave, Darrel seems to just like messing with people but overall is a likeable dude. The ones without Dave had Darrel seem more mean spirited but I also think that was just reality TV plot. The newer-ish ones I saw, he just seemed like a grumpy old man. Not dislikeable just grumpy. Rest in Peace dude, you helped me through my pregnancy with sanity and develop a lifelong love for flea markets.
6
Veggieleezy Apr 22, 2026 +10
If Dave was Ted DiBiase, Darrell was Christian Cage.
10

5
HiMyNameIsMikeLopez Apr 22, 2026 +2
The WOW factor!
2
Penguinkeith Apr 22, 2026 +17
He and Barry were my favorites all day
17
Embarrassed-Dust718 Apr 22, 2026 +10
Dave was the heel, Barry was the comedic relief , Darrel was the expert, and brandy and Jared were the amateurs
10
Doomedused85 Apr 22, 2026 +2
Someone never watched this show and it’s obvious.
2
LittleJoLion Apr 22, 2026 +21
Damn. Storage Wars *stayed* *on* in my dads house every other weekend/:
21
cheesybiscuits912 Apr 22, 2026 +5
Hell my husband found a channel on free Samsung TV thing that plays it alot.... he was just watching it the other day. Seemed so happy and upbeat. You never know what someone is going thru. RIP
5
daveinmd13 Apr 22, 2026 +18
Was he the one who would find a box of random unlabeled mix tapes and say “That’s a 10 dollar bill!”?
18
Accomplished_Mud6692 Apr 23, 2026 +3
Yepppp. In Darrell fashion. I adored him and his son. Hope the son has a lot of support currently.

I watch the show every single time after school. He was one of my favorites.
8
JonnyDIY Apr 23, 2026 +8
That's a $40 dollar bill all day right there Brandon! 🤣 f*** man I used to do an impression of him sayin that all the time, used to make my brother laugh. Loved him. RIP. Condolences to the family
8
varietyman13 Apr 22, 2026 +6
Man that stinks
6
Solonohioperson Apr 22, 2026 +7
That's sad. I hope his son has support and gets help if he needs it. my husband and I used to watch this show when we first got married; it was always on! Darrel never seemed excessively mean and seemed to have a good relationship with his son.
7
_Marvillain Apr 22, 2026 +25
Like half of these comments being people making jokes is disappointing, but not surprising.
25
bobsaget824 Apr 22, 2026 +12
I just don’t understand the mentality of - someone died of a self inflicted gunshot to the head, “what’s the funniest joke I can write real quick to get the most Listnook karma.”
12
DudeFilA Apr 22, 2026 +5
Some of us are nihilistic people who cope with tragedy and loss with darkly humorous thoughts that revolve around the hopelessness of life and how miniscule we really are in the scope of the universe. The real problem is that we then transfer that though to the internet instead of keeping it as an inside thought.
5
1d0m1n4t3 Apr 22, 2026 +3
As someone with a dark sense of humor but is overly self aware, this is 100% accurate.
3
Appropriate-Today779 Apr 23, 2026 +2
That’s Listnook for ya. If they’re not celebrating someone’s death they are making fun of it
2
Nasty_Goblin Apr 22, 2026 +27
The “YUUUP” guy did this.
27
hardyflashier Apr 22, 2026 +5
That's sad... this is NOT the wow factor.
5
GoldStorm77 Apr 23, 2026 +5
Remember my senior year my entire friend group would get high and watch storage wars all the time. It was so entrancing.
5
Southern_College_360 Apr 23, 2026 +5
I just read his last couple posts on Facebook. He said if anything happens to him to look for a certain couple (that he named) who have been harrassing him. Police are looking into it. He said they have been extorting money from businesses while they were impersonating him and threatening people.
5
bleezy_47 Apr 23, 2026 +5
2001 kid here, spent my childhood watching storage wars. This sucks- RIP Darrell. Hope his son is ok

Was a big fan of this show when it was on. A&E shows were addicting. Miss the 2000s and early 2010s shows
4
spiderland5150 Apr 22, 2026 +4
That sucks, I like that show, even if it was kinda staged and corny, he was a good guy/character. RIP

Sad. RIP. Sorry, Brando. 💕

fh_ko-amcgyal-cgah_x Apr 23, 2026 +5
Met this guy in Hawaii on a family vacation, I was in early Highschool. My brother is four years younger than me and recognized him from the jump. He wanted us to go over and just say “hey, we love the show and you’re the best”. When we went over he said “what show, judge Judy?” And immediately agreed to take pictures with us after talking to my parents for a good bit. Stand up guy and absolutely devastated to hear the circumstances. Check in on your loved ones, tell your people you love them. RIP King.
5
furama Apr 23, 2026 +5
"Reality" TV seems to have a high mortality rate. And frequent arrests. What a rotten culture we've created
5
Sugar_Party_Bomb Apr 23, 2026 +4
Brandi was the best thing about that show
4
Weak-Indication5552 Apr 23, 2026 +5
Second guy off this show to kill himself.
5
Embarrassed-Dust718 Apr 22, 2026 +6
Man I love that show when it use to run on a&e on a daily 24 hr basis. But god these guys were just lying to the camera whenever they found something. They’ll find a 20 year old big b**** tv and they’ll say that’s a $500 right there
6
Country_guy27 Apr 22, 2026 +7
That’s a $52.00 bill everyday of the week Brando!

❤️ I feel this.
2
urneverwhereueverwer Apr 22, 2026 +3
I met him briefly way back in the day in a strange encounter. It must have been around 2010 or early 2011. My wife and I were at a big outdoor swap meet in Orange County California. My son was a few months old and we were pushing him in the stroller. My wife felt something behind her ear and brushed it away. She felt it again and we both look to see Darrell walking behind us using some kind of feather attached to a stick to tickle my wife behind her ear. It looked like a cat toy or something. We both were like “What the heck?!” and then “Wait, aren’t you that guy from storage wars?!” He just laughed and sort of acted like it was no big deal. He was with a girl who looked a little embarrassed. We honestly thought it was quite strange so we just walked a little ahead and away from him. We found a spot to stop and talk about it and we both had the same reaction of “Did that just really happen?” I guess he thought he was as much of a celebrity that he could do something like that and people would just think it was funny? So strange. I’m sorry for his family and they will be in my prayers while they go through this.
3
Difficult_Cause_8453 Apr 22, 2026 +3
I ran into him a few times in HB at the local Ralphs. He would say hi to his fans and seemed very friendly . RIP
3
HeedWeed Apr 23, 2026 +3
Suicide at 67 is so incredibly tragic. You make it that far, but find you can’t go on any longer... It’s extremely shocking; reading about someone at that age taking their life. I hope he rests easy. Loved watching him as “The Gambler” when I was a kid. This show was awesome.
3
AcanthisittaItchy614 Apr 23, 2026 +2
I mean, the farther you make it, the tougher it gets.
2
ScampTheWolf Apr 23, 2026 +3
I met Darrell in 2012 at Jarrod and Brandi's thrift store when they were holding an event there. This is sad news for sure.
3
themsel6 Apr 23, 2026 +3
One of my favorite shows of all time. This is so sad. Caught me completely off guard. They're saying "cyberbullying" might be responsible as to why he offed himself. That's crazy. He never struck me as someone who would get super offended by something like that so someone really must have been f****** with his head. RIP Darrel Sheets. You will be missed by me and thousands of others... 😟❤️.
3
Yuri_Ligotme Apr 23, 2026 +3

Sad. Suicide sucks for the family and friends who loved him.

SpacemanSpiff3 Apr 23, 2026 +3
We need to stop these wars. We’ve lost too many good people.

RIP he was always so much fun to watch. Check up on your people and be kind to others.

teamjetfire Apr 22, 2026 +2
The show was popular because of personalities like Darrell. I can’t say that I still watched, but he certainly had an impact. Mental health is no joke.

yolo_speedwagon Apr 22, 2026 +2
Breaks my heart every time one of my fellow man loses the fight.

My dumb ass read this as "star wars" star and thought he looks a lot like the guy from storage wars Rip

AdditionalPen5636 Apr 22, 2026 +2
Terrible! I'm so sorry for his son Brandon and family. My dad left this world the same way last month. It's very painful for the loved ones left behind. May he RIP

TorrenceMightingale Apr 22, 2026 +2
F***! This one HURTS.
2
OShaunesssy Apr 22, 2026 +2
Is he the one who always had his adult son tagging along with him?
2
10202632 Apr 22, 2026 +2
Very sad. He was always my favorite.
2
Soaring_Gull_655 Apr 22, 2026 +2
I'm sad to hear this. RIP Darrell.

phoenix0r Apr 22, 2026 +2
He had just found out and disclosed that he was suffering from some pretty major health issues. Not excusing it, but I know several blue collar men of a certain age that would do the same thing, unfortunately. You live a certain way and then eventually don’t want to deal with the effects of that lifestyle, as they would tend to be drawn out, painful and costly. Poor guy and sucks for his family.
2
c0mpg33k Apr 22, 2026 +2
He must have been battling some demons that nobody knew about. May he rest in peace. One of my favorites on the show along with Barry.
2
feellikebeingajerk Apr 23, 2026 +2
Another thread people said he was being cyberbullied pretty badly.
2
jennc1979 Apr 22, 2026 +2
Ahh, I was hoping for natural cases like one will also often find with folks in their mid-late 60s. Bleak on a daily basis at this rate. Rest in Peace.
2
thekingbun Apr 22, 2026 +2
Wow that’s sad. I actually met him 12 years ago at a mall in California. I told him I was a fan and he expressed thanks and shook my hand. Nice guy.
2
WorldlyFollowing2423 Apr 22, 2026 +2
wow. I used to watch that show and it's spin offs.
2
SpunNumeroUno Apr 22, 2026 +2
San Diego dude. Go well my brother.
2
TrueCrimeInTheBuff Apr 23, 2026 +2
Rest in peace, sadly a lot of the people who were on the show have had it rough.
2
cold_iceberg_007 Apr 23, 2026 +2
This really is disturbing to hear the news of his passing. I crossed paths with him recently in a local restaurant in Orange County, CA. He was genuinely kind. I wish his family peace and healing during this difficult time.

Bamboopanda101 Apr 23, 2026 +2
Storage wars was literally my childhood. Rest in peace Darrell the gambler
2
No_Future_9162 Apr 23, 2026 +2
Damn he shot himself in th head?? Didn't he find like a million bucks worth of art in one of those episodes? I wonder what happened, the article doesn't really touch on it.
2
theredwinesnob Apr 23, 2026 +2
That show was one of a kind. My son who was 10 at the time always watched together. It was our thing. For Christmas one year 2011’sh, I bought him the board game. We had alot of fun with that too.
2
Echobomb23 Apr 23, 2026 +2
I loved it when he had his hairy shoulders out. Thanks bro.
2
MentalDisintegrat1on Apr 22, 2026 +9
Dang he seemed so healthy.
9
DrunkenTrom Apr 22, 2026 +53
It doesn't really matter how healthy (or not) someone is when the cause of death is a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

omnipotentqueue Apr 22, 2026 +14
I think they were being sarcastic
14
Avgsizedweiner Apr 22, 2026 +28
It’s not really a thing to joke about, he really shot himself in the head.
28
Mixture-Emotional Apr 22, 2026 +3
Damn, that's terrible. I hope his family is ok, I believe he at least had a son who showed on camera iiirc
3
iciclemomore Apr 22, 2026 +5
I’m guessing op was sarcastic. Dude was not the picture of health.
5
That-Addendum-9064 Apr 22, 2026 +10
showed up to those storage auctions red as a cooked lobster most of the time

Loud-Pop5561 Apr 22, 2026 +2
I hear that’s even more unhealthy for you than smoking
2
soldsoultosw Apr 22, 2026 +5
He’s the second cast member to commit self termination. Mark Balelo did in 2013. He was only on the show for a short period.
5
Louieman44 Apr 22, 2026 +15
Suicide is still a word in the dictionary
15
DebatableTheory Apr 22, 2026 +3
just like "unhoused" instead of homeless. if you change the word, it sounds and makes everyone feel better!
3
TsunGeneralGrievous Apr 22, 2026 +3
When i heard Mark died i was shocked back then. He had a unique presence in the show. It’s sad to hear about Darrell now after not watching for years
3
WrathOfMogg Apr 22, 2026 +7
All those wars, but the real storage was inside him all along.
7
Penguinkeith Apr 22, 2026 +4
I f****** hate myself for laughing at this
4
KenDanTony Apr 22, 2026 +4
Do not read the article! I didn’t know how he died; now I’m saddened.
4
jewels385 Apr 23, 2026 +2
Who was cyberbullying him? They should go to prison.
2
itsmereddogmom Apr 22, 2026 +2
I wonder why he would shoot himself? He was wealthy, had a new wife, recovered from his heart attack years ago. What brought him down so far to do this? Very sad.
2
Necromancer_Yoda Apr 22, 2026 +2
Depression can be a silent killer.
2
4AngelD4 Apr 22, 2026 +2
He's had alot of health issues since the heart attack
