Trump: No one gets a cut till I get my cut.
665
WeirdSysAdmin May 2, 2026 +259
This is the whole reason they will never agree to the terms to end the war. Iran wants war reparations for infrastructure attacks. They came up with tolls as an alternative solution. But Trump wants a cut of it.
259
zzazzzz May 3, 2026 +43
the crazy part is that these tolls are already an insanely good deal for the US. it is effectively the whole world picking up the US's tab.
43
LawClaw2020 May 2, 2026 +27
They should just give Trump a cut and renege as soon as he’s not president anymore.
27
ComradeJohnS May 2, 2026 +11
just say they sent the money, and maybe his lackeys stole it.
11
TwoPoundzaSausage May 3, 2026 +2
"I don't know what to say, bud. We absolutely remember sending out checks to you."

“If I’m not winning then everyone loses.” “Now, I won. All the haters going to pay.”

JConRed May 2, 2026 +50
God could the US just f the f off please
50
ProfDet529 May 3, 2026 +2
He puts a gun to your head and demands all of your money. If you refuse? He shoots you dead. If you agree? He shoots you dead.
2
Skinnieguy May 3, 2026 +3
He only really beats up on the weak - Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba. He threatens, yells, or suggests like Canada, Greenland, and others but they are all really empty threats of force. All he does is tariffs countries that doesn’t really support his cause.
3
Ritaredditonce May 2, 2026 +11
"If I can't have you, nobody can".
11
kstargate-425 May 2, 2026 +8
Hence all the dead young girls 🤬

LevelPerception4 May 2, 2026 +15
I think those were his actual last words to Spirit Airlines’ leadership.
15
Malaix May 2, 2026 +8
I actually thing that was why Noam got fired. She didn't cut him in on her ad scheme.
8
Taokan May 3, 2026 +4
Absolutely. Trump wants to run the government, and the world, like a Mafia boss. Everyone pays him a cut, everyone shows him "respect". Noam violated both. She ran a side hustle under his nose, and did a self aggrandizing ad that made it look like she was the hero stopping all the bad awful ugly immigrants, not Trump. This is the dictator's challenge - you have to have middle management, generals, department heads, whatever - and they have to be slightly competent to do the job, but not so competent that they start to get ideas of acting independently. And the worse your approval rating, the more you start to see monsters under the bed. His regime's predictably unraveling. The real question is, will Vance or another pretender continue down his path, or will we start to see the pendulum swing back towards democracy?
4
grackychan May 2, 2026 +6
I mean technically isn't it unlawful for any company that uses the US financial system to make or receive payments to/from Iran? I thought FINCEN's job is to prevent firms from bypassing US sanctions.
6
caribou16 May 2, 2026 +7
You also have to watch out, it's illegal in a lot of states to do business with a country/entity that boycotts Israel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-BDS_laws
7
WoolooOfWallStreet May 2, 2026 +2
Yeah pretty much There’s a ton of End User License Agreements that say not to use their product in Iran and some other sanctioned countries
2
SayNoToFirefighters May 2, 2026 +6
lol how are you posting your nuudes on the same acct
6
fuzzygoosejuice May 2, 2026 +11
When you got busy hands sometimes you don’t have time to make a throwaway account.
11
viktor72 May 2, 2026 +265
This will surely bring down the cost of gas.
265
smailskid May 2, 2026 +79
Like that give a shit. They clearly don’t.
79
progrethth May 2, 2026 +21
If they do not get the gas prices down the Republicans are almost certain to lose the midterms. So maybe they should care, but apparently they do not.
21
smailskid May 2, 2026 +41
They’ll cheat.
41
Fanfics May 2, 2026 +15
Those who make peaceful reform impossible make something something something
15
nova2k May 2, 2026 +12
They're cracking down on that too. Multi pronged offensive.
12
Small-Palpitation310 May 2, 2026 +2
Maybe. Don’t take anything for granted anymore. I think it’s time we learn this
2
b1argg May 2, 2026 +3
Swing district/purple State Republicans definitely do because it affects their election prospects.
3
SpaceChicken2025 May 2, 2026 +2
It jumped a quarter here in three days, at Costco!
2
owl440 May 3, 2026 +2
We don't need to bring down the cost of gas. We need more tax breaks for billionaires and billions in military aid to Israel.
2
jqman69 May 2, 2026 +1467
This is gonna accelerate the adoption of the petro yuan
1467
too_old_to_be_clever May 2, 2026 +459
I would rather accelerate renewables for energy but sadly it probably won't
459
Miner_239 May 2, 2026 +389
don't worry, the Chinese is on top of that too
389
owl440 May 2, 2026 +212
When you look up the global leader in renewable energy, China is outpacing the entire planet, meanwhile the US is stuck on coal and oil.
212
HereForTheComments57 May 2, 2026 +166
And paying billions to stop people from building wind mills.
166
sometimesmybutthurts May 2, 2026 +68
Taco and his team are so ass backwards it’s embarrassing. Moronic doesn’t even start to describe it.
68
Hopeful_Chair_7129 May 2, 2026 +37
China is outpacing the entire planet on like almost everything
37
owl440 May 2, 2026 +33
It really is insane how much they've been able to accomplish in about 30-40 years. Meanwhile in the US we're giving billionaires tax breaks, spending trillions on useless wars, and cutting funding from anything that benefits the masses.
33
ptrnyc May 3, 2026 +4
Not advocating for dictatorship, far from it… but it’s easier for them because their leadership can actually focus on implementing long-term strategies, rather than winning mid-terms, then re-election, or undoing the previous administration’s work.
4
The_Dog_of_Binance May 2, 2026 +5
You should watch The China Show on youtube
5
Hopeful_Chair_7129 May 2, 2026 +2
No I probably won’t but I’m sure it’s good
2
WoolooOfWallStreet May 2, 2026 +43
I mean, when 1000 watts/square meter fall on you every day from the sky, it makes sense to take advantage of it
43
NorthernerWuwu May 2, 2026 +66
By planting corn, then inefficiently turning it into ethanol and then burning that mixed with gasoline right? Makes total sense!
66
Surrounded-by_Idiots May 3, 2026 +3
We’re not stuck, we’re actively crawling in deeper.

China leading the way while the us magas about
9
Witne55 May 3, 2026 +2
because the people running the centralized govt controlled economy in China is not taking bribes from the America Oil Companies
2
No_Gur1113 May 4, 2026 +3
At this point I’m not even sure they have to bribe this administration. They’re all so invested out the ass in each other’s c*** that their holdings alone dictate how they behave. As long as the DOW is at 50,000, everything else should be ignored.
3
cactus22minus1 May 2, 2026 +83
Not in the US where the same a****** is trying to drag us the other direction. EPA and environmental science (science in general actually) are being completely defunded. It won’t be homegrown.
83
Rob1965 May 2, 2026 +58
Yep, the US is quickly falling behind almost every major country on green energy.
58
a_silly_witch May 2, 2026 +28
You could honestly just leave out the "on green energy".
28
Flimsy-Eye-4406 May 2, 2026 +9
Idk - unless we were talking about incarceration or school shootings, we are already trailing most major countries in a lot of things. The falling already happened.
9
Asleep_Document9811 May 2, 2026 +6
Blood for the gun god! Blood for the gun god!
6
GrippingHand May 2, 2026 +18
Also killing wind projects.
18
jqman69 May 2, 2026 +21
Literally giving our tax dollars to companies to break their contracts for offshore wind farms.
21
msr42day May 2, 2026 +4
If we could eject pres47 and admin47, probably most voters would hit the eject button.
4
CaptPants May 2, 2026 +15
I think it will (accelerate renewables) other countries arent gonna want their economies to get fucked over so easily by the whims of whatever jackasses the US decided to elect president in the future. Having their energy supply depend on the stability of a narrow straight wont be the way anymore.
15
KibblesNBitxhes May 2, 2026 +20
It already has, major economies are investing in renewables instead of investing in oil infrastructure. Phasing out oil has been a secondary priority however in light of the global energy crisis, investing in renewable mitigate the effect of oil energy reliance, reducing demand and subsequently supply needs.
20
OzymandiasKoK May 2, 2026 +7
Not in the US. They immediately started defunding renewables when Trump came back to office. The National Renewable Energy Lab is now just National Lab of the Rockies and they've been directed to figure out data centers. It's all such a spastic mess.
7
HumansNeedNotApply1 May 2, 2026 +5
Not only oil goes through there.
5
Teantis May 2, 2026 +3
It is. But it's not like that's going to happen overnight. It takes time to put project financing, acquire land, do the project planning etc. in most countries. Plus most countries still need their shit shipped from china to build it in the first place, using oil.
3
dgellow May 2, 2026 +5
Unfortunately we do use oil for a lot of other things than energy production
5
WaffleHouseGladiator May 2, 2026 +2
The dino juice must flow!

This administration is paying billions of taxpayers money to prevent rentable from being developed domestically.
2
SayNoToFirefighters May 2, 2026 +25
truly unfortunate for his voterbase.. they dont know how hard they will truly f*** their lives up. by the time the effects of such a switch happen, Trump would be out of office so they will target their illiterate anger onto the Democrat sitting in office.
25
SaxifrageRussel May 4, 2026 +3
There will never be a another dem president. I’m about 50/50 if there will be another president at all
3
TheGreatGamer1389 May 2, 2026 +39
Not sure about Yuan. But definitely the USD is going into the toilet.
39
dgellow May 2, 2026 +47
Which, btw, was a very explicit thing the orange a****** campaigned on. He has been complaining about a strong dollar since at least the 90s, you can find old interviews from him mentioning that. For the stupides reasons. And people still voted for him
47
beretta_vexee May 3, 2026 +2
I don’t think he has any idea of the consequences of the end of this ["Exorbitant privilege"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exorbitant\_privilege) The day the US has to pay off its debt at the true market price, the economy will collapse.
2
Sweatytubesock May 2, 2026 +14
That result was probably inevitable as a consequence of putting a complete moron back in office and him taking complete power.
14
manical1 May 2, 2026 +7
accelerate the end of the trump administration. can't wait for the theatrical release / musical about the most corrupt and inept president that is a pedophile in 100 years.
7
badpersian May 3, 2026 +3
Good! The US being the world currency has given them too much power.
3
Relevant-Doctor187 May 2, 2026 +6
Yeah I guess it’s time to start teaching our kids Chinese so they have a future.
6
Lonely_Noyaaa May 2, 2026 +139
> Iran is charging tolls and the US is threatening sanctions on anyone who pays. This admin created a war, lost momentum, and is now just blocking ports while global shipping grinds to a halt and now it's just a strategy designed to look tough while civilian goods pile up at sea.
139
Emperor_Zar May 2, 2026 +48
Well they seem to be failing at that strategy too. They’ve (Trump Admin) lost the narrative, they’ve lost the support and they’ve lost a stupid war to try to distract from the non distractible and have shown the entirety of the global elite are the Epstein class, from Hollywood (Weinstein) to the Music industry (Diddystein) and way up to corporate CEO’s, Supreme Court judges and…. They own the RNC AND DNC! So much “winning” eh? The US is over.
48
GrippingHand May 2, 2026 +14
The democrats have tried to remove him term 1 and rein him in term 2. They are not perfect but equating the two is incorrect. Edit: fixed rein vs reign
14
fevered_visions May 2, 2026 +14
>reign him in reign = what a king does rein(s) = things for controlling a horse
14
GrippingHand May 2, 2026 +5
Oh ffs. Can't believe I did that. Thank you for the correction.
5
TheDarkWave May 2, 2026 +2
Those dipshits that abstained voting "reigned" him in.
2
HeadPristine1404 May 2, 2026 +350
They're all about the stick, not the carrot. Straight out of the playground bully's playbook "Do as I say or else!". What a bunchh of losers.
350
007meow May 2, 2026 +100
The concept of empathy or cooperation is seen as weakness by them. All they see is their terribly flawed interpretation of “strength” Soft power is incomprehensible
100
Cormacolinde May 2, 2026 +44
To Trump, everything is a zero-sum game. In his eyes, any deal he makes where the other side profits is a deal where he got swindled. He thinks he should be the only one to profit from a deal, that’s what his “art of the deal” is about: taking everything, leaving nothing for the other side. He literally doesn’t think a deal could have two winners.
44
msr42day May 2, 2026 +7
Unless, he has arranged to take a cut of their "win". That's an old Mafia practice and I'm sure pres47 also.uses it.
7
blazelet May 2, 2026 +11
That strategy works, technically, when you’re screwing over painting contractors - because there are others you can use and screw over next time. On the national stage you have finite allies and neighbors, and screwing them over has lasting consequences.
11
omahaomw May 2, 2026 +11
Very Putinesque

10
kombiwombi May 2, 2026 +163
So basically if you want oil, you'll need to do the entire set of transactions in Yuan between Chinese banks.  Or as the Chinese internet says: Trump, the Nation Builder.
163
Rob1965 May 2, 2026 +7
Are you sure that’s not: “Trump, the Nation Burner”?
7
kombiwombi May 2, 2026 +31
It's a Chinese joke. The play on words suggesting that Trump is a hero building China. But also it sounds like a name from the revolutionary period. Edit: Here's a good breakdown of the joke https://www.joelwong.net/2025/05/25/decoding-trumps-chinese-nickname-%E5%B7%9D%E5%BB%BA%E5%9B%BD/
31
THE__REALEST May 2, 2026 +41
he is a nation builder which nation? not the us
41
dreadpiratewombat May 3, 2026 +1
Oh he’s building nations, just not his own.
1
bacon-squared May 2, 2026 +53
So don’t sell to the USA if there are sanctions on them. All this does is further isolate the USA, what a dumbass.
53

It’s what Putin would want.
29
herminette5 May 2, 2026 +64
We are the world’s bully
64
Formal-Try-2779 May 2, 2026 +21
To be fair that didn't start with the Mango Mussolini. You've been bullying the world since the end of the second world war.
21
Motor-Pomegranate831 May 4, 2026 +2
Much longer than that. "Banana Republic" was coined by O. Henry in 1904 to describe the actions of the US.
2

Roman Empire, to debate some basic culture is needed
1
dgellow May 2, 2026 -1
But at least there was a meaningful narrative and project behind it. Now it is pure mango narcissism and dementia
-1
Aelig_ May 2, 2026 +16
What was the meaningful narrative in Vietnam? Some poor country on the other side of the world didn't like capitalism? Or the weapons of mass destruction that never existed? Or the cold war bullshit which could have ended decades earlier if the US actually tried to talk with the USSR. Or the countless coups in South America for god knows what reason. Or the imperialist proxy wars through Israel?
16

Finally someone brings receipts!
4

I hope so. Neoliberal capitalism is a parasite.

Sometimes we learn watching US teenager movies. Grateful someone of you started realising this suicidal beast
8
ButterscotchLow8950 May 2, 2026 +16
So real question here. If what Iran is doing is considered an act of economic terrorism. Then how come the US actions here aren’t simply more of the same? Isn’t this simply tit for tat economic terrorism?
16
Count_Backwards May 2, 2026 +15
Trump is absolutely an economic terrorist He's also a thief, an insurrection it, a traitor, a rapist and a pedophile
15
cricri3007 May 2, 2026 +6
The US consider themselves above intrnational laws (see the Hague Invasion Act)
6
Prudent_Shake_8149 May 2, 2026 +81
It would be so great if we could just get Iran to agree to a nuclear arms control agreement. Like the agreement we had a few years back. The agreement with onsite inspections and monitoring. The agreement that Trump tore up.
81
-Luke-Man- May 2, 2026 +49
Dude Iran was moving toward agreeing to very similar concessions before we kicked off this whole clusterfuck by assassinating their leadership *during* negotiations.  Whatever makes Israel and the MIC happy I guess 👍
49
Orsim27 May 2, 2026 +20
I think not starting a war with them and threatening genocide would’ve helped diplomacy a lot
20
jcooli09 May 2, 2026 +12
They would be very foolish to enter into any agreements with trump, as the entire world has come to realize. That is, agreements the mean to keep. There's little reason not to enter into agreements feeling the same obligation to meet them that trump does.
12
Luster-Purge May 2, 2026 +15
And then failed to get Iran to agree to the exact same deal.
15
Prudent_Shake_8149 May 2, 2026 +27
To be fair, negotiations will be difficult now that we’ve lost all credibility and support from the international community. Reneging on a functioning nuclear arms agreement in Trump’s first term also empowered hardliners and justified development of a nuclear weapon as the only path to preserve Iranian sovereignty.
27
LDSBS May 2, 2026 +22
Why make any deal with Trump who will disregard it as soon as it inconveniences him? It’s Lucy and the football over and over again.
22
Luster-Purge May 2, 2026 +10
Honestly the only way things are going to improve at this point is when Trump is no longer in power. And naturally the powers that be are trying to make sure that only happens on *their* terms, as I don't think Trump is going to last his full second term. He's gone downhill so fast in just the past five months.
10
Khatib May 2, 2026 +6
> Reneging on a functioning nuclear arms agreement in Trump’s first term also empowered hardliners and justified development of a nuclear weapon as the only path to preserve Iranian sovereignty. Which they *still* weren't doing according to a consensus opinion from the US intelligence community as stated by Tulsi Gabbard to Congress last year. This was all made up to make rich people richer and distract from the Epstein files.
6
prof_the_doom May 2, 2026 +5
Why would they? They clearly can’t trust us to keep our side of the bargain.

This is pure insanity. There are calmer minds that are preventing him from using our nukes, but not stepping in when he does this? I guess the western world is ‘the mark’ and there’s just too much profit for the 1% to ignore.
17
Pottopher May 2, 2026 +24
Trump has proven time and time again that his words mean nothing. Why would anyone care anymore?
24

That flat out exacerbates the entire issue.

[https://www.marinevesseltraffic.com/HORMUZ-STRAIT/ship-traffic-tracker](https://www.marinevesseltraffic.com/HORMUZ-STRAIT/ship-traffic-tracker) This is fun. Last night I found an Indian-flagged ship departing the Gulf and watched it to see if it would cross. Started off at 6 knots and this morning it was through and now making 12 knots. Guess they paid.

I would love to think that's tdue, but I don't.
2
pulsarstarter May 2, 2026 +12
To think, the strait was open before this illegal war that was launched by the US and Israel. None of this needed to happen. It's a mess created by the belligerents.
12
Maverick_1882 May 2, 2026 +3
💯 agree. This is all on Benny and Don. Too bad the rest of us have to pay the bill. At this point, world sympathy should begin to lean toward Iran, which was unheard of after the October 7 shit.
3
pulsarstarter May 2, 2026 +4
Israel and the US have killed about 4,000 civilians in Iran and Lebanon. What's that, more than three times as many as Oct 7? Of course Oct 7 was sickening, but all civilian lives matter, not only the victims of that attack.
4
Maverick_1882 May 3, 2026 +3
I completely agree. The response to Oct 7 was overwhelmingly disproportionate, in my opinion. Some would argue rightly so and others would have urged restraint. I’m not wise enough to pass judgment on anyone’s actions. I can only imagine what I would have done and because of that I can’t cast any stones. That being said, if I put myself in the shoes of a Palestinian who is treated like a second class \*person\* every day, who knows that I wouldn’t take up arms against my oppressor?
3
ElSahuno May 2, 2026 +7
You can't block the straight cause I just blocked the straight You can't charge tolls cause I'll charge bigger tolls You can't propose a deal cause im proposing a bigger deal. Children seem to be in charge.
7
Blubbolo May 2, 2026 +7
Let him throw the next tantrum and get over with, the moment the world stop using the dollar to do these transactions the better it will be for everyone, no more bullshit threats of sanctions and tariffs. He also can't place any tariffs on nations, as the supreme court said. He already placed his bullshit 15% on everyone and it will have to go through congressional approval to renew those too.

The man himself has no end game, but the people whispering and coddling him certainly do. He's easy to manipulate and I think someone said he has ADHD which explains the lack of focus and wanting to attack everybody (Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Greenland, cuba, Greenland, immigrants, blah blah)

What he doesn't seem to get is that threatening sanctions or tariffs or whatever doesn't work as a threat when you just randomly tariff and sanction countries all the time anyhow. Countries have paid the bribes in the past and *still* got fucked, they aren't going to react to new threats the same way. He should have likely noticed that when no one volunteered to come help bail him out of his war. If you piss everyone off, they aren't coming to your birthday party anymore.

Got it, so instead of cash tolls, it’ll be like France and South Korea. When their CMA ship passed, supposedly they didn’t pay a toll. The next day, France vetoed a UN security resolution against Iran. The day after a partially South Korean owned ship passed, the South Korean president began a PR campaign highlighting civilian casualties at the hands of Israel in Lebanon. So now, instead of just paying the IRGC a cash toll, the world will suddenly start looking extremely kind towards Iran for some reason. If there was ever any hope the US would gain some allies to attack Iran or worsen their situation, it’s gone now. That’ll probably be the condition required to get through the strait and prevent your economy from collapsing. The US offers nothing but their own inflated oil. I’ll be honest, as fucked up as this demonically evil regime in Iran is, murdering thousands, possibly tens of thousands, during the Mossad and US Treasury induced protests, theyve proven exceptionally smart and wiley. Like, honestly smarter than Russia or China have been in combating America. Their PR game is the best I’ve seen in an adversary. I think theyll find a way to continue to profit from the Strait.

This is great. It will keep gasoline prices high and hasten the adoption of EVs or even create an incentive for better public transportation systems. To bad about cryogenic gas and fertilizer, though.

Please ELI5 me- who exactly are the people in the US who put out the threat about the sanctions? Who is actually meeting with each other and coming up with it? WHO do they notify so everyone gets the threat/word? Also, Who in the US actually came up with the idea to block the straight and then how does it come to pass so quickly? Who’s doing all this?! (Serious)

MsMarisol2023 May 2, 2026 +2
The US has no right to do that. This administration is a bunch of rich white male war criminals profiting off the rest of the world’s misery.

The only thing the Treasury is doing is enticing governments to set up an alternative payments system that bypasses SWIFT. Once they switch they will never go back. First Trump shows the Iranians why they need a nuke and now this. Talk about “The Wrong Stuff”.
2
Agreeable-Onion-5445 May 3, 2026 +2
What happens when the US is so ignored by the world that threatening sanctions no longer works? Will that be the nuke the world party? Whereafter someone explains nuclear fallout to trump and he $hits himself (into his diapers obviously. If there's anything left).

newzinoapp May 3, 2026 +2
Iran is charging over $1 million per ship to transit. Some companies are paying because the alternative is routing around the Cape of Good Hope, which adds 10-15 days and roughly $400,000 in extra fuel costs per voyage. So the choice is paying Iran or losing two weeks of schedule. The US countered with its own naval blockade on April 13, stopping Iranian tankers from exporting. Now you have a dual blockade. Iran controls inbound traffic through tolls, the US Navy blocks outbound Iranian oil. About 20 million barrels a day normally move through Hormuz. That is a fifth of global oil consumption sitting in a chokepoint between two countries at war since February.

*Iran has called the US interception of ships entering and leaving Iranian ports under the blockade "piracy".* Trump himself compared it to piracy… so what would you expect?
