Stumble. Please watch it.

Posted by profist

This show is like if a bunch of the good parts of Parks and Rec, The Office, that Cheer documentary series on Netflix from a while back (without the uh...super shitty extra stuff), and Naked Gun all had a baby. The episodes are quick, light-hearted, emotional, hopeful, and can stand on their own as somewhat absurd comedy but also feel so good when you know the full arcs. Can't recommend it enough. I don't post hardly at all but this show appears to be on the bubble for renewal but is flying under the radar and I desperately want to see more of it.

The previews and commercials did this show no justice. It’s smart and hilarious.

Agreed. The promotion convinced me it wasn't for me, until I watched the first few minutes.

Tired of previews that completely misrepresent the show/movie. Need to stop letting the advertising people make them

It's on Peacock, for those who need the info.

CriticalEngineering 11 hr ago +4
Hulu has it, too.

Hulu tells me my subscription doesn’t cover it

CriticalEngineering 10 hr ago +1
Ah. I watched it there last week. Probably a different tier. I don’t have Peacock.

>It's on Peacock Well damn that's gonna be a no from me unfortunately

NBC really acted like they did not want this show to get renewed, I don't understand it. They have a gem on their hands.

profist 11 hr ago +6
Agreed! I have to give credit to another post here recently that praised this show (and Reggie Dinkins, which I have yet to watch) to even know it existed.

I don't agree with that.  They put it behind Happy's Place which may not be a very different comedy but it earned some of NBC's highest ratings for a comedy. Then they reaired Stumble after St. Denis Medical for quite a few weeks to see if a better comedy match would help it.

Guess I've *stumbled* onto the next show I'm gonna watch. Thanks!

same here lol

Agreed. Great show. But it follows "Happy's Place" which, IMO, is one of the dumbest shows on TV. I think it would do much better if it had a proper lead in show. Just found out DMV has been cancelled. Another one of the few funny shows still on TV and they killed it after just one season.

Demerzel69 11 hr ago +11
DMV is *alright*. I knew it'd get axed though.

Acceptable_Aspect_42 11 hr ago +7
Tried DMV, couldn't get into it

I'm so sad DMV was cancelled 🥺

Just from the previews DMV looks like an NBC show, baffled it was in CBS

It's so good! And you perfectly described it.

Feel like there should be a flair that indicates which streaming service or channel carries the show in question.

It’s funny because once you watch it, you’ll go “oh, this is for sure on NBC.” Maybe it’s just the mockumentary style, but really, the humor is also super on brand for NBC.

Greyshot26 11 hr ago +5
Peacock for this one!
5
CriticalEngineering 11 hr ago +2
But it’s not Peacock exclusive, it was over the air on NBC. I watched it on Hulu.

I think it’s also from some of the crew that worked on Trial and Error, another show that died too soon IMO

This is at least the second or so time I've heard about Trial and Error...I will check it out! Thanks!

Gives me Parks and Rec vibes. I was a big fan and hope it gets renewed

I didn't think I'd like it but gave it a chance after hearing good things. Stumble has me actually laughing, maybe for the first time since like Community or Arrested Development.

It’s sooooo good. I need it to get renewed

Itzli 11 hr ago +4
I liked it. It was funnier I thought it would be and even though I was unfamiliar with most of the cast they did a great job right out of the gate.

Great show. Really fun and silly... what's the name of that town?...LOL Obvious and subtle jokes... have to pay attention to the background stuff too.. watch for the "door" in the earlier episodes

Southern-Train7142 11 hr ago +4
Unfortunately watch this show is about to to get cancelled after one season due to lack of advertising and low rating

profist 11 hr ago +2
Man…I hope you’re wrong but fear you may be right. Hence this post.

What platform are you streaming this on?

Peacock

Thanks, I'm gonna check it out! Might be a nice distraction from doom scrolling

kuwetka 10 hr ago +3
100%, it's a real comedy. Funny and clever from the start, not what I would expect by just looking at promo pictures
3
Matt4hire 10 hr ago +3
The joke about the town’s second BM (businessman) had me dying.

Thank you for reminding me! I genuinely enjoy this show yet somehow keep forgetting to watch. I don't have Peacock which is part of the problem. I watch it... elsewhere every couple of weeks when someone awesome like you reminds me to. The fragmentation of tv is really becoming a pain. I'll rotate services to get in my favorites but have zero desire to pay for ALL services to just watch a handful of shows.

Scoopie 10 hr ago +2
I couldn't finish the first episode. Like Parks and Rec I'll wait 10 years then watch it lol
2
profist 9 hr ago +1
Fair! Parks and Rec had a really rough first season but I think this one is good from the start. However, it does appear that episode 1 isn’t for everyone. See: this thread, haha
1
tsumtsumelle 9 hr ago +1
Does it get better after the first episode? Because I tried to watch it but wasn’t feeling it, but I know a lot of the other shows you mentioned started off rough too.
1
floridorito 9 hr ago +1
I thought the first episode was okay. But I was hooked after the second episode. YMMV, of course.
1
Demerzel69 11 hr ago +1
I couldn't get past the main character's accent.
1
crossedsabres8 11 hr ago +1
I thought the pilot was pretty rough, does it get better from there?
1
fakieTreFlip 11 hr ago +6
In my experience, most comedies need at least three episodes to really sink their teeth into you. This one is no different -- give it another shot, I think it'll be worth your time
6
Greyshot26 11 hr ago +5
I thought so. It really hits it's stride in the back half. Like most sitcoms, it needs time to find its footing but it gets there around episode 4 in my opinion.
5
Matt4hire 10 hr ago +1
If you at least laughed at the joke’s about the main character’s husband forgetting everything, yes, it absolutely does.
1
floridorito 9 hr ago +1
My biased opinion is yes. I was only "hmm, maybe" after the first episode, but was hooked by the 2nd.

Loved this show, way better than St. Dennis

Sounds like a PR department posting a bunch of BS messages.

Whydoialwaysdothis69 11 hr ago +7
Have you seen the show? Because that’s definitely not the case. It’s f****** hilarious and this person describes it well. It just autoplayed one day on my tv and I was shocked at how funny it is. Peacock did a terrible job marketing it
7
Pretty_Please1 11 hr ago +6
It’s because the show hasn’t been renewed yet but it has a pretty solid fan base that wants it to continue. Plus, NBC sucks at promoting it, so the fans are trying to up the numbers to get it renewed.
6
floridorito 9 hr ago +2
I wish I were paid to comment about Stumble. We out here doing it for free because NBC is busy focusing on off-season tennis and developing Chicago Waterway System.

Trailers best joke was a racist one about an Asian girl. Also Kristen Cheneoweth is a right wing tool. Hard Pass
