In a report by Human Rights Watch (HRW) yesterday, the group said Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF)-affiliated security and military forces have arbitrarily detained, tortured and ill-treated civilians in areas under their control, in violations that may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

So what. If we send in forces to help it's 'colonialism'. If we send in aid it goes straight to the existing power structure.  I would like to see more mature conversations about what we are supposed to actually do about things like this. Or are we content to simply be aware of it?

I think it's just relevant as the military in Sudan is really unchecked right now, there's so much reporting on the RSF that their own humanitarian violations are slipping through the cracks

Yeah. Don't get me wrong it's absolutely tragic and infuriating. But we hamstrung ourselves here in the West, by backing ourselves into some kind of train track problem dilemma
