Sunscreen wasn’t the problem finding one that feels right in humidity was...

If you’ve ever tried sticking to a proper skincare routine in Indian humidity, you’ll know the real struggle isn’t remembering sunscreen it’s finding one that doesn’t start feeling like a sticky extra layer by 10 a.m. The heat, the humidity, and that constant feeling that your skin is already doing too much can make sunscreen feel like the step that tips everything over the edge. For the longest time, sunscreen was that one step I knew was important, but on rushed mornings it was also the easiest to skip. Not intentionally, just one of those “I’ll put it later” things that never really happened. What actually changed things was switching to lighter, gel-like formulas. They feel more breathable, layer easily over moisturiser, and don’t leave that heavy, greasy finish once the day gets humid. I also didn’t expect how much of a difference the texture would make under makeup. Instead of pilling or making everything slide around by lunchtime, it just sits better and blends in more smoothly. That alone makes it feel less like an extra step and more like something that fits naturally into the routine. And honestly, that’s what surprised me the most. We focus so much on SPF numbers and protection, which obviously matter, but texture plays a huge role too. If it doesn’t feel good on your skin, you’re not going to use it consistently. The easier it feels, the more likely you are to actually reach for it every morning even when it’s hot, humid, and you’re already running late.
