I hope that this movie gets a Dark Knight level jump in the Box office

I think we’ll know based on Super Girl’s numbers. Those should hopefully be higher than Superman’s were.

I highly doubt they will be, but I’d love to be wrong.

Eh, not really. This is like expecting a Batgirl movie to get more money than a Batman one, it just doesn’t works like that. That said Aquaman got a billion so everything is possible anyway lol

DC has a bad track record from recent flops. Supergirl’s performance is absolutely indicative of DC regaining trust with general audiences which would then expand to other DC projects. The reason Superman started slow but ended up legging out a decent gross was because it had to fight the past flops. Now that it succeeded, future projects should have an easier time.

I get your point, it’s just that I don’t think that we should expect “easier time = Getting More than Superman”. I can see Man of Tomorrow getting more, but Supergirl’s case is different as she’s in the situation of a spin off rather than a sequel, and Warner itself gave to it a “lower budget” status, so they aren’t expecting getting more than what Superman got.

Is the first one any good?

It’s pretty fun, and has a lot to say with it’s themes

I liked it a lot. Credible Superman who was dramatically interesting and actually inspiring. Menacing Lex Luthor. Excellent use of a (mostly) strong supporting cast.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m not a superhero-action movie fan at all.

The first half's pacing was pretty all over the place but I thought it came together nicely.

These extreme gaps between sequels and/or new TV seasons are such a huge put off Not saying I won’t watch it eventually, but it’s just impossibly hard to maintain hype when the initial experience was 2, 3, 4 years ago & 🎶 You’ve lost….. that lovinnnn feelinnnng🎶 I know these things take time, regardless, and even more so if you’ve put everything on pause to see how the public, press, & box offices will react There’s a reason some films are filmed simultaneously and released within a year of each other. It’s not a foreign concept to not want to lose momentum & public interest.

Hum, Man of Tomorrow is releasing in 2027. The gap really isn’t big at all

Without knowing the season superman was released and the season the next Superman will be released it very well could be way closer to three years than two Also, there’s no guarantee the release date doesn’t get pushed back or whatever It’s three years until proven otherwise IMO

That's really not that long to wait though? Iron Man 2 released 2 years after Iron Man 1 all the way back in 2010, and that was pretty much the same situation as this.

But between Iron Man one and two, there was a Hulk movie, and literally less than one year after Iron Man 2 there was a Thor movie The reason for the gaps are explainable and dismissible because the gaps are filled with relevant content to the overall, and being used to link them all together. So you didn’t have to wait for the Iron Man sequel to get an MCU sequel, if you know what I mean I hate to move the goal post & I know this is not fair, but Nolan was not making CGI superhero popcorn movies. He gets more leeway than the MCU because he’s trying personally and almost single-handedly create something totally different of greater substance than the MCU It’s not a fair comparison

“But between Iron Man one and two, there was a Hulk movie, and literally less than one year after Iron Man 2 there was a Thor movie” Supergirl and Clayface release in this year

And that’s nice and I totally understand your point. It’s a valid comeback. I do hope the interconnectedness is enough to satiate in the same way the MCU was able to fill in gaps between individual character sequels based on the confidence, they instilled in their fans that it would all come together and make sense Gun did a good job of interconnecting the Superman movie with the final season of peacemaker, (so few would’ve dared tried to bring Nicholas Hoult from a blockbuster to the a TV screen) so perhaps they can pull off the same level interconnectedness that keeps hype alive I’m skeptical and pessimistic, and not that it’s Gunn’s fault, just the history of DCEU brought this on themselves, you know I don’t think it’s unreasonable to not want to watch two filler movies before seeing the next Superman movie just to be satiated with content I think that is relatable to a lot of superhero fatigue. People are feeling now where they have to watch everything to stay in the loop & but many may be like me would just prefer to get their sequel soon because they want to continuation of the story/character they’re already invested in These Marvel & DC universe road maps, you know, with their filler movies between sequels, kind of feel like being forced to take side quest or two that you really can’t skip in a video game unless you want to be clueless on the next main campaign mission

Clayface has massive talent behind it including Flanagan as a writer. That is the opposite of a filler move.

Supergirl comes out in THREE MONTHS bro chill. Not to mention Peacemaker s2 came out a couple months after Superman and there are multiple new shows and movies in production. Why are you so impatient lmao

There were 3 years between Nolan Batman movies. This is a 2 year gap - same as the original superman 1 and 2. Are you just saying stuff unrelated to the topic to get engagement?

B_Wayne_8833 4 days ago +1
2 years is hardly an extreme gap. Star Wars movies back in the 80s had 3 year gaps, Indiana jones had a 5 year gap, even the original Superman 1 & 2 (which were filmed at the same time) had a 2 year gap. The issue is how short the general attention span of a viewer is now. You can't expect them to pop out a Superman movie every year lmao.

Didn’t hate the first one, but it wasn’t good. Just didn’t feel like Superman movie at all. Lex Luther was an angry a******, and the Superman was a man child.

> Lex Luther was an angry a******, and the Superman was a man child Lex’s whole character in the end is being an angry a****** and Clark was in no way a manchild.
