Misleading title. If only they said denies rather than cancels.

But it was in accordance when they booked it?

It's a shitty headline and doesn't match what actually happened. It wasn't actually booked yet:
>Representatives for FC Basel told Reuters that they reviewed the request for the concert and ultimately decided not to proceed with it. “FCB received an enquiry and considered it,” said the rep. “However, after thorough review, we have decided not to proceed with the project, as we cannot, in accordance with our values, provide a platform for the artist in question within this context.”

Because people are incapable of reading full articles these days:

Except for all the artists cancelling appearances at The Kennedy Center, Kid Rock's traveling festival failing miserably, and artists suing Trump and other GOP members for using their songs at their rallies. But yeah, all of America is bad.

Then why did they schedule it in the first place?

It was never scheduled. He requested to have his concert in their stadium, they reviewed and denied the request

The description says they canceled his concert. In other words it had been approved.

They probably mistranslated it from a Swiss newspaper. „Absage“, the word used both in the official reply by FCB and in the article in the swiss news, in German means both „cancellation“ and „rejection“. From the Swiss newspapers and the official reply of FCB quoted in the article it‘s very clear that they denied his request. They just mistranslated the rest of the article

How do you cancel something that was never scheduled? Something isn’t adding.

They didn’t. They turned down a request from Kanye’s people.

Leave Key West out of this. But also …
Kanye West ~~is bipolar and he~~ can't be trusted.
I personally believe we are well beyond the threshold for him being able to qualify his lack accountability based on his diagnosis.
Should people with bipolar disorder be given some grace? Yes. But that grace cannot just go on forever.
EDIT: didn’t think I needed to dumb this down.
The first line is a joke because the person I was responding to called him Key West. Key West is also problematic but less so than Kanye at this point.
The second part says “do not trust Kanye and stop making excuses for him”

Enjoy your blissful unawareness to how mental illnesses and especially BPD1 work. You’re in for a real shocker when it happens to someone you love, if that ever happens.

I used to be in a relationship with exactly that. And I’m not anymore because when it’s not the bipolar, it’s the narcissism.
Would you like to tell me anything else about my life before we part ways?

Windows-XP-Home-NEW15 hr ago

…and what exactly should I take away from that? That you refuse to learn about it or sympathize with people who have it because of past trauma? Seems like it.

If that’s what you take away from all of this, I’m not sure how to help you.
Cycles of abuse have limits. It’s okay to have a diagnosis. What’s not okay is to ignore that diagnosis for extended periods time, hurt others and then expect a pass.
If you’re out there and not being compliant with your meds and taking it out on others, I hope you come to your senses and seek treatment.
