Absolutely tragic attack. I spent a few years in Macedonia in my 20s. It does not have a large Jewish population (I think there’s like one synagogue outside of Skopje in the entire country) and, like elsewhere in Eastern Europe, there is a thriving culture of far right nationalism. It’s an area that had the potential for a terrorist attack.

Every attack against Jews is just more proof Israel should and will continue to exist. Same shit different century

Its literally Israel thats the reason for the rise in anti semetism, especially when they justify their serial killings by bringing up the Holocaust or calling aby criticism "Anti semetic". Youre being delusional.

Given that this has happened in the past countless times the Jewish people are not safe anywhere. That should’ve been obvious after WW2. In the end people just want an excuse to kill Jews

This is some strange idea of Jewish exceptionalism. Do I understand correctly that, by the same logic, I could take a news story about an attack on a Romani camp and then come to the conclusion that it is necessary to create a nation-state for the Romani people?

Israel exists as a country. Are you suggesting Israel should cease to exist? Where would the citizens go? Back to the countries that kicked them out?

Boring_Wrangler6780 4 days ago -13
Where did I say that I suggest Israel should cease to exist? Ironically, by writing "Are you suggesting Israel should cease to exist?", you were the one who proposed the idea of Israel ceasing to exist. And then you literally start arguing with yourself in your head. I actually proposed creating a NEW national country for the Romani people. Do you think it would be successful to establish such a country somewhere in northern India? What would the local Indians think about this?

Most of the country is over run with immigrants, not people seeking asylum (like the many sex offenders). In fact, the reason theyve become more hostile and terroristic is because of bad faith actors whove immigrated and came into power like Bibi.    You might want to also look into their track record of how they treat Holocaust survivors.  The only reason Israel exists was to cut the migration of Islam into Europe.

Maybe put the bong down and read what you write before you push submit, you're making unhinged statements.

Right because before Zionism Jews were loved everywhere and never had any problems.

Before Zionism Jewish people lived peacefully in Arab countries.

Even if that were true, which it’s not (or at least it’s an oversimplification), was it an acceptable response to Zionism for Arab countries to force all of its Jews out? I mean, weren’t they kind of making the whole case for Zionism by doing that?

They won't read this, the cognitive dissonance is too much to handle so it will be ignored or mocked on some other grounds: [Who is an Arab Jew?](https://www.jimena.org/who-is-an-arab-jew/) By Albert Memmi, 1975

They obviously got that fact from TikTok, so why even bother arguing? It's best to encourage them, so they make even bigger fools of themselves.

> *Remember, my co-religionists, that on account of the vast number of our sins, God has hurled us in the midst of this people, the Arabs, who have persecuted us severely, and passed baneful and discriminatory legislation against us, as Scripture has forewarned us, "Our enemies themselves shall judge us" (Deuteronomy 32:31). Never did a nation molest, degrade, debase and hate us as much as they.* [Maimonides, Iggeret Teiman.] But sure, peacefully.

Ooh boy does this reek of "I get all my information from TikTok and haven't really learned any history".

Yes, as long as they accepted their *dhimmi* status, accepted their limitations on holding public positions, practicing religion in public, paid special taxes, wore specific clothes, and gave public signs of inferiority to Arabs… then they got to live in peace!!

There isn't much to say about those countries where minorities lived "peacefully". Not only is this just plain false, and was basically a system of religious apartheid, but until the French and British stamped it out by the 1930s far too many of those countries still practiced slavery.

This reminds me of the "autism causes vaccines" bit about reversing the conspiracy theory based on neuro-divergent people disproportionately leading research science. If you think political Zionism leads to antisemitism, rather than the inverse, you fundamentally do not accept the reality of how Zionism came to exist and why it's not going away.

It’s attacks like this that strengthens the resolve of Jews to push for their own nation of Israel just so you know.

Zionism is not a problem lol. Look up what the definition is.
22
scrambledhelix 4 days ago +20
Most people look this up on Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia, the definition is "a racist supremacist colonialist genocidal project", and has been locked that way since shortly after the start of the Gaza war. You are not allowed to question that claim, or you will be immediately held guilty of supporting the worst crime people can commit. It's not rational. And *as a Jew*, one who listened to his grandparents' stories of that era— it's all too familiar a process. The people on Listnook who pursue this kind of trolling are literally emulating the practices and speech of the same sorts of people who've tried to murder us all before. What the words are, they change. The pattern? The escalation of bullying and terror? That never changes. Not since Flaccus in Alexandria, at least. Only 2,000 years of inherited memory since then, so— progress! It could be worse!
