So - more market manipulation by the Trump regime? Got it. No wonder Bessent was their face on the Sunday talk shows. It makes more and more sense now.

On to the next Trump-Epstein file distraction. Why hasn't anyone followed the money yet? Surely Epstein had tons of bank records to unravel.

No_Accountant3232 Mar 23, 2026 +399
There are people currently cross referencing the Epstein files with the Panama papers. It's just not getting any news yet
399
Ok_Collection_2817 Mar 23, 2026 +95
Do you know who is doing this and how to get in touch with them? I would love to help.
95
Kozeyekan_ Mar 23, 2026 +151
The Panama paper journos are already targets. One was car bombed. If people are cross-referencing those people with Epstein's list... I hope they're careful. I'm not a tin foil hat type of guy, but, well, Epstein's suicide that was incredibly suspect and journalists getting blown up does create some cause for concern with those involved.

1beautifulhuman Mar 23, 2026 +35
The mother of the journalist who first interviewed the Epstein victims was kidnapped and is still missing, last I heard
35
SkivvySkidmarks Mar 23, 2026 +46
Epstein's suicide was suspect? Come on. Why would anyone conspire to murder a person who ran a honeypot and traded information with who knows how many spy agencies?

Ron Wyden, see above.

There is no reference to Senator Wyden above. I looked it up and I found no reference to him working on this project anywhere. Can you provide a source?

Unlike all the r*** and depravity, Epstein actually took great care to obfuscate his finances. It will take years (decades?) to unravel that ball of barbed wire. Y'know, the sort of thing where having 1000 FBI agents working 24/7 would be useful...

enjolras1782 Mar 23, 2026 +198
Best I can do is 1000 agents doing ctrl+F : *Don, Donald, Trump, Big T, tiny hands, Ivanka, ivana, Don Jr, Jared, Kushner*

Very clear places to start: https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%209/EFTA00104945.pdf The "globally systemically important financial institutions" are all cesspits facilitating these crimes. They try to divert your gaze and pretend it's crypto or something else. No, it's all the most highly regulated institutions in the world. Wake me up when they start questioning the Rothschilds.
7
bramley36 Mar 23, 2026 +55
My understanding is that the Trump administration is blocking release of Epstein financial records.
55

It's the DoJ, more specifically, Pam Bondi is blocking it.

Senator Wyden has been conducting an Epstein money laundering investigation for quite some time now. Released a bunch of info a few months ago. The investigation is ongoing and I see a bunch of folks have been questioned in regards to it over the last couple months, per the senate finance committee website.

**Washington, D.C.** – Continuing his four-year Epstein investigation, Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) today released new findings and questioned Apollo Global Management co-founder Leon Black over his significant personal and financial entanglements with Epstein, including his massive, unexplained payments to Epstein and various women, evidence of Epstein surveilling women on his behalf, and his abusive and potentially fraudulent tax schemes. This has been my take since day one. This whole administration has just been a series of market manipulations. Tariff announcements followed by massive market drops, then a back pedal followed by a massive market uptick. It’s so obvious. This orange idiot probably has a text thread with his friends telling them when to buy and sell.

Add to that, Bessent appeared as an incoherent incompetent propaganda mouthpiece on Meet the Press. OTOH, it felt so damn good to see Kristen Welker step into her own. She dogged Bessent, demanding an actual answer, refusing to let him duck and dodge with his nonsensical condescending non-answers. She is proving to be absolutely worthy of carrying on the legacy of MtP from Tim Russert.
20
timnphilly Mar 23, 2026 +11
And Kristen was already proving herself worthy to me, as my MAGA family complains about her; after that - I knew that she's doing something right!!!

I sure hope we can do full investigations of insider trading on this shit. It is an insane illegal use of Presidential power demonstrated... I vote prison and liquidation of assets for the ones that have a suspiciously advanced prediction of whatever the f*** they're doing. And if we ever get a hold of the kinds of communication coming from the Oval Office to friends and private sector donors, I'm sure we could reel in quite a few big fish.

I knew as soon as he said he was on the phone with them or whatever that it wasn't true. He always says he's had calls with people, just making c*** up. That might have worked when he was dealing with people one on one and grifting them in his office, but not when it's a message sent to the world.

The article linked says so. >Iran’s foreign ministry denied that any talks with the U.S. had taken place, telling state media that comments from “the U.S. president are part of efforts to reduce energy prices and buy time to implement his military plans,” according to the [Associated Press](https://apnews.com/live/iran-war-israel-trump-03-23-2026#0000019d-1aa1-d733-afdf-daab43470000).

GrafZeppelin127 Mar 23, 2026 +31
Ugh. I yearn for the days when the President of the United States had more credibility than the Iranian government, but I know which of the two conflicting accounts I believe in this particular case, and it ain’t the USA’s.
31

They probably just had Vance call him with his most racist Middle-Eastern accent pretending to be Grand Emperor of Iran to get Trump to back down.
18
Jared2345 Mar 23, 2026 +551
He’s lying. Iranian state media said no negotiations and the Strait of Hormuz will stay closed. He only really cares about the investor class so I’m guessing this was all a show to juice the markets when it opens.

No it’s about the fact that he made threats on the power plants but didn’t understand how much damage Iran could do to the Middle East by destroying desalination plants, so he’s trying to back down while saying it’s all according to plan and make it look like his threats worked and weren’t a massive mistake.

This movie I was in, wonderful movie, I was the star really, had marbles. The bad guys got tripped on them. I should have won the Oscar for my appearance in that movie, by the way. But maybe we can use some marbles to trip the terrible people who are mourning that very bad Robert Mueller, who made up lots of bad things about me and about Russia. And that movie I was in was one of the highest money making movies ever, and everyone still talks about how great I was in it, and even though Hollywood, run by a bunch of losers, wants to forget it, I was the star of that great movie. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Russia has gained tremendously. Iran's regime is more hardline than before after Israel assassinated most of the moderates. Israel has invaded Lebanon and displaced hundreds of thousands. Hundreds of school children are dead. I think this concludes Operation Epic Fury. Editing this to add that you people have your young soldiers too in this senseless war. They would have been with their families today, but they had to die for a pedophile and an apartheid state.

Israel has degraded Iran. Israel has occupied neighboring countries territory. Israel got 2 US carrier groups to do what it wanted. Israel got the rest of the gulf countries to take the brunt of the war it instigated.  Israel was by far the biggest w*****. Russia next. The US like at far more than it gained. Israel may not have won as much as you think. Internally there is a lot of frustration over the repeated penetrations of the air defenses and if the Iranian regime isn’t removed like Netanyahu promised many wealthier Israelis may just leave feeling this will happen again, reports already show higher emigration since 2022. In addition it significantly damaged Israel’s political capital in the US and forced into the mainstream media discussion on Israel’s influence in the government making it a bigger topic again.
14
couuuu Mar 23, 2026 +9
I think it's far worse than that. I think Benjamin Netanyahu may do more longterm damage to Israels survival than Iran ever could. And this war is far from over. The global consequences in the global south are immense. It's they who cannot pay the higher prizes for oil and fertilizer. It will be them who will suffer with their lives. If this leads to a global recession or depression, which it easily could, we might see a new century of antisemitism ahead.

Or, another interpretation: "Let down your guard so that we can strike you *again* when you're unprepared."  Iran has already said that there are no talks, no negotiations, because the last *two times* they tried to negotiate with the US, we struck them ***during*** negotiations. I don't think they're going to fall for a third time.

Yep. The only way the 25th works is if he actually strokes out and cannot physically sign his name.

Chronosshotgun Mar 23, 2026 +41
For him, war _is_ a game. Others have pointed out that he sells before he does bad things, waits for it to be at the worst, buys, then announced some backout. It's (apparently) flat out naked stock manipulation. Baron is worth something like 2 billion now because of it?

A few days into this bullshit I thought to myself, "this m*********** is going to ruin a whole bunch of stuff, kill a whole bunch of people, then realize he's in over his head and run away declaring victory, isn't he?" Well, every day it seems like we're closer and closer to that reality. How it will go is yet to be seen but this isn't 1935, we can literally watch in real time the damage that he's done. I'm just so tired of these people.

His press conference today displayed wild and unhinged rhetoric worthy of impeachment from any sane citizen of this country as it is clear the ‘deal’ he made with Iran took place between Trump and his own advisers strongly urging him not to escalate the war. It is clear no communication occurred between Trump and Iran because who the f*** is in charge of Iran to Mae a deal? A few reporters like Kaitlin Collins pressed him on who he spoke with since his own comments have strongly been that they have no leadership. He literally said that he spoke to ‘some people whom he trusts in Iran - we took out the regime, we took out the 2nd group then we got the 3rd group - but we spoke to some people we trust - we took out their Air Force, their Navy, their telecommunications so I’m not sure how they are communicating but we talked to some guys we trust will be in charge and we are close to agreeing to about 15 points I’d say to get this done’. So who did he speak with? What position do the hold? What authority do they have to make a deal? What are the 15 points? ‘Well the first 3 points are that Iran won’t have nuclear, I can tell you that.’ It is plain and obvious his own people talked him out of bombing power plants. TACO, again. He literally just talked out of his ass for 30 minutes, contradicting himself in one minute after another while some reporters called him out in real time. I know everyone will say ‘Yeah, he does that all the time’ but that is the actual point. We have lost ourselves as a nation. He blatantly made up facts on the spot, manufactured reasons to bomb Iran, said he never met or knew Joe Kent, his literal handpicked director of counterterrorism- not exactly a low level job - and basically said he gave him the position because he felt sorry for the guy. Not because he had qualifications for the job, not because Joe Kent would keep Americans safe, not because America deserves to feel safe from terroristic threats but because he thought the guy needed a helping hand. Hes not even serious anymore. Hes not even trying. He knows nothing short of free and fair midterm elections can stop him. Hes a walking meme. A Reddit troll who wished to be a real boy and now is gay frog marching us directly into armed conflict after conflict and nobody - NOBODY - is holding him or his unqualified goon squad accountable. People are dying - literally losing their lives, starting with the slashing of USAID funds to vaccine policy to shooting American citizens on the streets to literal missiles hitting elementary schools - and our government is doing F*** ALL about it. I’m so goddamned tired of this shit.

What Trump Said Trump wrote in all caps: “I HAVE INSTRUCTED THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR TO POSTPONE ANY AND ALL MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST IRANIAN POWER PLANTS AND ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A FIVE DAY PERIOD, SUBJECT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ONGOING MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS.” “Ongoing meetings and discussions” — implying active, direct, productive negotiations with Iran. Minutes later: What Every Iranian Official Said — Simultaneously and Independently Iran’s IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency: “No negotiations have taken place and none are underway.” Ali Larijani — Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, the single most senior official who would actually conduct such negotiations — wrote directly on X: “We will not negotiate with the US,” specifically addressing and rejecting Trump’s claims. And here is where Trump’s own administration contradicts him: a senior Trump administration official told CNN directly that Steve Witkoff — Trump’s foreign envoy who led the pre-war negotiations — has not been in touch with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi. Witkoff has also not spoken with Larijani. “We’re not using anyone as an interlocutor. This is a military action, and it’s got to run its course,” the official said. Trump’s own senior official, anonymously, told CNN there are no negotiations — on the same morning Trump announced productive negotiations to the entire world. The Bottom Line Trump lied about the existence of negotiations this morning. His own officials confirm it. Iran’s most senior relevant official confirms it. The diplomatic record confirms it. The only open question is whether it was a deliberate market manipulation, a semantic stretch of third-party intermediary contacts into “productive talks,” or a president so detached from his own government’s operational reality that he genuinely didn’t know Witkoff hadn’t spoken to Araghchi. None of those three options is reassuring. And all of them are more consistent with the evidence than the possibility that Iran’s Foreign Minister, Supreme National Security Council Secretary, and IRGC news agency all independently and simultaneously lied about the same non-existent negotiations on the same morning Trump announced them.

The fact both sides can share updates on X just adds a certain, unique level of absurdity to this whole thing. What a strange, strange joke of a time we live in. We live in a time where can communicate with anyone at any time, cure horrendous diseases, send things and people to both space and deep into the sea, and instead of exploring a fascinating universe and ensuring that nobody has to live in poverty, we have a handful of twats literally ruining the world in every conceivable way. What an absolute shame.

It's crazy. Like, I knew your politicians were largely bought and paid for, I just figured they still had the decency to pretend. It's so outrageous that it often overshadows discourse about the corruption we have here. Like, nobody is interested in sweeping up the floors because the damn neighbors keep setting their house on fire.

Mkt timing - yes. Disgusting. Even though we know it could have been 5 minutes for all it matters because it's a bold-faced lie he pulled out of his ample diaper. Iran has no intention of negotiating with this lying, c****-shot coward in 5 days or 5 years. Trump lost, gulf countries know it, EU and world leaders know it, so he is trying to re-frame the whole thing. Too late to claim victory (again) so . ...hmmm...who can he blame for ruining his 'militarily won' war now .... ? Congress?

you sell apples for a quarter, then suddenly no one has access to apples so everyone is selling them for a dollar. eventually apples are available again which means that you can now lower the price... but all the apple salesmen are still selling them for a dollar so no one has any other options but to pay a dollar for them now. technically you could do the right thing and drop your prices, then everyone else will also have to drop the prices (otherwise all the customers will go to you). but for some unknown reason... no one wants to do the right thing and charge a quarter anymore. instead they do the wrong thing and continue to charge a dollar... no one knows why...

Endlessly repeatable scheme. Trump says short these stocks to close knit group. They do. He manipulates the market not with insider trading but with public statements. They profit. They "donate" to his White House east wing project. And who is going to investigate? Trump's DOJ is completely compromised. They work for one man. Even if they do investigate almost impossible to prove insider anything given Trump's comments are for something completely different than these stocks but just happens to dramatically affect them.

The US is so aligned with Russian interests we decided to show the world how incompetent our military is, by declaring a 3 day special operation with no clear goals. Losing assets and munitions at an unprecedented rate while upending the global economy. But don’t wait! There’s more! We gave Iran what they asked for (removing sanctions) and will give Israel even more money than we already do because at the end of the day.. America first?! So much winning it is hard to keep up.

I enjoy the headlines point out that he makes typos when he's ranting on social media. It's the little touches of immaturity that he adds that really sells how c**** he feels as a leader. Every time there's a national humiliation that can be directly attributed to his leadership, we get a little typo filled (often racist, ablist and homophobic) rant that just adds the chef's kiss of unprofessional behavior to the news cycle. Sarcasm aside, I'm with most of the Eastern and Southern Hemispheres of humanity in an overall negative opinion of the effect he's had on America and world stability.
