Taylor Frankie Paul says she's stepping away from Mormonism: 'It's time to detach myself from it' - The "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" star announced she's distancing herself from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints amid controversy in her personal life.
Seriously. I had a roommate get excommunicated for moving out of her mom’s place and into mine. (Her mom was very big in the church.) if an 18 year old gets it for that, TFP should’ve been axed years ago.

Seems like it’s just an easy power structure for an inner circle to control the rest of the members.

Are you looking for logic, reason and consistency within the Mormon church?

Kinda surprised that Mormons got upset at the child abuse aspect of her life and not her swinging or openly sexual aspect of her life. Usually it’s the other way around.

She knows the church would never make a public statement about this, so she can twist it however she wants.

I’m not one to defend the Mormon church, but girl. It kinda seems like you need some structure, faith, or guidance.
Time to try some therapy!

TFP's recently revealed abusive actions may have been enough to trigger review for a church membership council (physical and child abuse both fall under the list of activities that are considered serious acts). However, she has also likely been physically distant from the church for some time already and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a preemptive act on her part.
Either way, this is not a good moment in her life nor the lives of many around her. I hope she seeks mental rehabilitation for what are clearly some significant issues and doesn't just hide behind therapy words as feigned progress. I hope those around her act in a Christlike manner, irrespective of her affiliation with the church.

The first thing she needs is a good psychologist or psychiatrist that can diagnose her- possibly bipolar from what I’ve seen.

She says that she’ll still go to church with her family sometimes. Is that allowed? I’m assuming she means a Mormon church, but aren’t they pretty strict about the people who they let go to services if they aren’t Mormon or potential converts?

Good for her. Usually people just lean more into faking being religious when they get busted for being bad people. I appreciate someone going in the other direction for once.
