I agree. That's what a lot of this is all about. They are smart enough to see the flaws in their ideology but not brave enough to change. They don't want to feel any pain at all so they're taking the easier way. That's why these appointments are so significant. The human character plays a bigger role.

Lets not give them the credit of being smart. They are reactionaries who first arrive at the conclusion they want then work backwards to justify it. It would be considered smart behavior in a 5 year old. For a Supreme Court justice its an abhorrent disgrace.

And states should be threatening to not remit federal tax if reasonable enfranchisment (which postmarked before election day should suffice) is not guaranteed.
Literally no other developed country has a problem making it possible for their citizens to vote other than the U.S. which is one of the reasons it is so obvious there is obstruction.
No taxation without representation is the fundamental principle on which the U.S. had their revolution - and voting is one of fundamental aspects of representation.

Step 1: This "Supreme" Courts says that ballots received after election day can't be counted. Step 2: Trump's tame Postmaster General implements policies that will deliberately delay the delivery of said ballots.
And since the court decision came down a few weeks ago that the USPS can't be held legally responsible for failure to deliver mail, there's nothing anyone will be able to do to stop the deliberate disenfranchisement of all those people.

Remove the supreme Court and there is no one to judge your actions. Replace the court with people actually qualified, expand it to 11 members. And a 60 year old age limit.

He’s not sold.
He’s uninformed.
This whole idea of voter fraud is a trumped up lie. Pun intended.
The Heritage Foundation, the people that are responsible for writing Project 2025, studied voter fraud from 1982-2023. According to,their own report, out of millions of votes cast, they found about 1600 cases of voter fraud. Over that entire period of time. And since people are terrified of illegal immigrants voting, that happened 99 times.
They know all of this. They did the study. But they still want their base terrified of voter fraud so they can disenfranchise millions of voters, voters that are guilty of only one thing: not voting for republicans in every election.
They want scared, ignorant voters to continue to vote away their rights.
And *that* is supposed to make America great.
