I couldn’t imagine closely paying attention to any reality show 20+ seasons, let alone multiple spin-offs and such. Was it ‘Who Wants to Marry A Millionaire’ that was the origin of these dating ones? Then I remember ‘Joe Millionaire’ in like 2003.

Fascinating example of some abusers are also abuseees and how some inflict the damage to themselves with their decision making. Also fascinating example of ABC being desperate to rejuvenate the show despite this chair incident already being known. All that changed is the now there is video, likely released by the boyfriend which was dumb on his part. I assume with no real information except whats in the article, he is a classic loser. Pretty to look at but otherwise useless. His child’s mother was on an upward trajectory which he means he would have had a chance to benefit from that in various ways but now has pissed that away out of spite. He probably thinks it will benefit in child custody but adding a video tape to an incident from years ago isn’t going to do much on the legal front. Since she clearly has bad taste in men, my guess is they got a season that didn’t go well and ended in yet another failure to match so ABC saw an opportunity to cut their loss now and pounced on it.

I just see two abusers who are abusing each other an a network that knew and didn’t care until a video came out on an incident from years ago. Don’t know why people can’t grasp that someone can both be a victim and also victimize others.
